Conflux System: I Can Merge Anything
Chapter 96: The Accused Is Missing
Our hearts aren’t plastic, and it is not a toy, but if we want it broken, give it to someone else and ask if they like it.
In Dwarkam, however, there was no need for toys.
The gutterborns fulfilled that need.
They were the toys for the rich.
And a gutterborn who is also a child? That was a toy most sought by everyone who had the money to play.
Kairon was one such lucky buyer. Heck, he got it for free.
For him, Milo was his toy as long as he had her.
He played with her fear, terrified her, wounded her and when his free trial was about to end, he did what everyone does with their toys.
Discard.
Kairon finally reached in front of the gates of the Cathedral and knocked on it.
The door opened right away but instead of going inside with Milo, he grinned.
He was holding Milo’s left arm with his right hand but he wanted to change his grip.
So first, he tossed the girl in the air and caught her again. But this time, with the back of her neck.
His big fingers wrapped her tiny neck and through the open doors, he aimed and launched Milo inside the Cathedral.
THUD!
She fell on the red carpet of the Cathedral and finally, Kairon entered inside as well.
But as he went inside, the grin he had... vanished.
The scene was completely different from when he had left.
His eyes widened as all three barricades of the confession box were broken, lying lifeless on the stage.
And the thing that forced his eyes to bulge more than ever was the fact that the confession box was empty.
Zane wasn’t inside that anymore.
"Close the gate, Kairon!" The Emberlord shouted.
Kairon snapped out of his thoughts and darted his eyes on Coin.
The man was still on the stage, the sleeves of his shirt were rolled upwards and his breath was faster than usual.
His scythe rested on the podium, far away from him.
Kairon didn’t understand what happened while he was away.
He looked around more and his eyes didn’t stop widening.
The audience that were standing in front of their seats were now standing at the corner of the Cathedral, sticking to its walls.
The polished and cushioned seats of the Halocrats section, some of them were broken and they had blood on them.
"Close the door, Kaironn!!"
The Emberlord shouted once more and Kairon finally moved.
He stopped looking left and right and turned around.
But as he turned around, he didn’t meet the door.
He met something else...
"You are dead."
Something worse.
A shiver ran down Kairon’s spine as he wasn’t expecting two bloodshot eyes staring at his soul.
"You... You filth!"
Kairon got hold of himself in a second and swung his spear.
But instead of his target’s head...
TUN!
The spear connected with the chains that were on the neck of the filth he wanted to kill.
And in the Cathedral, there was only one person with the chains and the title for filth right now.
The Accused himself. Zane Atlas.
Kairon wasn’t afraid of Zane. He wasn’t afraid of no Gutterborn.
But the simple fact that Zane came behind him and stared at him with eyes that screamed murder, Kairon was forced to flinch.
As the spear failed to kill Zane, the gutterborn raised his chained hands.
But before Zane could land both of his hands on Kairon’s head, the Enforcer raised his right leg and kicked Zane’s chest.
Zane coughed blood but he had already seen Kairon raising his leg so when the kick landed, he was ready.
He endured the armored and heavy kick from Kairon and instead of flying back, Zane used every ounce of his strength to hold Kairon’s leg.
He dug his nails on the thick thighs of Enforcer and when he felt he got a grip, he opened his mouth wide.
Along with Zane’s mouth, Kairon’s pupils widened at the same time.
The Enforcer understood what the filth would do.
He pulled his leg from Zane’s chest but from those scrawny arms, Kairon lost.
The Enforcer couldn’t become free from Zane’s hold.
Zane scanned Kairon’s entire right leg on his hold and when he found a spot, he did what he did with Xavier in his first meeting.
"AAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!"
Kairon cried with the maximum capacity of his lungs. The walls echoed with the cries of the Enforcer.
Zane had held back when he did the same thing with Xavier.
But this time with Kairon, he went all out.
He found no mercy and became the animal he always thought he would become if something happened to Milo.
That was to say... Zane bit Kairon.
He dug his teeth deep inside Kairon’s right thigh.
That was the spot with no protection and Zane used his teeth strengthened by rotten breads and stoney dough available in the slums to make sure Kairon regretted for no protection on that spot.
Blood ran from the corner of Zane’s mouth as he had gone inside the arteries and veins of the Enforcer.
He won’t let it go.
The bastard had held his sister and threw her like a toy. He would devour the man from his leg.
Kairon’s entire right leg drenched in blood as the red carpet had become vibrant than ever.
"Anhg! You motherfcuker! Let me go! Varikh! Do something! Using Skills is prohibited here!"
Kairon yelled from the top of his lungs as he couldn’t even use his spear. His entire focus was on his leg.
He had never felt such pain.
Veins popped all over his face. His eyes widened as if in shock after realising the levels of pain.
Zane’s mouth had completely turned red, smeared with Kairon’s blood.
But his teeth never stopped biting.
He would make sure he would take a bite in the same way he had seen Halocrats eating the leg piece of lambs.
He was waiting for his jaw to close while still inside Kairon’s leg.
Kairon had shouted loud for help and he knew the help would come any second now.
But amidst the pain, his mind boggled over something else as well.
"How the hell things came to this?!" He barked.
He jerked his head at the stage, staring at the Emberlord as he asked the question he wanted to ask the moment he stepped inside the Cathedral with Milo.
"What exactly happened here after I left!?"
