70s Delicate Girl: A Guide to Being a Rich Woman
Chapter 439: Sharing Wedding Candy
After learning about the family’s situation, Xu Mumu felt a bit relieved.
The second uncle just had a cut on his arm, nothing serious, and it would heal in a few days. Neither of the two younger brothers was lost, which was a great relief.
After hanging up the phone, Xu Mumu talked to Yin Yang about the matter.
"Do you want me to send someone to keep an eye on the person who tried to steal Kangkang?" After a moment of silence, Yin Yang finally spoke.
"The person is already locked up, and you can still manage that?" Xu Mumu was already impressed with Yin Yang, but she didn’t expect him to be even more capable.
"It’s nothing difficult." Yin Yang smiled faintly. The people who owed favors to the Yin Family now held quite high positions, and a phone call would settle things.
"Alright then, have someone take care of it. Human traffickers deserve to be beaten to death. They must have a gang, so make sure your people are careful." Xu Mumu loathed human traffickers deeply.
"Don’t worry." Yin Yang nodded, blaming those people for not having the sense to bully his wife’s family.
On the day of the New Year, Xu Mumu got up early to get busy. With Yin Yang’s help, Professor Song’s health was fully recovered, and walking around was no problem at all.
With someone to lend a hand, it was faster to prepare a table of dishes, and Xu Mumu managed to tidy up quickly.
Xu Mumu rarely prepared such a formal spread of dishes, and although it wasn’t top-notch, it was still presentable.
After lunch, cleaning up the dishes fell to Yin Yang. Xu Mumu didn’t like doing dishes, and Yin Yang had been doing it these days, which she was very satisfied with. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
After the New Year, Mrs. Liu came over the next day. As soon as Mrs. Liu arrived, Xu Mumu immediately relaxed. She really didn’t like being tied to the kitchen; she disliked the smell of kitchen oil and smoke.
With Mrs. Liu around, she no longer had to do these tasks herself, and Xu Mumu was overjoyed.
After only a few comfortable days, the day of school reopening arrived, and Yin Yang also had to start getting busy again, having less time to spend with her.
Xu Mumu and Yin Yang went to the school together; Yin Yang was there to accompany her for registration.
"Today is the official registration day, and yet there are not many people. Those people must have come quite early." Xu Mumu said with some emotion after coming out of the administration office, noticing many had arrived ahead of time.
"Hmm." Yin Yang nodded.
After escorting Xu Mumu to the classroom, she waved to Yin Yang, "You should go get busy."
Yin Yang still had plenty to do. Although he had been accompanying her for the past few days, she knew he had piled up many things to handle, but he still chose to spend more time with her, for which Xu Mumu was already very happy.
"Alright, don’t rush me. Why are you learning from that boy Yun Hong?" Yin Yang smiled helplessly, wondering for whom he was doing all of this.
"Do you dare to dislike me?" Xu Mumu glared.
"I wouldn’t dare. Come on, go in." Yin Yang said with a smile.
"Hmph." Xu Mumu snorted proudly but still entered the classroom, stopping the playful banter with Yin Yang, as they both had things to busy themselves with.
The classroom was lively, and it was no surprise anymore that Xu Mumu was being dropped off by her partner.
"Mumu, your partner is really nice to you." Su Yue’e teased Xu Mumu with a smile.
"We’re already married. Here’s some wedding candy for you." Xu Mumu said with a smile, then took out the wedding candies she brought and handed a few to her classmates.
"Wow, you’re already married. I thought you would wait until after graduation." Su Yue’e said in surprise, peeling a candy and putting it in her mouth.
"Yin Yang has already graduated. He applied for early graduation." Xu Mumu smiled faintly, attracting attention from many around.
Xu Mumu’s mention of these matters garnered a lot of attention.
Jiang Zhenghao and the others had mixed feelings. They had quite liked Xu Mumu before, without ever thinking to disrupt their relationship, but they didn’t expect Xu Mumu to get married so quickly.
Seeing Xu Mumu attracting so much attention made Shen Ya immensely jealous.
Now, all she could do was be envious, for she couldn’t do anything to Xu Mumu anymore.
Her small tutoring class had completely shut down last semester, and after living in relative comfort for a year, life became constricted again, a disparity only she knew intimately.
She envied that Xu Mumu was prettier than her, lived a better life, and had a man who loved her so much.
As for her, the boy she secretly liked had feelings for Xu Mumu, and she couldn’t compete with Xu Mumu at all, which made her feel helpless.
The counselor soon arrived, giving the usual speech before handing out the new semester’s books.
Xu Mumu flipped through the new books. They were all foundational professional knowledge she had already learned from Professor Song. Xu Mumu paused for two seconds, realizing she could graduate early, as she already knew this professional content. She had also covered other elective subjects and had even learned some in her past life without any difficulty.
As she encountered more professional material, she became more aware that the professional knowledge learned during undergrad was overly basic.
She went home alone at noon, as she and Yin Yang had agreed he didn’t need to pick her up. The small courtyard was not far from school, and she’d be there soon anyway. Yin Yang had so many things to handle that he didn’t need to make another trip to the school.
Ultimately, Yin Yang agreed to the arrangement, promising to pick her up if he had the time.
When returning to the small courtyard, Yin Yang had not yet arrived. The kitchen exuded enticing aromas, and both Professor Song and Professor Jian were there. They hadn’t officially started teaching yet, and though the semester had just begun, their schedule didn’t involve much direct teaching, perhaps a couple of public lessons a week, with most of their work based in the lab.
"Grandpa, are you still preparing your lessons?" Looking at Professor Song’s writings, Xu Mumu asked.
"Yes, preparing thoroughly. I haven’t taught for almost a semester, worried I might be rusty." Professor Song put down his pen and took off his reading glasses, rubbing his brows.
"How could that be, Grandpa? Even if you teach casually, you wouldn’t make mistakes." Xu Mumu said with a smile. Professor Song had dedicated his life to this field, and some knowledge was etched into his bones. There was no worry about making mistakes.
However, having lesson plans prepared for minor gaps was useful for checking and filling in if needed.
"You can’t speak so absolutely." Professor Song chuckled, shaking his head.
As the three chatted, Yin Yang returned from the outside, looking fatigued, naturally accompanied by Zhou Yunhong.
"Are there many things to do? Can you manage being this busy?" Xu Mumu, seeing Yin Yang’s tired appearance, felt some heartache.
