The Invincible Strongest Student
Chapter 671: Fake Monk
Just as the three of them in the dormitory were chatting, a sudden loud knocking came from outside.
A few girls outside were shouting, "Lin Tian! Lin Tian! Lin Tian!"
Lin Tian, sitting inside the dormitory, immediately turned pale and dashed into the bathroom.
These fans were really a bit too crazy. After Lin Tian had a taste of celebrity fame a few days ago, he was now overwhelmed.
Watching Lin Tian flee helter-skelter, Li and Meng Nan exchanged wry smiles. "When will we ever be so adored by girls?"
Lin Tian was already a prominent figure in the school, and recently made headlines. His commanding speech and ’low-key’ style instantly gained him a huge fan base.
Most of them were girls, and who could blame them? With his handsome looks, many were attracted purely by his appearance.
Meng Nan opened the door, and two girls rushed in first.
They held a big, noticeable support sign with two large hearts on it, pierced by a pink arrow, making Meng Nan’s skin crawl.
Soon, other girls also crowded in. The dorm, which was spacious before, became cramped in an instant.
Li, sitting on the bed, wasn’t under any threat. However, the silly big guy Meng Nan was cornered by a few beautiful ladies...with nowhere to go but to stand against the wall.
"Where’s Lin Tian?" asked a girl in a pink dress.
"Senior, Lin Tian..."
Meng Nan hadn’t finished his sentence before the girl in pink interrupted him, "I’m not from your school. My cousin told me that Lin Tian returned, so I skipped work and came here. Where’s Lin Tian?"
"..." Meng Nan was rendered speechless, thinking it’s just too crazy, isn’t it?
"Where is Lin Tian? Tell us quickly!"
"Yeah, where is he hiding?"
Meng Nan wanted to back away, but there was a wall behind him, so he couldn’t. He pointed to his face and said, "I’m Lin Tian..."
Before he could finish his sentence, a girl in black refused to accept it. She slammed her support sign on his head and scolded, "Do you think we’re blind? How could Lin Tian be as ugly as you?"
Meng Nan felt wronged, wondering what he had done to deserve this.
Why suffer such an undeserved disaster?
This counts as a personal attack, doesn’t it?
"What I meant to say is, I’m Lin Tian’s roommate! But I really don’t know where he is! Also, Lin Tian likes gentle, shy girls... You should be gentler."
"Of course, we know you’re his roommate. Seriously, can’t you just say things straight?"
"Lin Tian likes gentle girls? Well, if he comes out, I’ll be gentle with him! But no need for you, right?"
Meng Nan felt even more wronged.
Suddenly, a girl ran to the balcony and shouted, "The bathroom door is closed, Lin Tian must be hiding in there."
In an instant, the fans gave up ’besieging’ Meng Nan and ’transferred their battle’ to the balcony.
"Could Lin Tian be in there using the toilet?" someone asked.
"No way! Lin Tian is so handsome, how could he be using the toilet? He must be hiding from us!"
"..."
Lin Tian sat on the toilet lid, holding a human skin mask in his hand. After hesitating for a long time, he put it on.
He then opened the door and walked out.
"Huh? Who are you?"
The fans stared wide-eyed. In front of them was just an average-looking young man.
"I’m visiting from the next dorm. Shouldn’t I be the one asking you guys this question...?"
"..."
"Disperse, disperse. Boring. Lin Tian is too good at hiding, escaping like a rocket just now."
"Let’s go, let’s go. Next time we see him, we’ll block him."
Some who left took a few photos of Lin Tian’s empty bed, then posted them on their social media, with a crying emoji attached.
Later when Lin Tian saw it, he was so annoyed his eyes rolled. Why did those photos look like a memorial, like visiting a deceased person’s old home?
Of course, that was all for later.
After everyone left, Lin Tian finally removed his mask, feeling a headache. These fans’ instincts were too sharp; they still found their way here.
Meng Nan had a strange expression, "Second brother... I think after this, those girls won’t even glance at me when I’m out with you..."
Li made sure to add salt to the wound, "They didn’t look at you before anyway."
"Bookworm, do you want to fight!"
"Come on then, 1v1 in a game."
"You, a noob, challenging me to a game?"
"Loser pays the usual, 20 chicken legs."
"Bring it on!"
...
As compensation, Meng Nan and Li went to the school’s supermarket to buy Lin Tian a new mat, quilt, and pillow.
In the evening, the three of them started bragging again.
"Second brother, did you hear about Mr. Zhao becoming the dean?" Meng Nan initiated the topic.
"When did this happen?" Lin Tian asked, lying on the bed with his legs crossed. He’d known about it for a while but wasn’t sure when Zhao Xuefeng was elected.
"Just a few days ago, Mr. Zhao is pretty low-key. If the school hadn’t made an announcement, we wouldn’t have known."
Lin Tian chuckled, "We should have a few tables to celebrate, you know, make him spend a little, hahaha."
Then Meng Nan added, "Second brother, have you heard? That guy Wang Sicong is starting a celebrity company. He plans to make a few stars famous."
"I heard. So what? I could bring down his company once, I can do it a second time."
"..." Faced with such a bold answer, Meng Nan was speechless. "Second brother, how do you think my singing is?"
Lin Tian gave him a sideways glance, "Why do you have such strange ideas?"
"The party is coming up soon. Every department has to perform a show, so I want to represent our department on stage!" Meng Nan said ambitiously.
Lin Tian’s mouth dropped open in disbelief, "You want to go on stage? And represent the department?"
"Yeah, Sisi and I signed up, and we got selected, hahaha." Meng Nan laughed.
Lin Tian couldn’t imagine it. With such a rough voice, what would it sound like when he sang? Curiously, he said, "Sing a few lines, let me give you some advice..."
Meng Nan straightened up suddenly, cleared his throat, and tried to lighten his voice.
He felt it still wasn’t quite there, so he even grabbed a bottle of mineral water as a microphone, clicked his fingers twice, and started singing.
I want to walk from south to north
I also want to walk from white to black
I want everyone to see me
But not know who I am
Some say you can judge by one’s singing whether they have a story to tell.
Meng Nan’s voice was quite a contrast to his appearance.
Without deliberately imitating Cui Jian’s singing style, the whole song was slightly adapted, yet it didn’t sound awkward. It was rather pleasing.
Meng Nan’s initial voice, clear with a touch of ethereal, gave this Fake Monk a feeling of carefree elegance.
I just want to see your beauty
But don’t want to know your pain
I want to get the water from the sky
But not your tears
I don’t want to believe there’s really a devil
Nor do I want to oppose anyone
You can’t know who I truly am
And don’t wish to see my hypocrisy
