Chapter 103: Chapter 103: Hands-on Cooking Tutorial

[SOB SOB SOB, is Doctor Yelias trying to coax me?]

[I don’t care, he was totally asking for my permission! That’s right, we’re a couple now!]

[SOB SOB, a perfect, loyal man! I want him!]

Bai Su cleared her throat and looked at the camera. "Hello everyone, it’s your cute and sexy proprietress, Bai Su~"

"As you can see, we have a little apprentice in the stream today. But don’t worry, it won’t slow down our cooking progress."

"Alright, let’s get to work for the day!"

Bai Su turned to Yelias, who was beside her. "I got an apron for you. Want to put it on first?"

Yelias nodded. "Okay."

Bullet Comments: [AHHHHHH, the doctor in a white apron! The husband-material vibes are off the charts!]

[Is it too much to ask for him to randomly break into my house and have his way with me?]

[Why did Doctor Yelias suddenly start learning to cook? Does he have a female he likes?]

When Bai Su saw that comment, she couldn’t help but laugh. She looked at the man beside her. "They’re saying you’re learning to cook for a female you like."

Yelias stared at her, his eyes glinting. "That’s not out of the question."

The bullet comments instantly exploded in a frenzy, demanding to find out who this female was.

The two of them ignored the comments and got back on topic.

Bai Su looked at him. "Cooking is actually very simple. Once you learn one dish, similar types of dishes become easy. Let’s start by me teaching you how to make lemon shrimp balls today." 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

She scooped out the shrimp and placed them in a bowl. "First, you need to devein the shrimp, remove the heads and tails, and peel them."

Bai Su demonstrated on one, using a short, narrow knife to slice open the back of the shrimp and pick out the vein.

Then she deftly removed the shell and pinched off the head.

Yelias stared at the knife in her hand, his eyes flickering, but he didn’t step forward.

Bai Su pretended not to notice anything unusual. She pushed the knife into his hand and pulled him to the counter. "You try. It’s really easy."

She even thoughtfully found him a pair of disposable medical gloves that fit his skin perfectly, feeling almost like nothing was there and keeping his hands clean.

Yelias stared at the shrimp in his hand and pressed his lips together. He glanced at Bai Su, and seeing her watching him with a wide smile, he had no choice but to lower his head and try.

[AHHHHHH, Doctor Yelias’s expression is so heart-stopping!!]

[Proprietress, you’re so bold! Can’t you see our Doctor Yelias is a little hesitant about deveining shrimp? How can you be so cruel when he’s looking at you with those puppy-dog eyes? As punishment, you have to make him peel another 100 shrimp!]

[HAHAHAHAHAHA, the person above me, I’m dying! You’re not letting him off the hook either!]

[That look from Doctor Yelias is enough to melt anyone’s heart!]

Yelias pressed his lips together, his gaze filled with a hint of struggle, but he ultimately reached for the small knife.

A knife of this size was almost the same as a scalpel. He gripped the handle, staring at the fresh shrimp on the cutting board as a roar filled his ears.

Bai Su moved a little closer, subtly releasing her sweet, honey-peach scent. "Yelias, you don’t have to be nervous. It’s just a shrimp. If you mess this one up, there’s a whole bowl of them right here."

Yelias came back to his senses and met her clear, cool gaze. He relaxed slightly. "Mm..."

He tried to align the blade with the back of the shrimp, but his vision began to blur.

The tip of the knife started to tremble, and he couldn’t seem to find the right spot on the shrimp’s back to make the cut.

An image surged uncontrollably through his mind.

"Big brother, I trust you!"

A young girl’s clear voice rang in his ears.

Yelias’s breathing started to grow ragged.

Suddenly, a small, cool hand covered the back of his. "That’s not how you hold a knife!"

Bai Su’s amused voice sounded from beside him.

Yelias snapped out of the illusion, staring blankly at the person right in front of him.

The sweet honey-peach scent wafting from her slowly soothed his emotions.

Yelias came to his senses. "Sorry, I might not have a talent for preparing shrimp. Maybe I should..."

But Bai Su had already taken his hand, guiding it along with hers. "It’s actually very simple. Look."

Her voice was gentle as she stared intently at their overlapping hands.

She guided his hand, and the blade easily sliced through the shell and flesh on the shrimp’s back, revealing the black vein.

Still holding his hand, she used the tip of the knife to flick the vein out with ease.

Bai Su let go of him and stepped back to a safe distance. "See? Isn’t it easy? You’ve already deveined one."

Yelias stared blankly at the knife in his hand. The black vein was still hanging from its tip.

He pressed his lips together, finding it hard to believe he had actually held a knife.

Bai Su patted his shoulder. "Want to try again by yourself? Learning to devein a shrimp is a new beginning, you know. It’s okay if you mess up the cut."

’It’s okay if I mess up...’

Yelias stared at the shrimp in his hand and pressed his lips together.

Bai Su looked at him encouragingly. "You can do it, Doctor Yelias! Today’s lemon shrimp balls are all depending on you!"

Bullet Comments: [SOB SOB SOB, why does Doctor Yelias look so out of it? Could he have been captivated by the proprietress’s beauty?]

[Doctor Yelias is not that shallow!]

[But the proprietress’s beauty is anything but shallow! Even our great leader couldn’t resist her, let alone Doctor Yelias!]

[Stop talking, I’m crying!]

[When the proprietress held Doctor Yelias’s hand just now, I didn’t feel like he was being profaned at all.]

[I’ll say it quietly, but they actually look pretty good together.]

[Did you guys notice? When the proprietress held Doctor Yelias’s hand, his hand was actually shaking.]

[He must have been nervous!]

[I guess I could ship it. Hee hee, a multishipper fears nothing!]

[AHHHHHH, I won’t allow it! How could a divine being like Doctor Yelias descend to date a mere mortal! (No offense to the proprietress, she’s gorgeous too, but still... Waaah!)]

Yelias was amused by the bullet comments’ banter, and some of the heaviness in his heart dissipated.

He copied the way Bai Su had done it, removing the shrimp’s shell and head and placing the cleaned shrimp on a plate.

Picking up a new shrimp, he hesitated again.

He had just felt a shrimp twitch in his hand.

He gripped the knife, holding his breath again. "It’s alive?"

Bai Su, who was now preparing some beef, nodded. "Yep. Fresh shrimp tastes sweeter."

Yelias pressed his lips together and said nothing more.

Bai Su suddenly grew mischievous. She leaned in a little closer, staring into his eyes. "Are you scared?"

Yelias’s eyes flickered. "I’m not scared."

[HAHAHAHAHAHA, why do I suddenly find Doctor Yelias so adorable?]

[He’s scared, isn’t he? He’s definitely scared, right?]

[Doctor Yelias: It’s alive. Isn’t this a little cruel?]
