Back to the 1980s: Becoming the Villain's Lucky Wife
Chapter 161: You Shameless Bastard, How Dare You Seduce My Husband
Qin Jiao didn’t know if Shen Yi was impulsive now, but she knew his temper from her past life was like a firecracker—it would explode at the slightest spark.
Her father, on the other hand, was an honest, simple man who probably wouldn’t make a fuss.
Then there was Li Xiaomei, a shrewd and cunning woman. It was entirely possible she had orchestrated this whole incident herself.
She wanted to create a fait accompli, provoking Du Liya into leaving Shen Zhengfeng.
Besides Li Xiaomei, there was the scumbag Shen Zhengfeng, plus Chen Feng and Lin Nian—that pair. Qin Jiao was genuinely worried Shen Yi and the others would be at a disadvantage.
After all, while it was three against four—not a huge difference in numbers—the gap in emotional intelligence was likely enormous.
Squeezed together again, Shen Yi kept glancing over at Qin Jiao. Finally, she could no longer remain silent and explained, "I’m just worried you’ll be at a disadvantage."
"Thanks."
Qin Jiao turned her head away. ’It’s not like I actually want to help Shen Yi. I’m only doing this for Grandpa Du’s sake!’
When the three of them arrived at Chen Feng’s home, a "world war" was in full swing.
When Du Liya had shown up, she’d found her husband and Li Xiaomei acting just like a married couple, cuddled up together watching TV. Her rage instantly boiled over, and she marched right up and slapped Li Xiaomei across the face.
"You shameless bitch! How dare you seduce my husband!"
Du Liya lunged forward to keep attacking Li Xiaomei, but Li Xiaomei just clutched her face and hid meekly in Shen Zhengfeng’s arms. Shen Zhengfeng shoved Du Liya away, roaring, "Du Liya, are you insane!"
Du Liya truly was going insane.
She collapsed to the floor, asking in anguish, "Zhengfeng, didn’t you tell me you broke things off with her? Then why are you here so late at night? You two... you never broke up at all, did you?"
Tears streamed down Du Liya’s face. She simply couldn’t accept what she was seeing.
Li Xiaomei’s cheek began to swell. Huddled in Shen Zhengfeng’s arms, she trembled and said softly, "Du Liya, it’s not what you think. You’ve misunderstood."
Du Liya was furious. "I misunderstood? Then why are you two still wrapped up in each other’s arms?"
She might not be clever, but that didn’t mean she was an idiot!
Li Xiaomei started sobbing. "I was in trouble, and Zhengfeng was just helping me! Du Liya, you already stole him away from me. He married you. Can’t you even let him help me out a little?"
Shen Zhengfeng snapped back to his senses. He carefully helped Li Xiaomei settle onto the sofa, remembering that she had just had a miscarriage and was still recovering.
He glared at Du Liya. "Xiao Mei was in trouble, so I came to help her. She’s all alone, and life isn’t easy for her. Besides, you didn’t see us doing anything. Why are you making such baseless accusations?"
"But—but look at the time! A man and a woman, alone together... and you’re telling me nothing happened?!" Du Liya trembled with rage, her head buzzing and her thoughts a complete mess.
On one hand, she refused to believe her husband was cheating—she couldn’t bear the thought.
But on the other hand, how else could she explain the scene in front of her?
Shen Zhengfeng’s brow furrowed. ’God, I hate this crazy bitch,’ he thought. ’Du Liya jumps to conclusions over nothing. She’s so stupid.’ But on the other hand, he had just signed an agreement with Mr. Du. He couldn’t divorce her yet.
’Whatever,’ he thought. ’Du Liya’s an idiot. I’ll just sweet-talk her a bit, get her to go home for now. I can always come back to see Xiao Mei later.’
