Eve Vaughn hummed a soft acknowledgment. Recalling the words of that "uncle," she said, "It was my fault, too. I made Mason worry."

On the way, she sent Eric Kendall a message, telling him she couldn’t make it to piano practice that night.

Mason Lawson drove all the way to Nexus International Plaza, Rivaster’s largest luxury shopping mall.

The garage was filled with luxury cars.

Eve Vaughn looked at him, a little surprised. "Mason, why did you bring me here?"

"Don’t girls like to shop when they’re in a bad mood?"

Mason Lawson smiled. "Buy whatever you want today. It’s on me."

Eve Vaughn slowly began to understand. ’Don’t tell me... is this Mason’s way of apologizing to me?’

She quickly said, "Mason, you don’t have to do this. I’m not mad at you. Besides, there’s nothing I really want to buy right now."

Mason Lawson gazed at the girl’s charmingly naive expression, his eyes darkening as his tall frame slowly closed in on her.

Eve Vaughn instinctively pressed back against the seat, a hint of panic in her large, clear dark eyes.

The man’s breath grazed her skin, sending a shiver through her.

She began to stutter. "M-Mason, you..."

Mason Lawson’s husky voice cut her off. "Do you remember who you are now?"

"My... my identity...?" The young woman’s large eyes were filled with confusion. "Wh-what identity?"

Mason Lawson reminded her, enunciating each word, "The future Mrs. Lawson."

It dawned on Eve Vaughn. She’d almost forgotten.

’That’s right! We’re still supposed to be acting!’

Mason Lawson said, "Since you’re the future Mrs. Lawson, you can’t be embarrassing me by wearing clothes you bought online all day, can you?"

Convinced, Eve Vaughn followed him out of the car.

It wasn’t that she disliked expensive clothes or shopping.

After her father’s passing, her aunt and uncle had seized control of the Vaughn family’s assets. She was left with a meager allowance and had no extra money to live the luxurious life she once had when her father was alive.

The thought brought a pang of sadness to Eve Vaughn’s heart.

It had been years since she’d come to a place like Nexus International Plaza.

Inside a bespoke women’s clothing boutique.

When Eve Vaughn walked in, a sales associate looked her up and down with what seemed to be a hint of disdain.

After all, she wasn’t wearing a single designer brand from head to toe.

But when Mason Lawson walked in after her, the sales associate realized that this schoolgirl-type had a sugar daddy.

’They’d seen this kind of situation plenty of times!’

Seeing Mason Lawson’s attire and watch, the salesperson was inwardly ecstatic. ’Looks like I’m going to land a huge commission tonight!’

The sales associate’s demeanor changed in an instant, and she began to eagerly show Eve Vaughn the store’s clothes.

Mason Lawson sat on a nearby sofa, patiently waiting as the young woman tried on clothes, offering his opinion from time to time.

The young sales associate kept glancing his way, unable to help but envy Eve Vaughn’s luck.

’Looks like all the big bosses are into the schoolgirl type these days!’

After trying on a dress, Eve Vaughn started agonizing over which color to get.

While the sales associate was discussing which color suited her best, Mason Lawson spoke up. "Wrap up one of each color in her size."

Eve Vaughn was stunned. The sales associate couldn’t believe her ears.

She had to confirm. "Sir, you mean every color? There are twelve in total. You want all of them?"

Mason Lawson simply took out a Diamond Card and handed it to her.

Even though he was a man of few words, the sales associate understood. This was clearly a magnate of the highest caliber in both status and wealth.

He could probably buy out the entire store, let alone one of every color. He certainly had the means.

After all, in the fifty years since Nexus International Plaza opened, only one hundred of those Diamond Cards had ever been issued.

The sales associate’s hands trembled with excitement as she took the card.

Eve Vaughn hurried over and whispered, "Mason, what are you doing? I can’t possibly wear all these colors. Don’t waste your money! Besides, I don’t even like every single one."

"One day, you’ll realize the time you waste agonizing over colors is far more valuable than these twelve dresses."

Mason Lawson then gave the sales associate an address and instructed her to have everything delivered directly to the villa.

Watching Mason’s maneuver, Eve Vaughn secretly vowed not to let him see her hesitate in any other stores.

After all, Mason’s brand of extravagance made a simple shopping trip feel incredibly stressful. Next, he took her to a high-end luxury boutique to buy a purse.

They had just stepped inside when an assistant-like figure approached Mason Lawson and said respectfully, "President Lawson, our owner heard you were here and would like to invite you for tea."

Considering the numerous partnerships between the Lawson Group and Nexus International Plaza, Mason didn’t refuse.

He handed his Diamond Card to Eve Vaughn. "I’m going to catch up with an old friend. If you see anything you like, just buy it and have it sent to the house. The card has no PIN. Call me when you’re finished, alright?"

Eve Vaughn agreed, and Mason Lawson left the shop.

The sales associates could tell Mason Lawson was an important man, so the woman he brought with him was naturally to be treated with the utmost care.

Thus, a sales associate began to eagerly introduce the store’s new arrivals.

Eve Vaughn was a young woman who had once enjoyed a life of luxury; she wasn’t completely uninterested in high-end goods.

Now, with a dazzling array of purses displayed before her, she was genuinely tempted.

At the sales associate’s recommendation, she tried on a few different purses.

"Miss, you have excellent taste."

The sales associate told her, "The crocodile-embossed bag you’re holding now only comes in this color, and ours is the only store in all of Rivaster that carries it."

Just then, a familiar, grating voice reached Eve Vaughn’s ears.

"I’ll take that bag!"

Charlotte Vaughn and Lana Chambers strolled in, giving Eve Vaughn a provocative look.

Lana Chambers, in particular, looked at Eve Vaughn with pure hatred.

Ever since being forced to move out of the Vaughn family villa, their tight funds meant they could only afford a small house to live in. But it was so much smaller than the Vaughn villa that they could never get used to it.

Now, thinking she’d found an opportunity for revenge, Lana Chambers marched over, snatched the purse right out of Eve Vaughn’s hands, and passed it to Charlotte Vaughn.
