City's Best Divine Doctor
Chapter 1867 - 1827: Enjoying a Seafood Feast
Taxi drivers are in collaboration with those hotels, earning commissions for each customer they bring. Currently, this Hong Kong taxi driver is heading towards a seaside five-star hotel at Victoria Harbour.
Upon arriving at the entrance, the taxi driver called the hotel, and Ye Qiu paid with Huaxia Yuan before he and Liu Lingxiu stepped out of the car.
Ye Qiu and Liu Lingxiu walked inside, and as soon as they reached the front desk lobby, a female attendant approached them.
"Sir, is it the two of you?"
"Didn’t the taxi driver just inform you?"
Don’t assume Ye Qiu doesn’t understand Cantonese. Besides, he knows it well and can speak it too.
The female attendant looked a bit embarrassed; taxi drivers definitely earn commissions for bringing customers, which is an unwritten rule worldwide. The commission might even exceed the fare.
"The best double deluxe suite, with views of the Victoria Harbour nightscape."
"Sir, we do have that."
It’s not peak season, rather it’s during the off-season, so there are plenty of suites available.
"This double deluxe suite costs 3,888 Hong Kong dollars for tomorrow. How long would you like to stay?"
Currently, the Hong Kong dollar doesn’t differ too much from the Huaxia Yuan. Over three thousand a night is certainly not cheap.
"Let’s stay for two days first. We’ll see if we want to continue later."
After Ye Qiu and Liu Lingxiu handed over their IDs and permits for check-in, they paid a deposit with UnionPay card. Ye Qiu used a black gold card, which could be used anywhere.
The cashier and the female attendant exchanged a look toward Ye Qiu, distinctly different.
Although aware that many wealthy people come from Mainland China, the two had just seen Ye Qiu’s attire and couldn’t believe it.
"Sir, are you from Pengcheng or Yangcheng?"
Ye Qiu’s Cantonese was very standard, leaving both women unable to discern.
"From Jinling."
With his black card and documents retrieved, Ye Qiu and Liu Lingxiu took their belongings up to the hotel suite.
Upon swiping the room card and entering, it was evident that the interior was very luxurious. Most notably, it faced the Victoria Harbour, offering almost a 180-degree view of the entire harbor.
In broad daylight, besides viewing the bustling harbor, the sight was full of ships, surrounded by coastal skyscrapers.
Previously, Liu Lingxiu had only seen photographs in books but now appreciated the genuine view.
However, to Ye Qiu, it seemed comparable to the view on the East Sea.
Ye Qiu put down his belongings, ready to take Liu Lingxiu to eat.
This side was not only tourism paradise but surely a food paradise too.
"Lingshow, how about I take you to a real seafood feast?"
"It might be quite expensive."
"I’ve got plenty of money; this is nothing."
After pulling Liu Lingxiu out of the room and heading down by elevator, upon asking at the front desk about the best seafood restaurant in town, while the hotel offered a seafood buffet for hundreds per person, it likely wouldn’t match the experience of dining out.
"Mr. Ye, let me recommend a few places for you."
Reading the slip handed by the front desk attendant, Ye Qiu then exited with Liu Lingxiu, hailed a taxi, showed the driver the destination, and the driver’s car headed there.
While on the road, Huo Yingying called.
"Ye Qiu, where are you?"
"I’m about to take Lingshow to a seafood feast. What’s up?"
As for Huo Yingying, Ye Qiu neither liked nor disliked her, perhaps because he simply wasn’t fond of the entertainment industry.
"My grandfather is awake, and my family wants to invite you to the Huo family for dinner."
"No need to bother; we’re better off playing freely on our own."
In truth, Ye Qiu was unclear about the status of Huo Yingying and the Huo Family in Hong Kong, nor did he care. He planned to have two good days with Liu Lingxiu before obtaining a visa and flying to France.
Even as Huo Yingying wished to say more, Ye Qiu had hung up.
When the driver stopped, he said, "Sir, this is the spot your address mentioned."
Ye Qiu paid the fare, led Liu Lingxiu off the car, and discovered a bustling area dominated by seafood restaurants.
Ye Qiu and Liu Lingxiu walked toward one establishment, and since it was lunchtime, it was quite crowded. Walking inside, they instantly sensed the enticing aroma.
"Sir, table for two?"
"For two, I’d like a private room."
With the noisy surroundings being too much, Ye Qiu was displeased.
Led by a female attendant to the third floor into a private room, both sat down as the attendant presented the menu.
The prices were clearly detailed, with a single King Crab costing more than 3,000 Hong Kong dollars, and other items like lobsters being very pricey.
Liu Lingxiu glanced at it, somewhat surprised, fearing the meal might cost tens of thousands.
"Are these the menu prices?"
"Yes, sir, all our dishes here are air-flown from abroad, guaranteed fresh. Moreover, we offer transparent pricing, no gouging customers."
Three thousand for a King Crab, something many might be unable to afford.
With limited appetite, Ye Qiu ordered a King Crab, a whole abalone, an Australian lobster, and about seven or eight dishes.
They also ordered a bottle of wine.
"Sir, are you sure?"
"I’m sure."
After the attendant left, Ye Qiu asked Liu Lingxiu to call back home to Jinling.
Liu Lingxiu first phoned her parents.
Not knowing that Liu Lingxiu was following Ye Qiu to Hong Kong, Liu Daqing and his wife advised her to stay safe without adding much else.
Liu Lingxiu then called Chen Fang and Ye Xue, who upon hearing Ye Qiu had finished treating someone and was now dining, similarly reminded them to stay safe.
After half an hour, the ordered food started arriving. Unquestionably, the Hong Kong-style Cantonese dishes were particularly delightful, with a distinct aroma upon delivery.
Both began eating and drank the wine.
By the hour past two in the afternoon, they were finally full, and Ye Qiu avoided waste.
After eating, they washed hands and called the female attendant for the bill, which exceeded ten thousand with the wine.
Watching Ye Qiu pay with a card without hesitation, these Hong Kong attendants perceived his wealth.
Exiting the seafood restaurant, Ye Qiu and Liu Lingxiu took a car back to the same five-star hotel.
In the afternoon, accustomed to napping especially after eating and drinking some wine, Liu Lingxiu felt a bit drowsy.
