365-Day Trial Marriage With Hunk: Wife's A Little Wild
Chapter 2135: Dodge Whenever You Can
If placed under the night lights, it would surely be dazzling.
Ye Mingmei brushed over the rhinestones on the shoe’s surface, her beautiful eyes flashing with a hint of luster.
She could tell that Yu Xiuzhun genuinely put effort into it, not just to appease her.
The rhinestones and sequins on top were all hand-affixed.
Ye Mingmei didn’t even dare to imagine who did all this by hand.
After putting away the dress and shoes, Ye Mingmei could finally sleep peacefully.
The next day was Sunday, and Ye Mingmei was supposed to rest at home. However, due to a mishap with a project, she received a last-minute notice and rushed to the office.
As soon as she entered the office, she didn’t even have time for water before starting to revise the documents.
By the time she finished working overtime, it was almost eleven in the morning.
She hadn’t even had breakfast, let alone lunch.
"Miss, have a glass of milk to settle your stomach first." The secretary considerately brought her a glass of milk and placed it on the table.
"I’ve already adjusted the plan, and the data is all updated. Check it, and if there are no issues, send it to the printing room and deliver it to Mr. Jin when it’s ready."
Ye Mingmei sent the document to her email and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She picked up the glass of milk beside her and took a sip.
Just as she was about to swallow, a wave of nausea hit her chest, and she rushed to the restroom, covering her mouth.
"Ugh—"
Ye Mingmei braced herself against the edge of the washbasin, retching dryly from the nausea.
Having skipped breakfast, there was nothing to vomit, and she pressed her chest in discomfort, unable to recover for a while.
Her face was ashen.
"Miss, are you okay?"
The secretary followed her into the restroom and quickly handed her a tissue.
"I’m fine, probably just too hungry and it’s upsetting my stomach. I just need to rest a bit." Ye Mingmei turned on the tap, washed her face, wiped the water away, and left.
She was becoming so fragile these days, getting sick just from missing a meal.
"Do you need me to prepare some medicine for you?" The secretary looked at her pale face, asking with concern.
"No need, I’ll pack up and head back. Call me if anything comes up." Ye Mingmei put her phone from the desk into her bag, picked it up, and left the office.
She drove home to the Ye Family’s residence from the garage.
After a busy morning without even a sip of water and a bout of vomiting, Ye Mingmei had no appetite at all and just went back to her room to sleep with her head down.
She slept until the evening, slowly waking up.
Glancing at her phone, she realized she had slept for most of the day, her stomach nearly growling with hunger.
She patted her small stomach and got up to find something to eat.
"Miss, you haven’t taken your medicine today. Should I bring it to you now?" The housekeeper asked respectfully as soon as he saw Ye Mingmei.
Ye Mingmei then remembered she had rushed out in the morning, skipping breakfast, let alone remembering to take medicine.
"Never mind, it’s too late anyway. I’ll skip it today."
Ye Mingmei waved her hand, munching on a sandwich.
That bitter traditional medicine — skipping it was a blessing.
Eating and drinking to her fill, Ye Mingmei checked the time, and when it was almost eight o’clock, she changed her clothes, waiting for Jin Chenye to pick her up.
These days, Su Yiru’s fashion show was starting, and she was out most of the time. The large villa was left with only Ye Mingmei, feeling a bit lonely.
When Jin Chenye arrived, Ye Mingmei was already hugging a pillow, dozing off on the sofa, waiting for him.
Just as he was about to carry her to the car, she woke up the moment he touched her.
"Tired? Maybe we shouldn’t go today." Jin Chenye looked at her tired little face and spoke considerately.
