Campus Ace Girl
Chapter 953 - 952: Not Enough People to Invite Uncle
Gu Mingzhu snorted coldly. "Qin Siyuan is good-looking too."
Then Gu Anxi started laughing, with a meaningfully wicked look, even deliberately glancing at Qin Siyuan.
Qin Siyuan sighed. Gu Mingzhu really doesn’t seem that bright. With that tiny brain of hers she still tries to bicker with Gu Anxi? Just a few lines and she’s already been led around in circles.
Over here, it did take Gu Mingzhu quite a while to react, then her face turned red. She stomped her foot. "We’re leaving."
She walked off in a rush. Qin Siyuan followed behind her with his usual good temper, walked a few steps then stopped, turned back, looked at Gu Anxi and spoke softly, "Take care of yourself."
This time, he really let go.
He was sincerely wishing her happiness.
There was still a trace of lingering attachment in his eyes. Gu Anxi smiled faintly. "Siyuan, you too."
Qin Siyuan’s nose stung a little. It’d been so long now, what, two years, three? She finally called him "Siyuan" again.
Only, the "Brother Siyuan" from childhood would never come back, and she’d never again call "Qin Siyuan, Qin Siyuan" in front of others.
He gave her one last look, smiled as well, and slowly headed downstairs.
Gu Anxi leaned against the wall and quietly watched. After a while, Little Uncle Bo came over, patted her shoulder. "This is the second goodbye already, huh?"
She withdrew her gaze and landed it on Little Uncle Bo’s face, countering quite seriously, "Little uncle, are you getting jealous again?"
"Not really." He pinched her little face, led her to the dining room for breakfast and to drink her tonic.
At the dining table, Gu Anxi ate her breakfast in small bites, then ran over to the window after a bit to look downstairs.
Qin Siyuan’s car had already slowly driven out of the courtyard. She ran back again to continue drinking her medicine.
Bo Xichen smiled. "You really don’t mind?"
"Mind what?" She played dumb.
Bo Xichen rubbed her hair. "You know they’re living together. Give it enough time, something’s bound to happen."
Because Gu Mingzhu and Anxi look somewhat alike, and she’s pretty clingy with Qin Siyuan, they’re about the same age, don’t seem to dislike each other when they look at one another—things like that just naturally happen...
When he asked like that, Gu Anxi just smiled. "What’s there to mind? I’m not that universal in my love, okay? If I still cared I wouldn’t be with you."
She took a sip of medicine. "Using someone I dislike to get rid of someone I dislike—doesn’t that work out perfectly?"
Little Uncle Bo laughed, looking extremely good when he did, like the morning sun.
Gu Anxi looked at him, then lowered her small head again to drink her medicine. After a while, Little Uncle Bo asked her softly, "Want to take a shower?"
She looked down at herself, sniffed, then looked at him... and her little face went hot.
Little uncle wasn’t that little uncle anymore...
But he was just teasing her. After taking care of her for a while, the two of them went their separate ways. Bo Xichen was busy with his experiments these days, pretty much every day, and might not be back until late. Gu Anxi, on the other hand, was heading to Wang’s Company. Dad Bo personally drove her. As he drove, he brought up Gu Mingzhu.
Sitting beside Bo Nianyao, Gu Anxi smiled lightly. "It’s good for her to be in a relationship right now."
If she kept bottling it up, she’d choke herself sick sooner or later.
Bo Nianyao kept his eyes on the road. "That young Master Qin seems like a decent guy."
Manager Ma in the back seat, lacking tact as usual, piped up with an extra question. "He really is Little Gu’s ex-boyfriend?"
Gu Anxi: ...
Dad Bo didn’t mind at all, chuckling cheerfully. "Shows our girl’s taste isn’t bad. Mingzhu’s getting a bargain, that kid."
Gu Anxi couldn’t help saying, "He’s not as great as you’re making him sound. He’s definitely not as good as little uncle."
After all, he was several years younger than Bo Xichen and far less mature than Little Uncle Bo.
That, Dad Bo liked to hear, chuckling happily. Manager Ma added a round of flattery. "The eldest young master is perfection itself, you can’t find a single flaw."
"Old Ma, now you’re exaggerating." Bo Nianyao smiled.
The car quickly arrived at Wang’s Company.
The company looked quite imposing—at least forty-eight floors, a landmark in Jiangcheng. And the old man had a lot of status in Jiangcheng; back then, aside from a Lin Yuan, his status was the most prominent.
