Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me
Chapter 780: The last Remaining Continent
"So they're all coming." Daniel's voice was calm, so much so that it seemed as if it hadn't even been said to be heard.
Elisira was still standing in front of him, but now her gaze had changed slightly. She had been waiting for a different reaction: surprise, worry, or even excitement, mockery.
But she saw none of those. Just this stillness, this strange acceptance.
This gave her a strange feeling. How could someone be so calm about something like this? Is he that fearless? Is he that confident in his power?
But how? No matter how powerful someone is, they cannot stand against an entire continent.
But the man's next words shocked her even more.
"If the whole continent comes, then this will end much faster." Daniel continued, as if completing an unfinished thought.
Relief and even some happiness were evident in his tone. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Of course, he was happy to hear the princess's words. If the entire continent comes after him, doesn't that mean he can feed the tree more, and as a result, the fruit will be completed sooner?
And all of this meant one thing: he could conquer this floor sooner and leave this place.
Elisira's eyebrows furrowed slightly. She still didn't fully understand what he meant, but she felt one thing: this way of thinking… was not normal. No one looks at it that way when the whole continent mobilizes to kill them.
Could it be that this man was a deranged lunatic who didn't even understand his situation? Or…
"What… exactly do you want? Where did you come from? It's not possible that you're from the other two continents, right? That can't happen…"
"So what are you really? Why do you want to protect this tree? I don't believe for a moment it's because you were bored."
Daniel stared at her with a bit of amusement. His golden eyes, in the weak light of the forest, seemed deeper than before, as if something was moving behind them, something not easily seen.
"Tsk tsk, you can't get all the answers for free. You go first." But his answer was simple.
"Tell me more about this continent." He paused briefly, then asked without changing his tone.
Elisira was silent for a few seconds. This question seemed strange to her. Not because she didn't have an answer, but because she hadn't expected it. This was the first time she truly felt as if this man didn't know.
But she hesitated a little. Should she really talk? But she couldn't leave here without an answer!
Her curiosity had only gotten worse. She could barely control herself.
'Ughhh, Mom always said that one day my curiosity would be the death of me.' She sighed at her misfortune.
"As you know, this… is the last continent." She took a quiet breath and began.
Her gaze left Daniel for a moment and fell on the tree, as if it too was part of the answer.
"The Holy Empire… is the center of everything. A religious government built according to the command of the gods, to resist and fight against the force of corruption."
"I told you about the Divine Prophet before… a voice that is said to directly convey the will of the gods. Whatever she says… is considered a decree." She paused briefly, as if choosing her words carefully.
"You have exactly disobeyed one of her most important decrees, one that has mobilized the continent."
"Our mission is simple… at least on paper." Elisira continued.
A bitter smile settled on her lips, which quickly faded.
"To destroy the beasts of corruption… and preserve what remains of the world."
"Who are the strongest?" Daniel tilted his head slightly.
The information he had obtained so far was more or less known to him, at least all of it except that this continent is the last continent.
This had only one meaning, and it was clear from this girl's words that the other continents had been destroyed. If he had to guess, he would say it was the work of the beasts of corruption.
"Well, it's hard to give a complete answer to that question. There are many powerful people on the continent, like the Eternal Warriors and those who have approached the level of half step-Divine." This time, Elisira's answer came more quickly.
"And, well, they are the strongest, but there are some people… whose name alone is enough to stop a war. Like the Divine Prophet, or my father."
"If a public announcement has been made… they will also come, except my father, of course." She paused briefly, then added.
A brief silence fell between them. But this silence meant nothing to Daniel. His face didn't change in the slightest.
He had obtained notable information, but nothing that couldn't be reasoned without asking.
Clearly, the power system of this world was different from his world, but he didn't care much about knowing the details. He just had to protect this tree.
But there was something he was curious about.
"Has anyone before me… disobeyed the Prophet's order?" A few moments later, he asked the next question himself.
This time, Elisira didn't answer immediately. Her gaze fell, as if she wasn't sure whether she should speak about that taboo or not.
"One…" Her voice grew quieter.
"I don't know his name. Maybe no one does, because it's a taboo!"
Daniel looked at her a little more intently.
"A few centuries ago… the Divine Prophet ordered an entire city to be destroyed. She said it was infected with corruption and had angered the gods." Elisira continued, and every word carried weight.
"But one person objected."
"He said… 'If a human is still breathing in that city… this decree is wrong.'" Her gaze lifted for a moment.
"The continent declared a general mobilization against him. Everything progressed very quickly… He resisted as much as he could and killed many people. He even called the Divine Prophet a demon and swore to kill her, and then…"
"Of course, he was killed." She slowly exhaled.
This time, Daniel said nothing. His gaze just deepened a little. He preferred to take the side of this taboo figure over the Divine Prophet.
A few moments later, he asked the next question:
"Tell me about the situation of your continent and this resistance? Has it been successful?"
This time, Elisira answered with a delay, as if she was no longer a princess. Just someone who was tired.
"Not good."
"The beasts of corruption increase every day… Cities are falling one by one… The borders are retreating…" And then, the words came one after another.
Her breath trembled slightly.
"Out of three continents… two have been destroyed. And we… are the last continent."
This time, the silence that formed was heavier than anything that had come before.
Daniel looked at her, but inside, he was comparing.
In his own world, there was also collapse. One continent had been destroyed. But still… the balance had not been completely broken. Resistance still existed. In fact, the resistance was progressing well, and the situation was under control.
So the conclusion his mind reached was simple: this world… is weaker, or the invasion of the beasts of corruption in his world is more controlled.
But before this thought could fully form, Elisira spoke again.
"We were resisting… we really were."
"Until… the sky split in two."
"A rift… opened."
Her gaze slowly rose, straight into Daniel's eyes.
And she delivered the final sentence with a weight that seemed to end everything.
"And from inside it… he came."
