Chapter 552: Edgar’s very best dream ever

Edgar wasn’t much of a reader, but he did enjoy spending time with the two men that he had stamped his claim on.

So he was more than happy to go along with the awkward suggestion that Gideon had made, all so that he could spend time with Cass and Edgar. Edgar walked between the two men, leaving Cass’ office and heading towards the room that had been designated as the library in this mansion, knowing that both men found that place rather tame.

Edgar shook his head, smiling to himself as Gideon and Cass spoke to each other excitedly about some book that Edgar hadn’t read. It didn’t seem to be one of the dirty books that Cass had taken a liking to since he’d come back from his little soul adventure, but a book that the more respectable members of society would read.

It wasn’t scriptures or magic, so Edgar likely hadn’t read it. That didn’t bother Edgar, not really. He was just happy that Cass and Gideon were getting along, and easily at that.

It had been hard on Edgar when they had been at odds. He was sure it had been hard for everyone when Gideon had been the one to betray the group and hurt everyone, including Edgar, but it had been particularly hard on Edgar himself. Edgar had been upset because Gideon had not only betrayed the group, but had also refused to speak to him about his issues and the concerns that he had. He hadn’t trusted Edgar in the slightest, and that part had hurt the most.

The knight had trusted his father over Edgar. That was a blow that Edgar might never heal from.

The sting of the moment didn’t hurt, however. Instead, it felt like years ago after the night they’d had previously. Aided by the moment that was unfolding before his eyes.

Cass and Gideon, both bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, discussing a book that Edgar had no fucking clue about, both animated in similar ways as they spoke. It was obvious that the two shared common interests, even if Gideon took more of a physical approach to things.

Granted, Edgar was sure that Cass would do the same if his body agreed with him. Edgar had noticed that the man was less of a flight kind of man and more of a fight kind of man. If his body was in perfect health, Cass would probably do things that Edgar wouldn’t even dream of.

Edgar chuckled, drawing the attention of the two men towards him, both glancing at the man between them. Cass drew his brows together, making him look like a cute, pouting little bunny. His red gaze was so sparkly and serious that Edgar just wanted to kiss him. He knew that the man would protest so he held back, instead reaching for his hand and taking it in his own.

That seemed to make Cass pout more, his soft, pink lips looking absolutely delectable, and Edgar knew that he wasn’t the only one who noticed.

Gideon looked a little flushed himself, so Edgar reached for his hand as well. Edgar grinned as he gripped onto both of their hands, united as one. His heart had ached when he’d heard that they had been doing things behind his back, but it melted away the moment that Cass hadn’t even considered doing anything without him. It had faded completely when they were in the bath and Cass had been watching them.

Edgar had worried that maybe Cass would be upset, or feel left out as Edgar had climbed into Gideon’s lap. He had also been a little worried to even see how Cass was looking at them, if he even was.

Edgar shivered as he remembered what look had awaited him when he had finally worked up the courage to do something so dangerous as it was brave. He’d looked over at Cass. What he had found had made Edgar even more turned on in the moment then he had expected.

The heat from his red gaze had been hot enough to scorch Edgar’s skin.

Cass had been looking at Edgar with so much lust in his gaze that Edgar had felt owned. It didn’t matter that Gideon had his hands all over him, his hard cock rubbing against Edgar, Cass’ gaze made it perfectly clear that Edgar? He belonged to Cass.

When Cass had slid his gaze to Gideon and the man hadn’t caught it? Edgar had worried he was going to spill his seed then. Cass was possessive of both of them.

Of all of them, and it didn’t appear that the man was aware of it.

It made Edgar feel a little giddy. It was like knowing a secret that the others didn’t know, but that was harmless. Safe. Like knowing what Cass’ favourite flavour of candy was.

Edgar was pretty sure he knew what that answer was. It was cum.

"What are you smiling about?" Cass asked, staring at Edgar quizzically and Edgar grinned. He squeezed both of their hands wordlessly, his happiness feeling almost criminal. He had never felt like this before in his life. He’d felt happy before, but this? This felt dangerous, it was so infectious.

"I’m just smiling that my two favourite people get along." Edgar told them, still grinning. It was amazing how both of them blushed instantaneously. Gideon looked bashful, almost stricken, while Cass was a gorgeous being.

A man who showed his emotions openly, brazenly, and still looked too handsome for his own good. It was criminal that people had thought he was villainous before. That he’d thought the same.

