BNHA: Spiritual Aura
Chapter 326: Deal!
--Saturday, August 1st, 2172
"Those with fortification-type quirks, come with me! Tiger’s training has begun!"
While the young students of Class B stood dazed by the presentation, Chatora announced firmly while pointing behind him. There, in a small clearing, Midoriya—wearing a vest and compressed weights on each limb—was performing an aerobics routine to the beat of music with an expression of desperation.
(That’s so outdated!)
While the same thought formed in the minds of several students, Chatora appeared like a ghost beside Midoriya, surprising some of the watching students, and ordered firmly.
"Now hit me with everything you’ve got!"
Upon hearing Chatora’s voice, Midoriya’s expression became focused, and with great fluidity he shifted from the aerobics movement into an attack stance, then unleashed a brutal strike toward Chatora. Taking advantage of his great flexibility, Chatora dodged the blow and the shockwave that uprooted the trees behind him while simultaneously countering with a merciless punch from an impossible direction.
As though he had been hit by a truck, Midoriya was sent flying backward from the blow in a straight line. After smashing through several trees in his path, he finally lost his momentum while destroying one last tree, crashing to the ground in a cloud of dust. At that moment, when it was hard to tell whether the young man was alive or dead, Chatora scolded him with his arms crossed.
"You’re still too lively! That means your muscle fibers haven’t torn yet!"
"... Yes, sir..." From within the cloud of dust, Midoriya’s pained voice rang out. Chatora scolded him again firmly.
"I can’t hear you!"
"YES SIR!" Midoriya announced in a louder but equally breathless voice as he emerged from the fading cloud of dust, clutching his stomach in pain.
...
"... That’s terrifying..."
Faced with the horrifying display, the Class B students could only exchange glances of disbelief, and even the teacher in charge couldn’t help but stare in surprise. Class A was frightening—he had known that for a long time—but now they all seemed far stronger than he had expected.
The power of their quirks and the technical ability he could see just from the training were terrifying to the point where he truly wasn’t sure he could win against even a couple of those students. But coming back to his senses, the red hero quickly announced loudly.
"U.A. is currently busy, so it’s difficult to dedicate specific staff to the first years."
"Based on their history, strength, and wide range of quirks, the Pussycats are the most logical option to develop your quirks in a short period of time." Aizawa added soon after in a calm voice, followed closely by Vlad King.
"Don’t fall behind, Class A! Let’s go, Class B!"
"""Yes!!"""
The Class B group replied in unison, then split up to carry out their own training, guided by Mandalay’s telepathic voice that resonated in their minds from time to time, offering timely advice.
...
...
...
After an entire day of exhausting training, the group of Class A and B students—hungry, dirty, sore, and practically half-dead—gathered in front of several wooden tables set up by the Pussycats. At that moment, Ryuko, standing before large quantities of ingredients, announced alongside Tomoko.
"Now, do you remember what I told you yesterday? Today is the only day we’ll take care of you!"
"You’ll have to make your own food! You’re making curry!" Tomoko added soon after in a playful tone. The group of students replied in near-lifeless unison.
"""Yes..."""
"Hahaha, everyone looks exhausted! But don’t make terrible food because of that!" Tomoko added, visibly playful and amused, which caused Neito Monoma of Class B to click his tongue with irritation.
"Not everyone—someone around here has been sitting all day playing on his computer without doing anything!"
"That’s true... It’s really frustrating to watch him doing nothing with fake weights..." Another student with a wild appearance—long hair and fangs—commented while looking toward a nearby mountain.
There, sitting against a rock, was an attractive young man with black hair and blue eyes, sipping lemonade with two cats, a laptop on his knees, and at least six compressed weights on each limb. The weights seemed as light as a feather given the speed at which he was typing.
"Sensei, are you giving special privileges to Saito Kai? Isn’t that a bit unfair to everyone else?" At that moment, Itsuka Kendo, a beautiful girl with orange hair tied in a side ponytail, asked in a serious but somewhat tired voice while looking at Vlad King.
"Of course it’s unfair! I heard that Saito Kai is related to the Pussycats!" Kosei Tsuburaba, a student with hair similar to Bakugo’s but brown and with large pupils, commented, visibly annoyed.
