Seoha’s POV

I feel hot, like my whole body is on fire, but one part of me stays cold.

My throat hurts as I swallow, it feels dry and swollen, but I do my best to swallow again.

’I need water’ I think to myself, and just as I reach out, I feel a bottle of water on the floor.

Without sitting up, I uncap it and gulp some of the water, feeling most of it spill, but I don’t really care.

There’s an ice pack on my head, I can feel it pressing against my skin and reach up to touch it...is Minjae back?

My nose twitches as the smell of my surroundings gets to me, I can smell Minjae’s soft scent coming from the fabrics I’m lying on, and it feels like I’m on a couch.

I sit up to look around, wondering how I got home to Mi, the last thing I remember is standing in front of Taesan’s people.

Something about omega clothing...wait...I think I can remember something again.

’Alpha called us baby’ my omega supplies and a blush creeps up my cheeks.

’Baby’ he said the word in a soft voice, he sounded so full of concern for me, like he would pull me into his lap in front of everyone there.

"Yes, it tastes better now" a familiar deep voice says and my eyes widen.

Great, I’m so obsessed with him that I am starting to hallucinate, why am I hearing his voice coming from the kitchen?

I turn my head and find the broad-shouldered man sitting at the table in the small kitchen.

He seems to be on a call, and I get on my knees to get a better view of him, peeking over the couch.

He’s leaning forward with his arm on the table, focused on the call that seems like a video call.

"And is it still warm enough?" the voice asks and I let out a quiet gasp, that’s my grandma!

"He’s awake" Taesan says without turning his head.

I get out of the couch, I still feel lightheaded, but I rush to the chair, standing next to Taesan to see my grandma.

The alpha doesn’t let me stand, he grabs my waist and pulls me down on his lap, making me squeak with surprise.

With wide eyes, I look at his face, and he jerks his chin to the phone in his hand.

"Talk" he says and I slowly turn my head to it.

"Aigoo, look at my grandbaby, look at your face, you look so tired" my grandma gushes and I unintentionally pout like a child.

"Grandma, I missed you" I say to her.

The old woman moves closer to the phone, like she would enter and show up here.

"You miss me while sitting on a man’s lap?" she asks and out of embarrassment, I try to get out of Taesan’s lap, but he wraps his arm around my stomach like a belt.

"Stay still" he mutters against my neck, holding the phone for me, "focus on her" he says coolly like this is normal, and I follow his instruction.

"Grandma, how are you?" I ask and she turns her head to yell at someone passing by.

"Yes, it’s technology, I can see my Seoha and his boyfriend!" I hear her say happily and loudly.

"Grandma" I whine in shame and Taesan’s warm breath fans my skin as he lets out a silent laugh.

"I didn’t raise you to sit in a man’s lap if he’s not your boyfriend" she says to me, making me blush harder than I am already doing.

"Seoha is still shy about being mine" Taesan says, waking butterflies in my stomach.

"Get used to it my baby, many unmated omegas are on the hunt, aigoo, I better go before your meal gets cold" she says and I smile at her.

"I love you grandma" I say softly, making her mutter something about loving me more than cooking, distracted by something on her phone.

"How do I get out of this?" grandma asks, lifting the phone closer to her nose.

"I’ll end the call for us both, thank you grandma" Taesan says and ends the call.

Once the call ends, he places his phone on the table, I become aware of our environment and position.

I’m sitting on my boss’s lap in my best friend’s house...

"Here, eat this, it helps" he says and pulls a bowl of Jeonbokjuk to me, and I turn my head to look at him in surprise.

"Eat, if you don’t feel better by tomorrow, I’ll take you to a hospital" he says, avoiding my eyes but holding me tighter.

"You cooked for me" I say softly.

The alpha keeps looking at the table. I don’t stop looking at him, and slowly, his face starts to turn pink.

"Is it a fucking problem, omega?" he asks.

"You were mad at me earlier" I ask, sounding more cute than I intend to, and Taesan looks at my face.

"I wasn’t mad at you; I can never really be mad at you" he says.

"But...at work..."

"I was jealous" he says quickly and breaks our eye contact while my brows fly to my hairline.

Jealous? Kang Taesan...jealous?

"Jealous?" I ask and it dawns on me, he had seen me in the car with Hanbin and assumed, no wonder he walked away.

I start to laugh and the alpha lets out a gruff ’get off me’ while pressing his face into the back of my neck.

"You’re jealous of Hanbin?"

"Who’s Hanbin? Where does he live? What does he do?" Taesan starts to ask and my laughter gets worse.

"Ah shit...get off me" he says and I lean back into his chest, overwhelmed with a funny kind of happiness.

"You should only be jealous of the alpha that bit me" I say, feeling fuzzy in my chest despite the dizziness.

"An alpha bit you?" Taesan asks with growl and my stomach starts to ache from the laughter. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"Yes, Kang Taesan bit me" I say and I feel the tension leave his body immediately.

"Careful little deer, you might make the tiger hungry if you keep teasing like that" he says and my laughter stops immediately.

Oh...

I’m sure the tension sizzling between us isn’t from the heat radiating off my body.

We stare at each other for what feels like hours, and then as we slowly start to lean in, and as our lips are about to touch.

The door is forced open.

"I KNEW IT!" Minjae’s angry voice yells and I wince.
