Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1398: Taking Janelle Away
A bright midsummer day, gentle sunlight, and a seductive breeze, all exquisitely charming.
The white sheets and bedding, a room with a hint of a pleasant fragrance; she curled up under the covers in a spaghetti strap nightgown, feeling particularly comfortable, like a lazy cat, with eyes tightly shut, sleeping sweetly.
Strangely, she suddenly sensed someone standing by the bed and slowly opened her eyes, half-awake; Trevor came into view, tall and slender, his features becoming increasingly clear.
Janelle’s eyes widened, instantly awake. She threw off the covers and sat up, her hair in disarray, staring at him dumbfoundedly.
She was stunned, staring at him unblinkingly, as if entering a hallucination.
Trevor stood in front of the bed with a gentle smile, wearing a white shirt, hands in his pockets. In the soft and radiant light, his silhouette seemed to glow.
So handsome, so handsome...
Janelle sat on the bed, shocked, staring at him, missing a beat in her breath as his handsome face slowly leaned closer, his cool lips kissing hers...
It was an electrifying feeling, utterly beautiful and intoxicating, leaving her feeling instantaneously breathless.
Just as she sunk into that kiss... just when her little hands instinctively wanted to grasp the shirt at Trevor’s waist, the alarm on her phone inconveniently went off.
First the alarm in the dream rang, then the alarm in reality rang.
Awaiting this morning for so long had arrived; Janelle opened her eyes with a headache, the dream interrupted. The winter room felt empty, her heartbeat accelerated, and her cheeks flushed red.
The dream was so clear in her mind...
She turned off the annoying alarm and recalled each detail, so vividly.
Oh my, why did she have such a dream?
She actually kissed him! Actually enjoyed it so much!
The alarm rang a second time, rushing her thoughts back; she threw off the covers, slid into slippers, and dashed into the bathroom.
Trevor would come to pick her up in the morning; she had to hurry and get ready, dress beautifully before meeting him!
Janelle moved quickly, almost running while walking; she had become proficient in doing makeup, capturing every minute and second perfectly.
Usually, her makeup was simple, but today she specifically applied a bit of blush to look more lively.
Trevor’s car was parked outside the small villa’s courtyard.
Carlotta stood by the bedroom window, holding the curtain, watching the scene outside in her pajamas; the car had been idle for at least half an hour.
Until her legs felt a bit numb from standing and she decided to stop keeping watch, her daughter appeared in view carrying a suitcase; Trevor got out of the car, opened the trunk, and quickly walked into the courtyard to help her lift the suitcase.
"Good morning."
"Good morning."
Janelle opened the passenger door herself, got in, and buckled her seatbelt.
After Trevor got in, he quickly started the car and drove out of sight under Carlotta’s watchful gaze.
Her daughter had grown up, was going to have a boyfriend.
Looking back, she seemed to see her younger self, pursuing love without hesitation, only to lose everything in the end; her eyes dimmed, inevitably tinged with a bit of melancholy.
Inside the car, Trevor turned up the heat a little, "Cold?" he asked, looking at her with concern.
"I’m okay."
Trevor handed her a pink bag, "For you."
"What’s this?" She reached out to take it, opened it up, "A hand warmer?" Surprised, she turned to look at him.
Trevor’s profile was gentle; he looked straight ahead, not at her.
Her heart felt warm, his felt sweet too, the entire car was filled with a warm, sweet fragrance.
"Thank you," she said, withdrawing her gaze, carefully cradling the bag in her arms.