Sharing his students’ sentiment, Vlad King looked at the calm Kai, then turned to Aizawa with questions written on his face. At that moment, with a visibly relaxed attitude, Aizawa looked at Kai and ordered calmly.
"Saito, line up with the others—you have to help prepare the food too."
"Okay." Kai replied calmly, then stood up and tucked his laptop under his arm, at which point he began removing the compressed weights from his limbs one by one.
When Kai removed the first weight, it fell to the ground at a terrifying speed, creating an explosion on impact and leaving an enormous crater. Under the students’ incredulous stares, Kai removed his weights one by one—each, without exception, creating massive craters in the ground.
When all the weights had fallen, Kai stretched lazily, releasing terrifying cracking sounds into the air, making the students subtly flinch with each one. Using the cracking sounds as a backdrop, Aizawa looked at Class B and explain with a subtle smile on his face.
"The weights Saito Kai was wearing have a combined weight of over 60 tons. Because his strength is so immense, his training focused on control, precision, and endurance—specifically, not damaging his computer while carrying the equivalent of 6 passenger buses. Any more questions?"
"""..."""
Aizawa’s words caused a deathly silence among the students, which made Ryuko and Tomoko laugh in amusement. For his part, Aizawa nodded with satisfaction and said in a calm voice.
"Perfect, then get to work."
...
...
...
"Who told you to go get prey?"
A short while later, while everyone was preparing curry outdoors, Kai couldn’t help but stop chopping vegetables and look at Salem to ask. Salem, who measured several meters, dropped the enormous adult boar he was carrying in his jaws and roared powerfully at the sky in a way that somehow seemed proud. While some students were startled and sought cover from the terrifying giant panther, Kai slapped his forehead and said in exasperation.
"The whole ’make your own food’ thing was for the students, not for you. Besides, what do you intend to do with that boar? Eat it raw?"
Salem roared cheerfully again while Tama walked around one of his enormous paws with her tail held high, visibly proud. Almost reflecting on his life choices, Kai looked at the absurd, overdeveloped cat and said helplessly.
"Since when do cats want a damn barbecue? You don’t even know how to start a campfire."
Salem roared back with a smug expression as electric sparks flashed around him, causing Kai to slap his forehead again and comment, now fully defeated and surrendering to the circumstances.
"Don’t try anything stupid—if you use your lightning, you’ll end up with a piece of charcoal. Go bring me one of the trees Midoriya knocked down over there, and I’ll prepare your damn boar."
Salem roared cheerfully while Tama leaped onto his back, and he shot off to find a tree. Letting out a sigh, Kai stood up with his knife in hand, then walked over to the enormous boar. In the back, Itsuka Kendo from Class B couldn’t help but look at Momo, who was nearby, and asked with a slightly worried expression.
"That panther... Is it safe?"
"Ah, yes, Salem is just a little playful, but he won’t hurt anyone." Momo replied with a small laugh, which made Mina’s and Jiro’s smiles tighten, and Mina commented with certainty.
"Saito can definitely understand animals..."
"He’ll never admit it, but I think the same." Momo replied in amusement as she set aside the spoon she was holding to walk toward Kai. Curious, Jiro began walking alongside Momo and asked while watching Salem drop an enormous tree in front of Kai.
"Do you want to help him prepare the boar?"
"Ah, no, Kai is very good at cooking—I’m just bringing him some ingredients." Momo said with a smile, then looked back at Mina, who had also followed her, and said in a low voice.
"You girls are lucky today—Kai doesn’t cook seriously very often, so when he’s done, make sure you grab what you can, or the Pussycats won’t leave you anything."
Hearing Momo, the girls couldn’t help but look over at the Pussycats in the distance, who were staring at Kai with sparkling eyes—Tomoko even wiping drool from her mouth. At the same time, Vlad King couldn’t help but approach Aizawa, who was sipping tea while reviewing some documents, and asked seriously.
"Is it alright for an animal with such a dangerous quirk to roam around freely?"
"Director Nezu personally approved it and got a license for Saito to keep him. That cat is very intelligent and follows Saito’s orders to the letter, so there’s no real danger—and he’s one of the defenses we have in place to protect the students." Aizawa replied in a calm voice without lifting his eyes from the documents.
Vlad King fell silent for a moment, watching Kai casually wave his knife in the air and cut the enormous tree with terrifying precision before carving up the boar with equal ease. Swallowing hard, Vlad King couldn’t help but comment with visible gravity.