There was a small, nagging part in the back of Edgar’s mind that wondered if the awakening of Cass’ demon blood had anything to do with his current perception of Cass, but Edgar brushed that aside. Edgar was certain it had nothing to do with the awakening of Cass’ blood, and everything to do with who Cass was as a person.

"You’re joking." Cass sputtered, and Edgar grinned.

"Mm, maybe. Why don’t you two go back to your discussion, hmm?" Edgar suggested and Gideon gave him a suspicious look.

"Were you even paying attention to what we were discussing?" Gideon asked and Edgar grinned.

"Does that matter? I just want to spend time with you two. I don’t care how I do that." Edgar countered and Gideon closed his eyes. Cass groaned. Edgar was a little surprised by their reaction until Cass, blushing, pretty Cass, pulled Edgar close after glancing around and pressed a quick kiss against Edgar’s lips.

Edgar was surprised, but Gideon didn’t seem shocked at all. That alone was a surprise to Edgar. Cass glared at Edgar without any heat.

"Stop being so damn sweet. We’re having a pg moment today. None of...all of that." Cass warned and Edgar let out a soft breath. He had no idea what he’d just said to him.

"What?" Edgar asked, his fangs aching suddenly. Gods, he was so handsome. Edgar wasn’t even thirsty, he just wanted to sip on him for the sake of it. Cass’ gaze sharpened.

"That! That right there! Stop looking at me like I’m a snack, Eddie." Edgar felt his heart swell at the use of his nickname. Cass rarely used it, he rarely used nicknames at all. It was a precious moment indeed, and not lost on Edgar that he used it in a moment like this.

Edgar smiled, feeling his fangs descend slightly. He watched as Cass’ pupils dilated, his cheeks flushed and that hungry look that entered his eyes when he saw Edgar’s fangs showed itself. It was so damn hot that Edgar didn’t need anything else to get him going.

"No." Cass breathed, his eyes fluttering closed for a second before his eyes snapped open again. "I will not be tempted by you, demon." Cass whispered and Edgar let out a laugh.

"Then get to moving, bunny. Before I change my mind." Edgar said with a wink and Cass puffed his cheeks out, clearly annoyed that Edgar was teasing him. Edgar, however, was delighted. He slid his gaze to Gideon, wondering what he was thinking as he watched them flirt. Edgar’s heart stopped.

Gideon was watching both of them with such a protective, caring look that Edgar nearly stuttered in his steps. Gideon’s green gaze was soft, fierce and protective. When he noticed that Edgar was watching him, he raised their joined hands and pressed a kiss to the back of Edgar’s hand. Edgar felt his breath leave him in a shaky exhale.

"Be kind to our little bunny, hmm? Or else he might hide away." Gideon’s words took a second to process in Edgar’s mind, and when they did, a joy that felt illegal filled him. Theirs. Ours. His.

Edgar had never so much as dreamed that any of this could ever happen to him. Yet, here he was.

Not only was he with someone that he loved, he was with two of them. No one looked down on him, his secret was known and instead of being chased out, he was welcomed, accommodated. Edgar couldn’t have wished for this in his wildest dreams.

"I will do my best." Edgar told him, a bright smile on his face and Gideon, as if unable to stop himself, bent and pressed a soft kiss against Edgar’s lips as well. Unlike Cass’ kiss, this one was a surprise for Edgar.

Gideon smiled at Edgar as he pulled away, his gaze falling to Edgar’s lips for a long pause, Cass halfway down the hall at this point.

"Mmm. I don’t believe you." Gideon told him, squeezing Edgar’s hand in response.

"Hurry up you two!" Cass called, annoyed. Edgar felt his heart squeeze tightly.

Was it bad that he felt like he had stolen this happiness from Fiona? A little bit. Edgar knew that as a demon of the Vespertine family, he wasn’t supposed to feel joy or love or happiness like this. All those who had come before him had had miserable, horrible, unending existences until they passed away.

Edgar almost felt like this happiness was a curse. A dream that was going to be taken away from him. Edgar wondered if he had even escaped the dungeon that they had entered recently.

What if he was still inside? Sleeping his life away?

Edgar wasn’t sure if that would be such a bad thing, if this was the life he was living.

Edgar followed Gideon, the two catching up with Cass. Cass took Edgar’s other hand, giving it a squeeze as they continued towards the library. Even when they got there, they stayed together. The three of them finding a couch to lounge on, Edgar reclining across the other two as they read and discussed books, their hands never far from touching each other.

Edgar wasn’t even sure if they were aware of it, but he didn’t care. He didn’t want to point it out either. This was the best dream of his life. He wanted to stay in it forever.
