A Warm Marriage After Rebirth
Chapter 51: Nightfall Sneak Attack (Part 1)
After returning home, Seraphina Sterling asked Dana Lowell for a day off. Tomorrow was Monday, and according to her original plan, she should have gone to school as usual. Everything changed because of Justin Hale’s arrival.
Kimberly Jennings didn’t ask any questions, accepting everything about her with boundless patience. But she had one strict rule: Seraphina’s grades had to be excellent!
Seraphina Sterling lay on her bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. The scene of her death replayed endlessly in her mind.
’Faye Sterling’s smugness, Justin Hale’s cruelty, my own regret and helplessness... and the baby I only glanced at but never had the chance to hold. My heart has grown numb from the pain. No matter how long it takes, no matter the cost, I will uproot the Hale Family! I will make Justin Hale lose everything! Leave him to a life of lonely misery!’
Suddenly, a gust of night wind blew in, making the sky-blue curtains flutter. A nimble figure vaulted through the window and, without mercy, threw a punch at Seraphina Sterling as she lay in bed.
Seraphina Sterling didn’t even try to dodge. She crossed her arms in front of her chest to block the attack, and at the same time, her right leg shot out toward the intruder’s waist. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Seraphina Sterling used one hundred percent of her strength. If the kick landed, the person would be bedridden for at least a week!
But the intruder was prepared. They blocked her attack with one hand, grabbed her leg, and pulled her right off the bed.
The two figures immediately engaged in a full-blown martial arts battle in the not-so-spacious room!
The two traded blows, each move a sharp, killing strike. Seraphina Sterling relied entirely on her keen senses, nimble techniques, and extraordinary speed to contend with her opponent. The other’s powerful aura washed over her like an endless tide of ocean waves; this was not an opponent Seraphina Sterling could defeat!
Normally, she would have instantly thought of a way to make a clean escape! But tonight, it was as if Seraphina Sterling had lost her ability to think, choosing instead to meet her opponent head-on with the simplest, most brutal force!
’She felt no fatigue, no pain. Any pain he inflicted, she would return two hundredfold, no matter the cost!’
Her opponent was also taken aback by Seraphina Sterling’s reckless, death-defying fighting style! He suddenly increased the speed and force of his attacks, forcing her back into a corner. He pinned her arms with his hands, pressed his body against hers to immobilize her legs, and his deep eyes scrutinized her vacant ones.
"Where’s your brain? Did a dog eat it? Or did Justin Hale steal it away?! Didn’t Hughes teach you that when you face an enemy stronger than you, the first thing you should do isn’t to brute-force a fight, but to find a way to escape?" Terrence Grant really wanted to just strangle her!
His furious voice was like that of an enraged leopard, ready to viciously snap your neck and tear your flesh to shreds at any moment!
Seraphina Sterling’s vacant gaze finally found its focus. She realized her own abnormal behavior but had no intention of explaining. "Terrence Grant, did you really sneak in here in the middle of the night to ambush me just to say that?"
Terrence Grant hated this indifferent attitude of hers the most. Even for someone like him, who was an expert at reading people, he couldn’t figure out what she was really thinking.
He grew even more agitated, yanking hard on her collar. "You saw Justin Hale just once and you’re already lovesick, dazed, and utterly bewitched? To the point that you’ve even forgotten how to handle a crisis!"
’Seraphina Sterling was stunned. Aethelgard’s Mr. Grant truly lived up to his reputation! She hadn’t said a single word, yet he’d guessed the reason for her strange behavior! But was there something wrong with his eyes, or was his brain just wired wrong? To think he’d say she’d fallen for Justin Hale! What an absolute joke!’
Seeing Seraphina Sterling still wearing an indifferent expression, Terrence Grant leaned in again, his eyes so close they were almost touching her eyelashes. His deep voice was heavy with suppressed fury.
