Che Huan heard the voice, removed her fingers, and looked up with reddened eyes at Huo Bei.

Huo Bei saw this and his expression subtly changed.

Che Huan ignored him and sat rubbing her sore feet.

Huo Bei stood to one side, lost in thought, until Huo Jinnan asked "Where is she" for the second time. He then snapped back to reality and lowered his voice, "On the road, Miss Che refuses to get in the car."

—"Give the phone to her."

Huo Bei responded, handing the mobile phone to Che Huan, "Miss Che, it’s the gentleman’s call."

Che Huan glanced at it but didn’t take it, stood up, and continued walking.

Huo Bei watched her figure, picked up the phone, "Sir, Miss Che won’t take the call."

As soon as he finished speaking, the call was hung up.

Some fifteen minutes later, a white Porsche drove by, passing the black Bentley, wheeled around to the front, and stopped directly across the road, blocking Che Huan’s way.

Che Huan looked at it, bit her lip, and stood there without making a sound.

Huo Jinnan opened the car door, got out from the driver’s side, walked over to Che Huan, glanced at her, and his gaze fell on her feet.

Che Huan curled her toes, "Mr. Huo, please make way!"

Huo Jinnan didn’t say anything, walked over to Che Huan, and picked her up sideways.

Che Huan tried to push him away, but Huo Jinnan pinned her hands down, his eyes dark and solemn as they rested on Che Huan’s face. He reached out to wipe away the tears from the corner of her eyes, "Had enough?"

Che Huan didn’t respond, closed her eyes, and didn’t want to look at him.

Huo Jinnan turned to look at Huo Bei.

Huo Bei understood, turned the car around, and went off in that direction.

Huo Jinnan placed Che Huan in the passenger seat, leaned over to fasten her seatbelt, "I’ll take you back."

Che Huan undid the seatbelt and was about to get out of the car.

Huo Jinnan’s eyes showed a mix of unfathomable darkness, "Or I can take you back."
