Daddy! Come Home for Dinner!
Chapter 146: Does This Suit Your Taste?
Suddenly, she felt even more embarrassed,
lowering her eyes, not daring to look at him at all.
Seeing her wanting to shrink into a ball like that.
Zhao Gushen thought to himself, how could she be so cute!
She was so adorable that he didn’t have the heart to tease her any further.
Otherwise, she might explode at any moment.
Zhao Gushen finally showed mercy and let her off, saying, "I actually haven’t had breakfast yet."
"Then I’ll make you breakfast," Ye Fei said, "What time are you leaving?"
Zhao Gushen calculated the time: "The flight is at 11, I should be at the airport by 9:30 at the latest, so I’ll leave around 8:30."
"One and a half hours, that’s enough." Ye Fei said as she hurried to the kitchen. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
With Zhao Gushen no longer by her side, she finally breathed a sigh of relief, feeling much more at ease.
She took several deep breaths, then took some milk from the fridge and sneaked it against her face for a few seconds.
Feeling calmer.
She put the milk back and took out some frozen dumplings.
The dumplings were ones she made in advance and had not cooked yet, just stored in the fridge.
Prepared for times when there wasn’t enough time to make a meal.
They came in handy this morning.
Ye Fei cooked some porridge, then placed the dumplings in a pan to fry. When the timing was right, she poured a thin layer of batter over them and covered the pan with a lid to simmer a bit.
She was frying the dumplings using a method similar to pan-frying buns.
Then, she took some pickles from the fridge, including some Sichuan pickles she made herself.
These were appetizing side dishes, sweet and sour with a mild spice.
Ye Fei finished preparing everything and brought them to the dining table, but she didn’t see Zhao Gushen.
Ye Fei didn’t dare call out loudly, afraid of waking Ye Xiaomo.
After all, the house wasn’t big, just two bedrooms.
The dining and living rooms were empty.
The balcony had floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing a clear view that no one was there either.
Ye Fei went to the bathroom and knocked twice: "Zhao Gushen, are you there?"
No one replied.
Ye Fei thought for a moment and went to Xiao Mo’s bedroom door.
Gently pushing it open, she indeed saw Zhao Gushen sitting by Xiao Mo’s bed, quietly watching him.
Ye Fei didn’t dare make a sound and softly walked over to his side, quietly poking his arm.
Zhao Gushen looked up at her, his gentle expression not yet withdrawn.
Just now, he had been looking at Xiao Mo with that same gentle gaze.
Ye Fei’s heart was touched by his gaze.
Zhao Gushen stood up, gave Ye Fei a soft smile, and left the room first.
Ye Fei, snapping back to her senses, quickly followed him out.
She quietly closed the door for the sleeping Ye Xiaomo and then whispered to Zhao Gushen, "Breakfast is ready."
They went to the dining room, and Ye Fei had made a little extra.
Since she was already up and had made breakfast, they might as well eat together.
She could make more for Ye Xiaomo when he woke up.
Zhao Gushen took a sip of the porridge and picked up a fried dumpling.
This time, Ye Fei’s dumplings weren’t the usual chubby ingot shape but resembled longer potstickers.
"I’m really looking forward to your cooking now, every time it’s a surprise," Zhao Gushen said, taking a bite.
Because of the added batter, the bottom of the dumpling became extra crispy.
With a "crunch" at the bite, it was especially fragrant.
"Pork and corn filling," Zhao Gushen said with a smile.
"Does it suit your taste?" Ye Fei asked.
"Anything you make suits my taste," Zhao Gushen said with a cheerful smile at Ye Fei.
Ye Fei blushed, not knowing what to say.
Zhao Gushen’s words had such ambiguous meanings.
