Urban Super Soldier King-Chapter 704: The Rebellion in Mu Bai’s Heart
Chapter 704: Chapter 704: The Rebellion in Mu Bai’s Heart
Deep in the mountains, Tie Zhuzi, drenched in sweat, was jogging. He had been here for five days now. Not seeing the young girl for these five days made him feel very suffocated, but Xiang Yu wouldn’t let them go outside—they could only idly train with Wu Jing and the others.
Meanwhile, Mu Bai had begun to slowly get into the groove. He was training far more than the others. As the leader of The Dark Department, he naturally had to learn about the issues that The Dark Department needed to be aware of.
Since Mu Bai was favored by Xiang Yu, he clearly wasn’t ordinary. He learned quickly, and inevitably grew a bit arrogant. He was somewhat reluctant to learn some of the things taught by Wu Jing. It wasn’t that Mu Bai had a bad attitude, but rather that it was human nature.
At noon, after finishing his training, Mu Bai saw Tie Zhuzi sitting alone and bored on a rock, and approached with a smile, "We’ve been cooped up in the mountains for so long, don’t you want to go out and have some fun?"
Tie Zhuzi looked at him disdainfully, "Who doesn’t want to go out? Brother Yu won’t let us."
Mu Bai smiled, "During my running training, I found a small path that leads directly down. As long as we keep it from Brother Yu, we can go out and have fun for an afternoon, then hurry back during the afternoon training, and there won’t be any problems."
"Just drop it. If Brother Yu is not letting us go out, he obviously has his reasons. Let’s not mess up Brother Yu’s plan," Tie Zhuzi quickly shook his head.
"What can Brother Yu do right now? He’s just avoiding the opposition, dodging their sharpness, waiting for them to leave before going out," Mu Bai complained somewhat.
"You haven’t been here long enough to understand Brother Yu. Every move he makes has a purposeful reason," Tie Zhuzi said proudly.
Mu Bai pursed his lips, "Stop bragging. He’s not that miraculous."
Although Mu Bai now followed Xiang Yu and had secretly vowed loyalty to him, he couldn’t stand Tie Zhuzi’s near-worshipful demeanor. He just wanted to find a weakness in Xiang Yu and tell Tie Zhuzi not to be so foolish.
"You’ll understand in time. Brother Yu’s abilities are far beyond your imagination," Tie Zhuzi idly said, tossing stones.
"Yeah right, I just don’t buy it. You’re not going, are you? If you’re not going, I’m going alone. Just don’t snitch," Mu Bai said and then stood up, dusting himself off to leave.
"You can’t go. Brother Yu said none of us can go outside," Tie Zhuzi said seriously.
"Brother Yu didn’t say it was me specifically. Besides, Evil God’s men don’t even know I exist yet," Mu Bai said, somewhat defiantly, then took off running towards the distance.
Tie Zhuzi was conflicted. He wanted to tell Xiang Yu, but he also felt that it would be betraying Mu Bai, which gave him an uneasy feeling.
After agonizing over it for a while, he finally decided to follow behind Mu Bai. He didn’t intend to play outside, but to protect him. If everything went smoothly, all was well, but if there was danger, he would be the first to pull Mu Bai back.
Mu Bai, seeing that Tie Zhuzi had followed, was naturally very happy and pulled Tie Zhuzi along, "Don’t worry, just follow me, and everything will be fine. We’ll return after an hour of fun."
Although Tie Zhuzi was usually keen on playing, he wasn’t in the mood now and was instead preoccupied with Mu Bai’s safety.
Mu Bai continued trying to persuade Tie Zhuzi, essentially arguing that Xiang Yu was not a god, that he too could make mistakes, and that they shouldn’t blindly trust him.
Upon hearing this, Tie Zhuzi immediately got angry with Mu Bai.
Mu Bai despised Tie Zhuzi’s worshipful demeanor. Mixing with Xiang Yu was fine, but worship was unnecessary.
"Today I just want to show you that no matter how we play, there won’t be any problems. Brother Yu is just scaring us," Mu Bai said angrily.
"If you mention Brother Yu once more, I’ll not be polite," Tie Zhuzi, glaring, grabbed Mu Bai by the collar.
Mu Bai had no choice but to nod and say, "Dealing with a naive kid like you really is a headache."
Having said that, he didn’t bother with Tie Zhuzi anymore and started walking towards the main road.
Upon reaching the main road, they hailed a cab and headed into the city. Mu Bai felt at ease, as he always thought that Xiang Yu was deceiving them.
Mu Bai led Tie Zhuzi to a bar and walked straight in, clearly a frequent visitor to this place.
The bar wasn’t very busy at noon; it was sparsely populated but still blasted loud music. In the center, there was a small stage with a long-legged woman scantily clad, dancing seductively. freewēbnoveℓ.com
There were some wealthy second-generation kids enjoying the show, occasionally stuffing banknotes into the dancer’s underwear. Usually, Tie Zhuzi thrived in such places, but today he couldn’t bring himself to enjoy, feeling guilty as Xiang Yu had forbidden him from coming here.
"Have you had enough fun? Let’s go back," Tie Zhuzi said, sitting next to Mu Bai.
"Why are you acting like a woman? It really doesn’t suit your burly physique," Mu Bai said nonchalantly.
He just wanted to shatter the myth of Xiang Yu in Tie Zhuzi’s heart.
Meanwhile, in the office villa at the center of Wolong Villa, Xiang Yu was on the phone.
"Big brother, we’ve spotted thirteen of these people across the city," the voice on the other end said.
Xiang Yu nodded and replied, "Keep observing, they’ll definitely reveal themselves first. Remember one thing, don’t spook them."
"Don’t worry, big brother," the caller said before hanging up.
Xiang Yu was now competing in patience with the enemy. His people were everywhere in the city, and locating a few individuals was a piece of cake. However, since they were all trained, it posed a challenge for Xiang Yu and his crew.
The group under Xiang Yu had gone into hiding, making them hard to find for the enemy. Over time, they would become desperate and disorganized—that was what Xiang Yu was banking on to force them out of the shadows.
Five days went by quickly, and the enemy’s assassins gradually began to reveal themselves. Initially cautious, they were slowly becoming bolder.
This was exactly what Xiang Yu wanted. So far, they had identified thirteen assassins, each one of them top-notch, instantly mesmerizing to anyone who laid eyes on them.
At that moment, Xiang Yu was sitting in the office at Wolong Villa, sipping tea, and asked casually, "Why haven’t I seen Tie Zhuzi these past few days?"
Xiao Xuan chuckled, "He’s training with Wu Jing."
Xiang Yu nodded. Tie Zhuzi was a lad he trusted a lot. But when it came to Mu Bai, he somewhat had reservations since Mu Bai had only recently joined him and certainly lacked understanding in some matters.
"Xiao Xuan, why don’t you check on Mu Bai this afternoon, see if there’s anything going on?" Xiang Yu said.
Xiao Xuan nodded and replied, "Got it, bro."
While they were chatting, Xiang Yu’s phone rang. It was a brother from the Tianlong Squad. As Xiang Yu answered, he suddenly had a bad feeling.
"What’s going on?" Xiang Yu quickly asked.
