Chapter 1050: Chapter 248: Graveyard Resurrection, A Hair’s Breadth from Victory or Defeat

The Deer Demon Sister muttered begrudgingly, then turned back and sighed with a somewhat gloomy expression: "Actually, the Clock Monster isn’t wrong; Pure White Heaven is more than capable of defense but lacks offensive capability. I’ve never beaten it. Little one, you’ve been watching for a while, haven’t you? Isn’t it time to make a move?"

Brand nodded, the ghostly green projection making his eyelids appear as if covered in phosphorescence, with the data from the Destiny Cards quietly flowing over them. He placed his hand on a certain card, gently pressing down, and looked up: "I can, but can you hold on a bit longer?"

The Deer Demon gave him a glance: "Then I’d try to reduce the number of Nightmare Furnace Constructs, but the price would be hefty." She pointed with her hand, and the Platinum Giant Dragon recklessly flew towards the Clockwork Man, while an Abomination wielded a cold fire giant sword, slicing open her back. The Platinum Giant Dragon let out an earth-shattering howl, yet continued charging toward the ground frantically. The Clockwork Man didn’t dare stop her and could only allow her to crash into the Nightmare Furnace Construct, which was quickly overwhelmed by a large margin.

But this was not without cost. A demon engulfed in blue flames had already reached the back of the Platinum Giant Dragon, with golden blood pouring from its back wound, suffering another heavy blow—the Abomination raised the two-handed greatsword, stabbing deeply into its wound, with cold flames seizing its heart. This graceful creature raised her head, Brand could even see the reluctance in her eyes, golden fury burning vigorously, and turned around to bite into the muscular neck of the demon. Unfortunately, her strength was lost, and the bite left only a shallow mark.

Then she crashed heavily to the ground, lying quietly amid a golden shimmering lake like a mountain range.

"Yi Lian, that young man has made you impulsive like never before. But letting the Platinum Giant Dragon exit too early will only hasten your defeat," the Clockwork Man said indifferently.

Brand suddenly felt an unusual silence around the Deer Demon, and he looked up to see her biting her lip.

"I’m sorry," Brand said.

"It’s okay," Yi Lian exhaled: "What annoys me is the stiff demeanor of that Clock Monster, as if it can represent the master. The master isn’t like that at all; the Travel Mages I know can have noble beliefs and persistence, mere cold calculations amount to nothing. I must teach it a lesson to make it realize its mistake."

Saying this, she clenched her fist, and Brand could see the unyielding spirit in her eyes lit by bright flames.

For the first time, Brand felt this lady wasn’t so irksome. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Once again, he placed his hand on his cards, choosing a card from his many options—a pitch-black color, like the flame of a soul burning in the abyss, strikingly colored and tied to some contract. His hand touched the icy surface of the card, establishing a connection between the Travel Mage and the rules—this wasn’t his only pure black Creature Card. The card depicted a giant dragon resurrecting from bones, with a shadow suggesting death and decay.

This was Graveyard Resurrection—

The Shadow Element flowed, and Brand tapped Ruogen Swamp, Water of the Netherworld, and Death Forest (see scene 139, Forest Front), generating 2 Dark Elements from Water of the Netherworld and 2 more from Death Forest, totaling 5 Dark Elements flowing into his Element Pool. The rule was infused with elements, powered by Strength, opening a door to another world.

A card flew out of the graveyard, and Brand’s gaze skimmed over the strongest Fire Claw Lord and his frequently used Wind Spirit Spider. He drew the purest white card from the deck, the Holy Great Angel. Graveyard Resurrection imbued a black force into this card, decay invigorating the corpse from a dismal grave. The angel, once noble, now entered the field in a Black Spirit Statue status, with dark wings and a pale body, her delicate head having blood-red eyes like honey.

A Mercury Ball orbited by several brass tracks flew out from beneath Brand’s cloak, and Brand placed his thumb, index, and middle fingers on the Mercury Ball, tapped it, and paid five Fire Elements. The Eternal Ball reflected the Great Angel’s silhouette, with the corpses of both angels entering the field, allowing their Abnormal Abilities to come into play.
