Contract Marriage: Love Has Finally Arrived
Chapter 1554 - 1555: Someone You Don’t Know, a Woman
She didn’t deny it, because Xiang Jinnan really did count as her friend.
"So you went to the hospital with him?"
Qin Feimo’s expression instantly darkened; now he didn’t even have an appetite anymore, just stared at her like that.
Xiang Jinnan went to see a doctor, why did he need her to go with him? And he even made a special trip to pick her up. Since when had she become Xiang Jinnan’s personal nanny?
Qin Feimo was in a foul mood, the gloom on his face growing heavier and heavier, his long, narrow, brooding eyes locking onto her.
Facing those obviously displeased dark eyes, with faint sparks of anger hidden between his brows, she didn’t really understand what he was angry about, but in order not to let him sense anything, she naturally couldn’t say that the nonexistent "friend" was actually Xiang Jinnan.
He was Qin Feimo’s subordinate; as long as he investigated, he’d know Xiang Jinnan had never been with her.
And she had just said it was a friend he didn’t know.
Lowering her head, she replied calmly, "No, it was someone you don’t know, a woman."
The last two words were something she’d added on a sudden impulse.
She herself didn’t quite understand why she felt the need to specifically explain that it was a woman.
She did actually have a female friend, it was just that the friend had been on business trips recently, and they hadn’t been in touch for a long time.
Hearing that it was a woman, some of the gloom on Qin Feimo’s face suddenly dissipated, though he was still half-suspicious of her words.
But if he wanted to know whether that "friend" was actually Xiang Jinnan, all he had to do was investigate, and everything would be clear.
He didn’t ask further, picked up his chopsticks, and continued eating.
After waiting about a minute or so and seeing that he truly wasn’t going to speak again, Feng Jinglei finally let out a sigh of relief.
She was really so afraid he would notice something.
This time she had managed to hide it, but the pregnancy—sooner or later, she wouldn’t be able to hide it.
Her belly would grow bigger and bigger as time went by. How could she possibly hide that?

After the Spring Festival, life quickly returned to its busy pace. Once Qin Sijue went back to Country Y, Feng Jinglei also returned to M Group and resumed work as usual.
After the Beginning of Spring, the weather gradually took on a hint of warmth.
In the blink of an eye, another month passed.
Wearing teal leggings with a long, loose, soft sweater over them, Feng Jinglei went downstairs, ready to have breakfast.
But what struck Zhuang Yanyan as a little strange was that she knew Feng Jinglei had always had the habit of going for a morning run, yet it seemed that since more than a month ago, she had stopped. At first, she thought it was because the weather was cold, icy and freezing, so she didn’t go out. In past winters, even when it was cold, she would still go out for a run, only occasionally skipping it.
But this period of time, she seemed to have never gone out at all.
"Jinglei, you don’t go for morning runs anymore?"
At the breakfast table, Zhuang Yanyan couldn’t help asking out of curiosity.
Still, it was no big deal if a girl didn’t go running. She was still so young, and her figure was exceptionally good—just a bit on the slim side.
Being asked that, Feng Jinglei’s hand paused abruptly in mid-bite, and she lifted her eyes to look at her, a little dazed.
The Doctor had said the first few months were critical and advised her to avoid strenuous exercise, so from that day on, she hadn’t gone for a morning run again.
In the blink of an eye, the baby in her belly was already more than three months old, but her lower abdomen was still flat, nothing showing yet.
The morning sickness, however, had gradually eased, and she no longer felt that constant nausea like before.
After staring blankly for a few seconds, she came back to herself and glanced at Qin Feimo sitting opposite her.
"Mm, I’ve been going to bed late recently, so I keep missing the time for a morning run."
