Seoha’s POV

My body is frozen as I watch Minjae come into the house with his hands on his hips like a real mom.

"I can explain" I whine and Taesan snickers...yes, snickers, right behind me, not even giving me the chance to get out of his lap.

"Explain what?" Minjae says, stalking closer.

"I got sick, so Taesan brought me home" I say in a pitiful voice as Taesan pulls me even closer, pressing his nose into my nape.

Goddess...I miss having him touch me like this...

"Get out!" Minjae yells loudly when my scent flare with my thoughts, "goddess, you two are disgusting" my best friend says.

I pout and get out of Taesan’s lap.

My alpha walks past me quietly, heading for the door like he means no harm, but I see the glint in his eyes.

Goddess, no...Kang Taesan is also playful?

"Watch it, wild cat" Taesan says and Minjae’s eyes widen, he really hates being called a cat.

I rush forward, fever briefly forgotten as I try to stop Minjae from exploding.

"I will beat him! I have a black belt in judo, and I am a gym rat" Minjae points at Taesan.

The pregnant omega man I call a best friend is trying aggressively to take a bite of the big alpha while I hold him back with my body.

"See you soon, Bambi" he says to me, shoving his hands into his pockets and leaving.

"Woah! Your asshole is even bigger than I thought" my best friend complains and I whine to get his attention on me.

"Don’t say crude words, you’re pregnant" I say and he sighs.

"You left home for work, why?" he asks me with concern, cupping my cheeks as he inspects me.

"I’m sorry, I just couldn’t sit at home" I say, making Minjae roll his eyes, "just say you wanted to see your boy toy"

"Wow, you say the craziest things" I shake my head at him, in awe of how he comes up with all those kinds of things.

"Come here, you’re really heating up, have you eaten?" he asks, pressing his hand to my forehead.

"Taesan made me food" I point at the unfinished meal on the table; it is already getting cold.

"Is he dumb? Is food medication?" Minjae tsks, but I can see the small smile on his face that he’s trying to hide.

"He said if I don’t feel better after resting, I will be taken to the hospital" I mutter.

"Now go rest, oh, you look sexy" Minjae says, winking at me suspiciously and I look down at myself.

Oh, I forgot that I am dressed in one of his ’sexy’ clothes.

"Shut up"

"No wonder he cooked for you, you fox!" he exclaims, and I sigh, done with him.

"Good night, Minjae"

"It’s still noon, unless you did what should have been done at night during the day" he cackles and I start to blush.

"Leave me alone, my head hurts" I push him aside gently, tired of his endless jokes.

Taesan’s POV

The smile drops off my face as I find Junho leaning against the wall.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" I ask my righthand man, putting on the captain and boss air, but he only eyes me slowly.

"There’s food stain on you, boss" he says, sarcastically emphasizing the word ’boss’.

"Didn’t you say you were on break?" I ask, walking down the hall, and I know he’s following me without having to look back.

"Yes, I needed a break from you" he says in that forever stoic tone.

We go out of the apartment, and I look around for Junho’s car.

"Where is your car?" I ask.

"I came by public transport" he responds and I nod slowly, unable to give a reply to his response.

Junho is an introvert who struggles with being around people, if he took a bus, then whatever the reason for it must have been good enough.

"Did you settle with Seoha?" he asks and I nod, "Junho, track down the man in the car this morning" I order.

"I can’t do that"

I slowly tilt my head, giving him a commanding glare, but he doesn’t seem to mind.

"He’s a hard man to find, you’ve tried too many times" he says and I frown.

The only person I have ever had trouble looking for was Ghost, and that bastard has disappeared on me since he told me about Seoha’s parents.

"He’s Ghost" Junho says.

What? Ghost drove my own mate to my own company...and Junho knows about it?

"You knew all along?" I growl, grabbing Junho by the collar and slamming him against the wall, and the man grunts in pain.

"You fucking knew Ghost was hanging around my mate?" I snarl at him, all playfulness is gone as my alpha starts to rage inside me.

How could he keep that detail from me?

He knows how hard I’m fucking trying to keep Seoha away from my world and it’s madness.

"Calm the hell down, Taesan" Junho says through his clenched teeth.

He tries to push me off, but I don’t give him the opportunity, I pin him hard with my arm to his neck.

My hurt wrist starts to ache with the action, but I ignore it, clenching my teeth in anger.

I’m hungry to see blood on anyone that hurts my loved ones in any way.

One person already endangered my daughter, I can’t have another person endangering my omega.

I can’t stand another betrayal.

"They’re related, okay?" he roars breathlessly and pushes me off with all his strength.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

Junho holds himself against the wall as he tries to catch his breath, that’s when I realized just how hard I had pinned him...I could have taken his life.

Fuck...control, Taesan, control.

"They’re half-brothers, Ghost is Shin Yechan’s oldest son" Junho says and I freeze.

"I will kill him" I say simply.

No one that’s related to Seoha is worthy to be around him, not after the years of shit he has endured alone.

"You can’t kill him, Seoha is already attached, and he’s on your side" Junho says.

"He’s on my side? HE’S ON MY SIDE?" I roar with the anger building under my skin.

He set me up, he gave me the news about my parents’ death just when I was going to give Seoha my collar, and he’s on my side?

"Yes, trust me, he’s on your side...please, keep your voice down, people are starting to pay attention to us" Junho says, turning his head away.

I don’t give a fuck who hears, Seoha’s safety comes first...Ghost is on my side?

"What don’t I know?" I ask in a less aggressive tone and Junho meets my eyes.

"He’s with the real deed to the land your grandfather wants" Junho says and I completely stop breathing.

If Ghost is with it, it means that grandfather has nothing, and if grandfather has nothing and he hasn’t threatened me yet...it means that he’s plotting something.

"Release men to guard Sooin’s school and watch this place, we need to visit that bastard old lion" I sneer.
