Why are two feline Pet Beasts fighting?

Tang Yun keenly noticed the confusion in Chen Yuan’s eyes, cleared his throat, and quickly explained, "Advisor Chen, it’s a dispute between two gangs."

"Hmm?" Chen Yuan’s expression was taken aback.

Tang Yun first pointed to the Red Flame Striped Cat and slowly began, "Our school has taken in many stray cats. Here, they eat and drink well, living comfortably, even equipped with special identification tags."

It is well known that the cats and dogs living on campus are very happy, being fed by countless college students, enjoying a large area to roam, and often being petted by many students when they nap by the roadside.

"This Red Flame Striped Cat is one of them. Before it evolved, it was a very cute orange cat, affectionately called Little Orange by us."

"Since Little Orange was the first to evolve and is the strongest, all the cats in school follow its orders."

"It’s no exaggeration to say that Little Orange is the Cat Boss of our school." During their conversation, the Thunder-striped Leopard Cat hissed, its purple fur bristling as golden electric patterns burst with lightning, its speed suddenly increasing as it shot towards the Red Flame Striped Cat like a cannonball!

"Little Orange, be careful!" A kind-hearted student immediately warned.

"Meow!"

The Red Flame Striped Cat’s back arched slightly, the fiery stripes flowing with orange-yellow light. It deftly spun to evade the incoming claws, its flaming tail scorching a mark on the ground.

The Thunder-striped Leopard Cat, enraged, swiped its claws again, shattering brick fragments with arcing electricity, causing onlooking students to scream and scatter away.

The Red Flame Striped Cat narrowed its eyes, condensing the flame into a spinning round shield to protect itself, as sparks scattered like dandelions.

Compared to the constantly attacking Thunder-striped Leopard Cat, the Red Flame Striped Cat only defended, with a warm, admonishing purr in its throat.

"Meow Meow Meow!"

Suddenly, cat cries rose up as feline Pet Beasts darted out from all corners, igniting a melee as energy light waves burst forth.

The cats on the Red Flame Striped Cat’s side were all plump and strong, their smooth and sleek coats showing their well-nurtured lives.

The cats on the Thunder-striped Leopard Cat’s side were thinner and more ragged, yet they exuded a fierce and terrifying aura, as if ready to swipe at anyone foolish enough to pet them, possibly resulting in an expensive vaccine bill.

Students continued to flee and hide, while nearby vendors quickly pushed their carts away, creating chaos.

Chen Yuan was momentarily stunned: "Is living here really that tough?"

He had thought Qinling was already dangerous enough, unsuspecting that this city-based school could be even scarier.

"Uh....." Tang Yun gave an awkward smile, having to explain to possibly redeem the school’s image, "Even though it’s a fight, they’re actually quite restrained and won’t harm the innocent, stopping after a while."

Just as he finished speaking, a scream rang out:

"Ah! My hair is on fire!"

An unfortunate male student had inadvertently been caught in the crossfire, his hair catching flame.

A Beastmaster quickly deployed their Water-type Pet Beast, which spewed water to extinguish the flames but drenched the student entirely.

As cold winds blew, the unfortunate student trembled uncontrollably, his teeth chattering as he stammered, "Cold... I’m cold..."

A nearby Beastmaster stuck out his head: "I have a Fire-type Pet Beast."

The unlucky student touched his bald head, with a sob in his voice, "No... no thanks, really."

Chen Yuan looked toward the silent Tang Yun: "Really won’t hurt the innocent?"

Tang Yun: "Usually, it won’t. Let’s just say this guy was very unlucky."

Chen Yuan lightly uttered an acknowledgment, then asked, "How do you handle situations like this?"

Tang Yun responded without hesitation: "If the scale is large and civilians are injured, the Pet Adjustment Institute will come over."

The Pet Adjustment Institute, formally known as the Pet Beast Dispute Resolution Office, is responsible for resolving all Pet Beast-related disputes within the city.

Compared to the Investigation Department, the Pet Adjustment Institute handles ordinary events, dealing with small-scale scuffles.
