Chapter 1967: Garan’s Battle

At this time, Garan’s eyes were also glowing, and he turned in a direction with a solemn expression on his face. However, he flinched when he felt someone stab a high-level weapon through his stomach.

It was the second pierce now, and he just kept it from bleeding with his ice.

What surrounded them was a vast ice plain and a lot of blood. He was going against nearly twenty top powerhouses now, but half had already been frozen to death, leaving the rest livid, and Garan exhausted.

Garan raised his hand and swiped at the enemy, and the man, heavily wounded, jumped back to avoid it, even when he fell down due to the weakness of his legs.

Anyone Garan touched, when he was in this state, would instantaneously freeze. With the mana they had left, they wouldn’t be able to fight against it anymore.

Garan currently had a different, nearly ethereal aura around him, though to his enemies, he was no different from a demon.

It did not start this way, of course. When Garan lured the enemies to fight against them without collateral damage from his side, he was intent on not holding back and dealing with them quickly so he could return to his wife’s side as soon as possible.

As soon as they were away, he tapped into that hidden power he used before. He had been practicing it the past couple of months, with some success, so he could trigger it in emergencies.

However, it was still a fact that he’d be exhausted to the point of becoming temporarily bedridden if he utilized it excessively. Hence, the plan was to finish the fight as soon as possible, and not tapping onto that power for too long. Otherwise, if the power disappeared, he’d be extremely vulnerable instead.

Things were not as straightforward as he had hoped because he realized that the enemy...had been prepared for him. Reinforcements above level 30 arrived, and Garan knew he wouldn’t be able to extricate himself soon.

It was an explosive fight, their combined forces decimating part of the mountain. Despite the level differences, he defended well and held on for a while until he was forced to trigger the hidden power.

When he activated the power, he could freeze the area into a cold snap, and the sudden freezing of the ground was enough to distract them. He rushed to them with his weapon, directly killing one and injuring the other.

He did not hold back and barraged them with attacks. Because the enemy levels were much higher than his, and a portion of them were even elementalists, he had no choice but to do so.

He felt his energy drain quickly, but he did not mind. He was determined to finish them in five minutes or less. He had to be conscious by the end of this; he wouldn’t be able to get back to his wife’s side.

Unexpectedly, more and more people surrounded him. A team of powerhouses came from Hassen, specifically. Like many others, since they went from Hassen, they had to go on foot to Valov to take the array, and they were a bit later than others.

This time, there were several people above level 35. A good portion of them were even fire users.

They were targeting him. For what reason, it could be that they saw him as a threat, or perhaps something else.

Regardless, Garan definitely did not allow them to gain the upper hand, even if he had to exhaust himself to do so.

The area around their fight was like its own microclimate. It was practically winter in this area, the air exceedingly cold and biting.

The humidity around even turned to snow—deadly one, the kind that if it landed on their bare skin, it felt like a needle pricked on their skin. If their defenses were low, it would spread out.

This was just one snowflake. Imagine if it were in the thousands or hundreds of thousands per person?!

Some people screamed in pain as he felt his skin dying piece by piece! It might not kill them, but it was agonizing to go through.

Only those with fire elements or fire tools managed to avoid the cusp of the damage, and even then, they could feel their elements taken over by the enemy’s power.

They already believed that so many powerhouses that joining forces against someone who was barely above level 30 was a target to their pride, but who’d know they’d be no less injured than him within an hour?

Half of them had already been incapacitated and dead. The rest of them suffered some form of injury, and the weaker ones—which were still very strong—could barely stand up.

They had to give it their all to handle this guy, or spend even beyond their usual energy. With the right level, equipment, and speed, it was not impossible to neutralize this monster, especially if they had team members covering for them.

Garan, whose mind was slightly muddled with his own surge, knew that it would be a challenge to get this over with, so he did not wait for them to gather themselves and immediately went on the offensive.

The people watched and gasped as the surroundings changed instantaneously, having the ability to freeze people within a few seconds.

Half of them were fire users, and they immediately fired the area around them. They all used skills to amplify their abilities or the burning power of their elements.

Surprisingly, they still struggled to melt the ice! They were forced to stand together, reinforcing each other’s fire, and only then did they escape such a freeze, which surprised them.

They did not expect this. It was no wonder the Lord specifically told them to attack together!

"So this is another one of the Lord’s personal targets," they said, spitting out the blood that rose up their throats, just because of forcefully using a massive amount of their own power to retain their body heat.

This man was targeted at the behest of their scientists in Hassen City.

They claimed that such a unique power structure must be studied, and perhaps could be replicated someday. At first, the powerhouses did not understand this when they were assigned to the mission, but now they do.

Seeing and experiencing Garan’s power like this, when he was so many levels below them, who would not be tempted!?
