Stella Sterling lay on her sofa, leisurely pouring herself a glass of red wine.

Hearing Stephen Lawrence’s emotional words, she tilted her head slightly. "Yes, a hell on earth. So you should know how lucky you are to be by my side."

’If I hadn’t needed just one test subject back then, I wouldn’t have used the Loyal Servant Pill on him. I would have just discarded him when I was done!’

Stephen Lawrence answered without hesitation. "To be by your side is the honor of my life. I will be eternally loyal to you!"

’If it weren’t for her, I would’ve died long ago. And even if I hadn’t, I’d just be like all those people outside!’

’I really am lucky!’

Stella Sterling waved her hand, signaling for Stephen Lawrence to leave and not disturb her leisure time.

Stephen Lawrence nodded. "Of course, Beauty. Feel free to give me any orders you wish!"

He returned to the medical room where he usually stayed.

’He didn’t know why Stella Sterling wouldn’t let him call her ’Master,’ insisting instead that he call her ’Beauty.’ ’

In terms of looks, Stella Sterling had indeed been beautiful at first. With her delicate features, she could certainly have been called a beauty.

But now...

These days, Stella’s clothes weren’t exactly frumpy, but they were far from fashionable. Combined with her deliberately smudged face and messy, short-cropped hair, the overall effect was... lacking. While you could still tell her facial features were pretty, the complete package was, at best, not ugly. The word ’beautiful,’ however, was completely out of the question.

’That’s probably why she insists I call her ’Beauty’!’

’A woman’s obsession with beauty really is a strange thing!’

He returned to the medical room and closed the door.

Even though he could sometimes move around freely, he spent most of his time in this medical room.

This was because Stella Sterling didn’t like to be disturbed and much preferred her solitude.

She would only summon him to chat when she needed something. Otherwise, it was best for him to stay out of her sight.

After all, if he accidentally made her angry, getting beaten up by her really hurt. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

It was worth noting, however, that after two years of torment, he felt his pain tolerance had grown stronger. Not only that, but his body also healed much faster than before.

’A blessing in disguise, I suppose!’

After dismissing him, Stella Sterling focused on enjoying her own little world.

’I’ve been in this house for almost two years. It’s about time I went out for a walk.’

’And I wonder how that brother and sister I saved two years ago are doing now.’

She tapped lightly on the table, recalling everything she had seen that day.

By now, the sky outside had darkened, and the entire city was once again plunged into darkness.

A deafening BOOM echoed from the sky!

Massive bolts of lightning streaked across the pitch-black sky, illuminating the shape of the entire city.

A constant rumbling filled the air. The lightning grew thicker and the thunder boomed louder, enough to make one’s heart race with fear.

It was as if no other sound could be heard in the entire city besides the roar of the thunder.

Even inside the building, it was dead silent. No one dared to make a sound.

Stella Sterling sat on the sofa. She had already turned off all the appliances, and the room was plunged into darkness.

Each flash of lightning illuminated Stella’s face in the dark, her expression obscure and unreadable.

Faced with such a terrifying scene, Stella Sterling simply continued to leisurely sip her red wine, a faint smile playing on her lips.

In the past, she would have been terrified by a situation like this. But having experienced it once before, she was much calmer now.

This stemmed from her ample supplies, and from the fact that she was much stronger than before.

’The things from my space are truly amazing. Not only is the Loyal Servant Pill great for solving all sorts of problems, but that Human Potential Development Technique is a top-tier treasure too!’

She had spent most of the past two years studying that manual.

Besides, since she’d been trapped here by the hailstorm and couldn’t leave, she had simply focused all her energy on training.

’The payoff from these two years hasn’t been bad at all!’

’I feel pretty strong now, but since I haven’t fought anyone, I don’t know exactly how strong.’

’But the power I have now feels many times greater than what I had in my past life. I even feel stronger than some of the toughest opponents I ever faced back then!’

’I’ve studied the Human Potential Development Technique as much as I can for now. It’s time to put it aside for a while.’

’The blizzard has passed. It’s still dangerous to travel in this downpour, but for someone as prepared as I am, it’s a relatively easy obstacle to overcome.’

Just as a small smile touched Stella Sterling’s lips, another massive thunderclap echoed through the sky. A loud BANG erupted right above her head, as if something had been blown apart.

Years of honed instincts screamed that something was wrong. Stella Sterling reacted subconsciously, rolling to the side.

Several large chunks of concrete fell onto the spot she had just vacated on the sofa, smashing the coffee table.

Stella Sterling looked up at the ceiling. A large hole had been blasted through it by lightning. What had just fallen was debris from the ceiling itself!

The lightning had only struck this one spot before moving on, continuing to bombard other areas with immense power.

Stella Sterling’s expression darkened. She stared at the hole in her roof as heavy rain poured in. At this rate, her home would soon be flooded.

Without hesitation, she pulled an isolation suit from her space and put it on, her gaze sweeping across the living room.

She preferred to keep most of her things in her space, but to maintain appearances and as a precaution, she kept some emergency food supplies in the kitchen and bedroom.

She quickly stored these items in her space. Then, looking around at the familiar furnishings, she casually tossed a few of her favorite pieces of furniture into her space as well.

"Wh-what’s going on!"

Drawn by the loud crash, Stephen Lawrence emerged from his medical room. He stared in bewilderment at the hole in the living room ceiling and the water pooling on the floor.

Stella Sterling held another isolation suit in her hand. The medical room hadn’t started flooding yet. "Change into this and come out," she said. "We have to leave."

With a huge hole in the roof, the apartment was no longer habitable. Rain was pouring in relentlessly; sooner or later, the whole place would be flooded.

They had to leave as soon as possible. Stephen Lawrence didn’t dare to delay, quickly throwing the suit on over his clothes and following Stella Sterling out.
