"Mom, how long do I need to be locked up?" Yang Jianming cried the second he saw his mother. It had been days since he was locked up in the prison cell, and yet Han Ruochen never came with the letter of understanding. If this continues, he will end up getting ruined!

Yang Jianming hated Han Ruochen very much. That woman was the cause of his peril at the moment. Fine, he schemed against her, but wasn’t she fine in the end? Other than being a bit scared and startled, there was nothing wrong with her. So why did she have to harp on this matter? She even ruined his and Han Ziyan’s reputation, and even that wasn’t enough for her. She even sent him to prison.

Now that he had stayed locked up for so long, wasn’t it enough for her?

Madam Yang was also angry. If not for the fact that Han Yichen was protecting Han Ruochen like she was his precious treasure, she would have very much wanted to scratch Han Ruochen’s face and ruin her like she had ruined her son. That brat caused her son to be fired from his job, and now his reputation had been ruined with the rumours circulating in and around the county. There was no way Yang Jianming would be able to get a job in the schools in the county ever again with his sullied reputation; now he only had one chance, and that was to pass the college entrance examination and go to the capital.

"Jianming, don’t worry. Your father has put in a few favours with his higher-ups, and even though your grandfather is angry with you, your father has used all of his connections to get you out of this place. Make sure to stay filial to your father from now on." Mother Yang was quite relieved that, after running around for so long, they were finally able to get their son out of this hellhole. But at the same time, she was furious just thinking about how the Han family mother and daughter caused her son to be locked up for so long and never turned up.

Especially that Han Ziyan. That woman pretended to love her son, but when it came down to actually standing up for her son, she disappeared as if they never had any sort of relationship.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. So when the police officer came to unlock the door of the prison cell and allowed her son to step out, she lashed out at Han Ziyan at once, "Jianming, you should stay away from that woman, Han Ziyan. Look at this; she never came to see you ever since you got caught and thrown into prison. I think that woman is not a good match for you."

Yang Jianming shrugged his shoulders as he stepped out of the compact cell. He pursed his lips when he heard the words of his mother; though he did feel resentful toward Han Ziyan, he just couldn’t bring himself to hate her. In his heart, Han Ziyan was still a pure-hearted little woman who was being suppressed by her adoptive father and family.

Look at this. Han Ruochen was so heartless toward her. Even though she knew that if she did such a thing, Han Ziyan would never be able to raise her head in front of the entire village, and yet Han Ruochen didn’t even think twice before ruining her life.

"Alright, Mum." When Yang Jianming saw that his mother was still nagging in his ears, he said to her, "It’s not Ziyan who is in the wrong. I am sure that her father must have stopped her from coming here to see me."

"You!" Mother Yang was furious when she saw that her son was still standing up for that woman. She raised her hand and slapped her son on the back of his head and angrily said to him, "Do you think I am wronging your precious Ziyan for no reason? Listen to me, Jianming. Yichen no longer cares about her. In fact, he is really upset with what you and Han Ziyan have done. Do you think he has the mind to care about whether she comes and visits you? He is thinking about breaking off the betrothal!"

This was something that Mother Yang had found out from one of the workers who worked in the pig farm. Though Mother Yang hated Han Ruochen and disliked her for ruining her son, she never wanted to break the engagement. Just thinking about how she had to return the bride price made Mother Yang upset and her heart fretful. They always wanted Han Ruochen to get married first to Yang Jianming, and then they could push her into the bedroom of her eldest son. Because her son was an idiot, no one wanted to marry him.

It always made Madam Yan worried when she thought about how her eldest son’s bloodline was going to end with him.

Madam Yan thought that the Han family was easy to bully, and Han Ruochen was also a simpleton, who would have thought that her good son would ruin such a good hand!
