Twin Treasures: The CEO Wife's 99-Day of Revelations
Chapter 1399: Trevor Brings Her Good News
After a while, Trevor noticed she was silent, so he glanced over at her, "Cold?"
"Huh?" The girl snapped back to reality and turned her eyes, meeting his gaze. She quickly gathered herself, "I’m not cold, not cold, really."
So, what was she thinking?
Trevor could sense a hint of her nervousness. His lips curled into a gentle smile.
Janelle Mills averted her gaze. She wasn’t sure if it was the heater or something else, but she felt her cheeks flush.
"Janelle, I have some good news for you." Trevor said while driving, his voice warm, anticipating her joyful reaction.
When the girl turned her eyes again, he also glanced at her, "What good news? Are you going to ask me out?"
This was the first thought that flashed through Janelle Mills’ mind.
But upon thinking again, that wouldn’t be good news, would it?
Doesn’t he need to ask if she’s willing to date? It wouldn’t be right to just spring such news on her, would it?
So she waited quietly for his response.
Trevor’s right hand left the steering wheel and, without warning, held her hand. The action startled the girl, she turned with a slightly dazed look towards him.
"You’re a bit cold, do you want a heating pad?" he asked with concern.
Janelle shook her head, their fingers intertwined. She dared not look at him, "What is the good news?" She didn’t pull her hand away.
Trevor didn’t release her hand, instead, interlocking their fingers tightly, "Last night I went to see your dad."
Janelle Mills was startled, turning her gaze to ask, "Why did you see him?" She almost forgot her hand was still in his grasp.
"Just to chat about life." Trevor slowed the car, telling her, "Your dad is currently single, he doesn’t have a woman beside him."
"How is that possible?" The girl widened her eyes in disbelief, "My dad remarried! Really!"
"Yes." Trevor turned his eyes, affirming, "But they divorced soon after."
"..." Janelle Mills still couldn’t believe it. Divorced again? And so soon?
Seeing the shock in the girl’s eyes, Trevor’s profound eyes contained sincerity and warmth, "It’s true, your dad had no reason to lie to me."
Janelle Mills was too stunned, she really couldn’t believe it, but she trusted Trevor’s words, so she tried to digest the unbelievable truth.
He was driving, again tightening his hold on her hand, as if sending her a surge of strength invisibly.
The feeling of joy began to grow in Janelle Mills’ heart, and then gradually turned into a wild elation, her whole heart occupied by this fact, she was so excited that she couldn’t find any words to say for a moment.
She indeed needed time to process it... after all, it’s such a significant matter.
Trevor tightened his hold on her hand again, giving her strength, "So, Janelle, your wish can come true."
And she was willing to help him achieve it.
Tears welled up in the girl’s eyes from her overwhelming excitement, "If Sister Sterling knows about this, she would undoubtedly... I can’t even imagine, she’d probably be so happy!"
"Who is Sister Sterling?" Trevor asked, confused.
"My mom!"
Trevor didn’t quite understand the relationship between the two, but he could see through some things, "Do you think the chances of them reconciling are high?"
"Yes." The girl analyzed, "From her agreeing to live in my dad’s house, I feel she’s gradually letting go, and she hasn’t been seeing anyone all these years, she surely still carries feelings for my dad."
