Chapter 1021 - 233: Tree City (4)_2
"A part of the World Tree?" Ben thought this sounded like the Withered Beast of the Golden Magic Tree, but he was still interested in a biological nest that didn't require a spot in the Magic Pool. Although it couldn't leave the World Tree, it could definitely be used for defense, especially since it was a Silver Peak guard: "How many of these guards can the Tree House produce?"
"With the current space of the World Tree, it can accommodate at most one, two, three, four Tree Nests, and each Tree Nest can generate one, two, three... ten roots, Lord." Monica calculated seriously.
Forty of them, that's really not much. Ben felt a bit disappointed. If there were a hundred, then he could be completely at ease relying on Valhalla. But come to think of it, the current Valhalla is just a small area; placing even the city hall makes it feel a bit cramped, and there would be no place to accommodate hundreds or thousands of guards.
Thinking of this, he asked again: "Valhalla... I mean this World Tree, how can it continue to grow?"
Monica replied: "That's the task of us Light Spirits. Our task is to urge the magic power to nurture it to grow. However, if it's just Monica alone, the World Tree will take about one, two, three…"
"Wait, don't count, just tell me how many years it will take." Ben heard Monica counting repeatedly up to forty on her fingers, and finally couldn't hold back, sweating profusely, fearing that this little guy would count until nightfall.
"How can you know how many years if you don't count?" Monica stared wide-eyed at Ben, seriously considering whether her Lord was a fool, to ask such a stupid question.
Ben was instantly speechless, and they haggled there for half a day before finally figuring out that if she nurtured this World Tree alone, it would take two hundred years.
"Two hundred years!" Qian was taken aback when she heard this number, as a standard mortal, the unit of two hundred years was still a bit hard for her to accept—it was almost the lifespan of an ordinary person.
"So, if you have two hundred clansmen, Monica, you could shorten this time to a year, right?" Ben had his own calculation method, after all, four hundred Sublunar Crystals wasn't an unacceptable price to him.
"Let me calculate..."
"You don't need to calculate, just tell me if it is or isn't." Ben felt a head full of sweat again. In the previous discussion, he had already found out that this Light Spirit was not unable to count past ten, but rather their way of doing things seemed pedantic, not liking to skip steps.
"Alright, but if we need to finish in a year, then we can't spare any hands to help the Lord build other structures." Monica thought for a moment, then answered.
But this point wasn't a problem for Ben. He could entirely pay some additional Light Spirits to help him build the territory. But this idea had just formed when Monica saw through it and immediately shattered Ben's fantasy:
"Lord, the number of passages through the Teleportation Gate is limited within a certain time, you aren't thinking of summoning thousands of Light Spirits to help Monica, are you?"
"A limit?" Ben's daydream shattered as if a mirror fell to the ground and broke into pieces, he never expected such a setting: "What's the limit?"
"Light Vortex can only withstand one, two, three... twenty energy transitions per month."
"So, it's twenty?"
Monica nodded.
Twenty per month, just summoning two hundred Light Spirits would take ten months, thus calculating that the World Tree could reach the next stage in at least a year and a half. Ben felt a little disillusioned; he didn't have that much time. He originally thought the Valhalla Fortress could become a main force under his command in a short period.
Fortunately, Monica's subsequent words still gave him a glimmer of hope. Monica stated that the Teleportation Gate could be expanded, but the premise was building a Moon Tower within Valhalla.
Ben knew about the Moon Tower; it is a kind of subsidiary structure of a Mage Tower, functioning to train Astrologers. In the game, Astrologers are actually a type of specialized Wizard, their ability is prophecy, and they are also proficient in guiding magic power.
Astrologers can shift the location of the magic power convergence point, or guide the magic power from the Magic Pool into the nest through the Moon Tower to increase the biological output of the nest, or to improve the efficiency of the Alchemy Laboratory.
