Breeding System:My Five Beast Husbands Want Heirs
Chapter 55: Will she ever awaken?
Her head felt like a whirlwind. It all passed by like a blur, the voices. The panic. The rush and treatment. Everything that unfolded when she was carried out of the hot spring played in her mind like a recap of a tragic incident.
Mira felt warm water taint her forehead, it consumed the recap and made it zap behind her mind like a warped hole swallowed it. This made her brows crease and she opened her eyes. The first face she saw was Jia Hao’s.
He was the one giving her the bed bath. "Jia Hao." Mira whispered. The ache on her body was gone. She could speak normally too.
Jia Hao had a mix of shock and happiness in his eyes as she called his name. He was overwhelmed with emotions that he raised her torso up the fur bed and pulled her to him for a hug. "You’ve awakened." He whispered, circling his hand around her back while feeling her body like he wanted to validate this moment as reality.
Mira stayed still, letting him hold her. She forgot the feel of his body. She forgot how much she missed feeling his muscled chest on her body. She felt very ancient.
"Thank you for not giving up on me." Jia Hao breathed. He did not want to let go.
"How long have I been passed out?" Were the first words that left Mira’s lips since the hug.
"A week." Jia Hao did not break the embrace, still shielding her against his body.
A week?! She had passed out after the naming ceremony for over a week? That seemed so far away.
"And what of my babies? Who fed our cubs? How many of my children are still here? I want to see my babies!" Mira gushed and broke the hug. The last thing she remembered before falling was Ming Tao threatening her with her child.
Ming Tao. Her own husband. The thought of it made her body hair stand. He hated her that much that he was willing to use the one thing she suffered for and cared for against her. And he did not care how much she begged. He never cared at all.
[Rise and shine, host!
It feels so good to have you awake in good health!] system chimed.
[With you gone, there was no one else to mock or be sarcastic with. System admits to missing your funny wonder!]
A smile formed on Mira’s lips. At least she knew she was not transmigrated again, if that was even possible.
"The children are fine." Jia Hao responded. "As for breast feeding, I think I should keep that detail for another time." He sounded nervous.
Mira raised a brow and looked at him suspiciously. She folded her arms across her chest. She needed answers asap. "Did you feed them my milk when I was passed out? Or did you have them drink from someone else?" Mira asked.
"Both, in a different sense." Jia Hao admitted. He sounded nervous. He was never nervous.
Mira squinted. "Go on."
Jia Hao scratched the back of his head. "I made them suck my-" He cleared his throat. "You know. They uh-" His hand movement gestured something round and fleshy before his chest but he could not utter the words.
Mira almost laughed. Her mouth drew open as he said that. She almost smacked him. "What do you have other than flat chest filled with muscles? My poor babies." Mira snickered.
"As for milk, we had a pregnant mid wife volunteer to provide. Only the ones suitable for the babies."
That was relieving. The last thing Mira wanted was to hear the babies she bled to give birth to died of starvation because she went into a coma.
"All six of them?" Mira asked. This was her way of checking in on her cubs.
Jia Hao nodded. "All six of them."
She sighed with relief. The past week must have been chaotic for everyone. Especially the man she slept with just before that terrible accident. Jia Hao was the first person she saw when she opened her eyes. She could not even begin to imagine what he went through. He must’ve taken care of her all through the week, hoping she had a chance to survive and be with him again.
Her poor kitty must have been through so much.
Mira stretched her hand to meet Jia Hao’s face and patted him on his face. His head rested on her palm, enjoying the softness of her fingers. "I am so proud of you, Jia Hao. For holding on. For waiting for me." Mira said. He also tackled being a single dad this past week and she knew he must have been the best at pulling that off despite the frustration. Her big kitty made her feel so proud.
Jia Hao’s ears twitched and his tail wiggled. Her pat felt so nice. If perseverance got him this treatment then he would persevere more often, he thought!

Good job!]
"Mira." Jia Hao called. His tone was serious. Mira put her hand down to listen to him without distractions. "I need you to tell me what happened. I want to get rid of everything that could lead to that happening again please, be honest with me." He stated.
Mira’s smile wavered. The memory was fresh in her mind. Her panic on knowing Hye Yang was in the pride and alone with her babies. Her panic of losing one of her cubs. How insanely frustrating it was to pace through the distance with aching legs. How Ming Tao played with her emotions. How she fell. Especially how she fell. "I-" Mira began.
Someone made their way into the room. Mira’s body hair stood. Her nose caught his scent before she saw him. Her body shivered and she shifted back into the bed. Jia Hao’s brows furrowed. He noticed the subtle movement of her body in reaction to Ming Tao’s presence. He trailed his eyes between her and Ming Tao.
Something happened between these two and on every form of restraint he had in him, he hoped it was not what he thought.