Gu Anxi got out of the car with Manager Ma, said goodbye to Bo Nianyao. Bo Nianyao lowered the window. "If something comes up, tell Dad Bo. Lin Yuan’s in Jiangcheng now, makes things easier."
Gu Anxi answered with a hum, waved, and watched the car drive off.
Only after the car was far away did Manager Ma say, "Are we going straight in now? What do we do if the old man’s not here?"
Gu Anxi glanced at him. "The office is already set up. We just go straight up."
She headed inside. Manager Ma lowered his voice. "Shouldn’t we give a heads-up? The local snake’s always better than the visiting dragon, right?"
"What are you scared of?" Gu Anxi slanted him a look. "What, they’re going to send another team to surround the place? The two of us aren’t enough? We’re not tall enough to stand our ground?"
Manager Ma immediately expressed his unconditional faith in her.
However, just as he’d expected, they were indeed blocked by the receptionist—no doubt on the Wang uncles’ orders.
"I’m sorry, if you want to see President Wang, you still need to make an appointment first." The receptionist smiled politely.
Gu Anxi smiled with her eyes narrowed. "Then may I ask if President Wang is in?"
"President Wang is in a meeting." The receptionist kept smiling. "He’s instructed us that he won’t be seeing anyone today."
All right then, they were clearly picking a fight with her. Looked like Old Wang’s words were something he’d decided to ignore.
At this moment, Manager Ma offered a suggestion. "Want to flash the equity document and blind her with it?"
Gu Anxi gave him a sideways look. "That’s really naive. Weren’t you the one saying the visiting dragon can’t beat the local snake? You think she’ll do what I say after seeing that? Those are all my uncles’ people; they only listen to what comes out of his mouth."
Manager Ma was dumbfounded. "So we just slink off with our tails between our legs?"
Gu Anxi smiled faintly. "Not exactly."
She pulled a warrant of arrest from her pocket and laid it on the front desk. "This—will it get me in to see your President Wang?"
The receptionist was stunned. One look and she saw it was stamped and everything.
But she quickly thought it through. The other side only had two people; they couldn’t kick up too much of a fuss. So she still persisted and called Wang Kefu.
Over there, after Wang Kefu discussed it with his second brother, they decided to play dumb.
If they didn’t let her in, what could Gu Anxi do?
What a joke. Letting her in was like inviting a wolf into the house. What were they going to eat and drink afterward? That girl eats people and doesn’t spit out the bones, kills without seeing blood.
The receptionist hung up and looked a bit troubled. "I’m sorry, Miss Gu, President Wang says... it’s inconvenient."
"Inconvenient?" Gu Anxi let out a soft laugh. "Okay. Inconvenient."
She raised her hand and snapped her fingers. At once, around two hundred fully armed men poured into the lobby, all holding black-muzzled weapons... The receptionist had never seen a scene like this. Her legs went weak on the spot, her voice stammering. "Y-you... this is..."
Gu Anxi lightly tapped the warrant of arrest on the desk, her voice very calm. "Now, can I go up?"
The receptionist lifted her eyes to those black muzzles, her voice trembling. "I still need to notify President Wang."
Unhurried, Gu Anxi sat down on the sofa with Manager Ma and took out her phone to play.
The men formed a circle, their presence overwhelming.
The entire Wang’s Company was shaken.
The two Wang brothers rushed downstairs as fast as they could, fuming with anger.
This Anxi was way out of line. Their own company, and she brought a whole armed squad here—was she staging a coup?
On the way down, they called Old Wang to complain, saying this was a wolf cub come to swallow the Wang family whole, that she absolutely couldn’t be kept, and that the old man should hurry and take back the gift before it was too late.
Once the call ended, the brothers reached the ground floor.
One look at those two hundred black muzzles, and they were instantly dumbstruck.
This, this... was way over the top!
They’d heard that last night the Bo and Lu families had some minor friction—Lin Yuan had mentioned it. They’d thought it was nothing serious. Who knew it was on this scale.
Sweat broke out on Wang Kefu’s forehead. He hurried over in tiny steps. "Anxi, if you want to come see your uncles, just come see us. What are you doing bringing all these people?"
Still seated, not moving, Gu Anxi kept her eyes on the game console in her hands, speaking lazily, "Uncle, you’re too busy. If I don’t bring more people, I can’t get you to come down."