"Now I understand why Cementoss is so cautious about that boy... He’s truly terrifying."
"He is. In pure combat, there’s possibly no one at U.A. capable of stopping him besides All Might—and perhaps the director could devise some kind of plan against him if necessary. His physical strength appears to be of the mutant type, which makes him immune to my quirk, and the Force Control he inherited from Iron Palm is capable of boosting it even further."
Aizawa explained calmly as he brought his tea to his lips. Vlad King couldn’t help but fall silent, watching Kai dismember the boar with a bone-chilling ease, and commented in a solemn tone.
"...I’ll help you keep an eye on that boy."
"Do as you wish, but Saito doesn’t take well to authority, so don’t confront him alone, or you might end up on the ground before I get there." Aizawa commented in an unusually amused tone after taking a sip of tea. Vlad King looked at Aizawa with a frown and soon walked away, speaking in a serious tone.
"You won’t have to worry about that."
...
...
...
"... That smells way too good... Do you think we can have some?"
Swallowing hard, a Class B student couldn’t help but comment alongside Kaminari, who was staring fixedly at the boar meat turning on an improvised spit while Kai grilled select pieces on a grill. Snapped back to reality by the voice, Kaminari wiped the drool from his face and commented in a tone heavy with longing.
"I don’t know... Why don’t you go ask him?"
"Aren’t you his classmate?" The student—short, with what appeared to be purple balls instead of hair—asked in a slightly frightened voice. Kaminari replied with a bitter expression.
"You think that changes anything? Last time I only survived thanks to the class representative, or I would’ve ended up worse off than you."
"But you survived—I spent all afternoon in the infirmary shaking from that panther’s electricity." Minoru Mineta of Class B couldn’t help but comment with lingering fear, which brought heavy expressions to the pair. At which point Mineta couldn’t help but add, filled with resentment.
"But we can’t let this keep going! That damn guy has all the ’meat’! Look at all those girls around him! Even the beauties from my class are looking at him! Damn it all!"
"If you want to die, do it alone—I still have a long life ahead of me." Kaminari commented, taking a step back in fear.
At that moment, Todoroki stood up not far away and began walking toward Kai. Under the expectant gaze of all the longing students, Todoroki arrived in front of Kai and asked in a calm tone.
"Saito, do you think I could have some? I can help you prepare your part of the curry."
"Deal—I’ll give you something later." Kai replied casually while turning a huge piece of meat with tongs. At that moment, Salem, who was resting on Kai’s shoulder, let out a displeased meow, which led Kai to reply casually.
"Then go get another one. I’m the one making it, so half is mine."
Salem meowed at the sky and leaped off Kai’s shoulder, then shot off into the forest, leaving an electric trail. At that moment, Aizawa’s voice rang out from behind.
"Saito, don’t go overboard with the meat."
"It’s fine." Kai replied without giving it much thought, at which point Itsuka Kendo approached Kai and asked in a slightly shy voice.
"Saito Kai... Could we also have some meat? It smells too good..."
"Then help Momo and the girls prepare their curry—they’re my cooking assistants now." Kai commented in a casual voice while using a piece of onion to brush a homemade sauce onto the meat. The beautiful orange-haired girl smiled cheerfully and said eagerly.
"Understood, leave it to us!"
"Kai, don’t forget our share!" At that moment, Tomoko commented from behind with concern. Kai smiled in amusement and replied while receiving from Momo a small fan she had created with her quirk to fan the coals.
"Of course not—the best part is for you all."
"Saito..." At the same time, Uraraka approached, slightly embarrassed, which made Kai let out a sigh and comment while looking at the group of longing students staring at him.
"Everyone who wants meat has to prepare extra portions for Momo and me—we eat a lot, so get to work. Also, we’ll only handle the meat; you take care of everything else. So we eat and leave, and you clean everything up. Deal?"
"""Deal!!"""
The group of students replied with a burst of energy, at which point Momo walked up to Kai and kissed him on the cheek, visibly proud—something Mina watched in an almost enchanted state before snapping back and refocusing on turning the improvised spit as she had been asked to do. But that small interlude did not go unnoticed by Jiro, who let out a small sigh before glancing from the corner of her vision at the happy Momo and Kai.
