Becoming The Bigshot's Only Love After Breaking Her Engagement
Chapter 771 - 705: The Zhan Family’s Son Grown Up
"Does it matter who I’m doing this for?"
Zhan Hanjue retorted.
Mu Chen was taken aback, then after a moment of silence, he sneered, "True, it doesn’t matter. Anyway, there’s something more important coming up."
With that, Mu Chen hung up the phone.
Holding his phone, Zhan Hanjue felt an inexplicable feeling welling up inside him.
However, he didn’t think much of it and immediately headed to the area Mu Chen mentioned.
Sure enough, as he approached, he saw a medium-sized boat.
Zhan Hanjue instructed his men to approach and stop.
Someone on the boat lowered a ladder for them to board.
"Only you are allowed to come up."
The person who lowered the ladder said.
"Alright, I’ll go up alone."
Zhan Hanjue told the others to stay on the boat and went up by himself.
However, as soon as he boarded, the boat set off immediately.
Still, Zhan Hanjue’s yacht closely followed, not daring to relax for a moment.
The person who let Zhan Hanjue aboard took him to see Mu Chen.
At this moment, Mu Chen was watching the pursuing yacht on a screen.
He sneered and said, "Your men are truly loyal, but do they really think they can save you?"
"I’ve come as you asked. Can you give me the antidote now?" Zhan Hanjue asked.
Mu Chen had his back to Zhan Hanjue the entire time.
Upon hearing Zhan Hanjue’s words, he finally stood up and slowly turned around.
In fact, Zhan Hanjue hadn’t seen Mu Chen for a long time.
The last time was merely a distant glance, not seeing clearly.
Mu Chen looked... very much like his father.
"You look a lot like your father," Zhan Hanjue said. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Mu Chen’s face darkened, and he snorted coldly, "So, that’s why you don’t like me?"
Don’t like?
Zhan Hanjue frowned, not understanding why he would use such a term.
"I was friends with your father. I once thought he would be my lifelong friend. But in the end, we walked different paths."
"You don’t need to explain your relationship with him to me. I hate him, so there’s no need to play the family card with me," Mu Chen said.
Zhan Hanjue: "Are you still going to give me the antidote?"
"I’ll give you the antidote, but you must promise me one thing: go somewhere with me," Mu Chen said.
"Where?"
"You’ll know once we get there."
"You previously said if I came over, you would give me the antidote. Now you’re saying I have to go somewhere with you first. You’re being untrustworthy, making contradictory statements, can I still trust you?" Zhan Hanjue said.
Mu Chen chuckled lightly, "Do you really think you have the leverage to bargain with me now?"
Zhan Hanjue’s face turned grim.
Mu Chen said, "Just come with me obediently, and I assure you, the antidote will reach your people. Xia Luo is also my sister. We are twins, and I don’t want anything to happen to her. Trust me, as long as I achieve my goal, I never intended to harm anyone."
"Alright, I’ll trust you once more. But if you lie to me..."
"You can deal with me as you wish," Mu Chen said.
Zhan Hanjue agreed to leave with him.
However, Mu Chen didn’t trust him and had his hands cuffed and a blindfold placed over his eyes.
With the blindfold on, Zhan Hanjue’s vision went black, making him very uncomfortable.
He raised his hand, trying to find something to hold onto.
Suddenly, a hand reached out, letting him place his hand on it.
Zhan Hanjue showed a surprised expression.
"Mu Chen?"
"It’s me, I’ll guide you,"
Mu Chen answered in a low voice, coughing lightly.
Once again, Zhan Hanjue felt something strange in his heart, feeling that something was off with Mu Chen.
But he couldn’t figure out why.
Mu Chen led him, seemingly down a staircase and then up another.
Finally, they sat him down on a sofa.
About two hours later, Mu Chen removed his blindfold.
It was still an endless sea, but now, he couldn’t be sure of the direction.
Additionally, they had changed to another boat.
No wonder he felt like going down and then up a staircase; Mu Chen had taken him to change boats.
"Where are you taking me?" Zhan Hanjue asked in a low voice.
"Of course, we’re going home, Dad."
Mu Chen smiled brightly, uttering a term that left Zhan Hanjue horrified.
Zhan Hanjue’s pupils dilated as he stared at Mu Chen, seemingly stunned by the address.
Mu Chen, however, calmly said, "I know Dad must be very surprised now, why I call you that, and why I want to take you home."
"Indeed, I’m surprised. Can you tell me why?" Zhan Hanjue asked.
Since Mu Chen called him Dad, he felt awkward responding with harsh words.
His tone involuntarily softened, and his gaze became much gentler.
