Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared-Chapter 547: Breaking into the Clubhouse
Chapter 547: Chapter 547: Breaking into the Clubhouse
Three days, a whole three days, Gu Fan had already made several calls and sent numerous messages, but received no response from his parents. This was an unprecedented situation and it made him worried, very worried indeed.
In these three days, Gu Fan had not even gone to work, in order to be ready for any emergency situation. At the same time, he hoped that his worries were just baseless, hoping that his parents’ phones had just fallen into the ocean. But, what were the odds of both their phones falling into the ocean at the same time?
Of course, Gu Fan didn’t want to induce panic in his little sister. So, every time Gu Ling came home from school, she would find Gu Fan relaxing, his legs propped up on the couch while watching TV. She didn’t notice anything amiss with Gu Fan.
The news, if anything had happened, it would definitely be on the news. Gu Fan silently prayed, hoping that his parents would return home safely.
Suddenly, a call came in that startled Gu Fan. He quickly picked up the phone and saw that it was from an unknown number. It had been a long time since Gu Fan had received a call from an unknown number and he was very nervous. His fingers trembled slightly as he answered the call and timidly asked: "Hello, who is this?"
An urgent voice came from the other end of the line: "You are Gu Chuanshan’s son, Gu Fan, right? You need to come to the hospital immediately."
"What’s the matter, what happened?" Seeing the panic on Gu Fan’s face caught Gu Ling’s attention. For some reason, Gu Ling had a bad premonition.
The man on the phone replied: "The boat that your parents were on was attacked by pirates. They were injured and are currently in a coma in the hospital. You need to get over here quickly."
"What? Tell me which hospital immediately." Gu Fan noted down the name of the hospital and its address and then quickly left with Gu Ling.
On the way, both siblings were extremely worried, praying a thousand and ten thousand times over.
Upon reaching the hospital, Gu Fan and Gu Ling went to the ward where they were told that their parent’s lives weren’t in danger. However, they appeared to be in shock and had remained unconscious since the incident.
Hearing that their lives weren’t in danger, Gu Fan and Gu Ling breathed a sigh of relief. Gu Fan then asked the doctor who had brought his parents to the hospital, claiming he wanted to thank him in person.
The doctor said the person who had brought Gu Fan’s parents in paid for their medical care and left, stating that someone would come to take care of them and there was no need for the hospital to contact their family.
After learning the basics of what had happened, Gu Fan furrowed his brows. He had intended to find out what exactly had happened from that person, but he had left too quickly.
Then, Gu Fan asked: "Please tell me, doctor, apart from my parents, was anyone else from the incident admitted to the hospital?"
The doctor shook his head and confirmed there was no one else.
"Just as I thought!" Gu Fan thought to himself bitterly. If they had really been attacked by pirates, then how come only his parents were injured and sent to the hospital? And why was there no news report about it? Normally, this kind of incident would have been reported in the news. There was indeed something fishy about all this.
Gu Fan then called Su Hui, informed her about the incident and asked her to investigate it while he went to take care of something else.
Walking into the ward and seeing his parents unconscious, and his sister worried by their side caused a wave of pain to surge within Gu Fan. He had an idea about what had taken place. Overcome by anger, he stomped out of the room.
"Brother, where are you going?" Seeing Gu Fan leaving in such a rage, Gu Ling was worried that he was about to commit some rash act.
"Stay here and take good care of our parents. Wait for Sister Su to arrive. Don’t think about anything else, let me handle everything." Gu Fan left these words behind and then stormed out of the hospital. He then flagged down a taxi, heading straight for the Elite Club.
Arriving at the doorway, Gu Fan kicked it open with no hesitation and boldly made his way inside. Soon he was surrounded by bouncer-looking men.
Gu Fan recognized these men. They were those who had thrown in their lot with Hai and Leng Le, which meant they were in the know about the situation and not innocent bystanders. This made Gu Fan breathe a little easier.
"Hey, who allowed you to..." Before a bouncer could finish his sentence he was brought down with one punch from Gu Fan.
"You punk, are you looking to cause trouble..." Another bouncer was cut off as Gu Fan kicked him away.
Now the bouncers knew that Gu Fan was not just a haze draw. They gathered around, ready to gang up on Gu Fan. But, so blinded by his rage was Gu Fan that he had completely lost his cool and did not care that he was on their turf.
Just as the two sides were about to clash, a soft voice echoed from the stairs: "I was wondering who it was; isn’t this my ex-boyfriend? What’s gotten you all worked up? Who ticked you off?"
"Don’t play dumb. Where’s the big boss? I need to talk to him." Gu Fan was furious; he was in no mood for pleasantries or for listening to Leng Le’s nonsense.
Leng Le cracked a sly smile: "I’m sorry, but the boss is busy and can’t entertain you now. How about this, tell me what you want to say and I’ll pass it onto him."
Gu Fan shouted in fury: "Did you guys hurt my parents?"
"What? What happened to your parents? Did they get hurt? What does that have to do with us?" Leng Le feigned innocence, but purposely made his act poor enough for Gu Fan to see through, just to upset Gu Fan further.
Gu Fan sneered: "Quit playing innocent. My parents took your Lengbing Ocean Company’s ship and then an accident happened. And only they were the ones who got hurt. Do you dare to say this has nothing to do with you?"
Leng Le shook his head: "So many people take our company’s ships every day, there are bound to be some unfortunate ones who run into pirates. It’s just your parents who got really unlucky, maybe it’s related to your recent behavior."
Upon hearing such provocative words, Gu Fan could not hold back anymore. He charged straight at Leng Le, wanting to settle the score.
Seeing this, the security guards chased after Gu Fan but they were no match for his speed. Gu Fan was about to reach Leng Le.
It was at that moment, a tall and imposing man stepped forward, positioning himself directly in front of Leng Le facing the raging Gu Fan. It was Hai who warned in a stern voice: "Gu Fan, don’t make me do this, you can’t beat me."
"I can beat you or not, who knows until I try." Gu Fan was too enraged to care whether he was Hai’s match. He yelled and launched a powerful right hook.
Leng Le sidestepped with a cold smile: "If Gu Fan isn’t being polite, Hai, you should know how to protect yourself. Don’t hold back against him either."
"Rest assured, I know what I should do. I definitely will not show mercy." After saying these words, Hai grunted and also stepped forward, throwing a punch with no intention of backing down.
