Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough
Chapter 2074: Jiang Chen’s First Visit to the Main Sect (2)
Continuing to gaze up towards the ascension realm tower in the distance, Jiang Chen remained frozen for a good ten minutes before he finally recovered from his somewhat dazed state. Unable to fully comprehend what he was seeing, as it either symbolized that an existence of that legendary realm existed within the Star Shattering Sect or such an existence had once been part of the sect in the past.
In either case, it meant that the Star Shattering Sect went far beyond the level of an ancient sect and reached a realm that was equal to that of a holy land.
But... In that case, he felt like he should have heard about the Star Shattering Sect before his passing, as powers at that level were few in numbers and every single one of them dominated large parts of the ancient divine continent. The only reason he could think of that might explain him not knowing anything about the Star Shattering Sect would be because the sect had emerged after his death, but in that case, the time since his death was far longer than he might have originally anticipated. After all, the Star Shattering Sect was clearly in the process of reemerging after spending who knows how many years in hiding.
For a sect this powerful to have fallen and gone into hiding and then start the process of reemerging during his time dead, Jian Chen feared that he hadn’t just been dead for a few hundred years like he originally thought, but instead tens of millions of years. Possible even hundreds of millions of years. After all, for an existence of that level to rise and then fall was something he had only heard about happening in the ancient past of the divine continent during the time when the world had still been in a state of chaos, but that time of chaos was so far in the past that even someone like himself who had been part of the older generation didn’t know much.
It wasn’t wrong to say that tower completely broke his calm state of mind and threw him into a state of panic. Knowing the world and even the language had changed from what he knew, he now realized that far more than he had originally believed would change with his reincarnation might have changed.
The different artifacts and treasures he left behind for himself ahead of time might be able to survive for a million years without being discovered, but tens of millions of years or even a hundred million years? No formation he could create could survive for that long without starting to fail... And when the formation started failing, it wouldn’t take long before it was discovered by others. After which the outcome would be obvious, as there was no way anyone would be able to hold themselves back in the face of the countless treasures and artifacts he had stored away in those hideouts.
Outside the panic he felt learning how long it might have been since his death, his panicked state was more so knowing that the resources he had saved up over the years were lost and his future cultivation path was going to be far harder than he originally anticipated.
After all, he had reincarnated for the simple goal of being able to lay down a foundation strong enough to take him a step closer to that legendary realm and the resources he had stored away were also there to help him lay down the perfect foundation and ensure his own safety.
The only positive to the situation he had found himself in was the fact that he had somehow managed to join the sect of a being who had reached such a realm.
Even if that existence might have perished, the inheritance was clearly still present. The tower itself, almost certainly an artifact personally refined by that being in the past to leave behind his or her inheritance.
And with it being an artifact of that realm, he felt almost certain that his identity had long since been discovered by the artifact spirit. After all, hiding from someone in the Venerable Realm relying on his powerful divine soul might be possible, but an artifact at that level? Impossible...
For the artifact to ignore him, Jiang Chen guessed that the other party didn’t view him as a threat and decided to leave him alone. Treating him as a normal disciple of the sect, something that wasn’t too surprising given that the artifact spirit should also be able to see through his identity as a reincarnate and the fact that he hadn’t snuck into the Star Shattering Sect with ill intentions.
In the first place, even if he fully recovered his strength, he wouldn’t be able to do anything to an artifact of that level. Even if it had been damaged and was in a state of disrepair.
So... After spending another ten or so minutes going through everything, Jiang Chen calmed down again, his eyes still locked on the mystical tower in the distance.
Given that he hadn’t been targeted and was allowed to remain a disciple of the Star Shattering Sect, Jiang Chen decided that he would do just that. Even if the countless resources and treasures he had hidden away before he reincarnated were gone, he now had a clear path to that realm following the inheritance within the Star Shattering Sect.
Not to mention, he didn’t have much against becoming a part of the Star Shattering Sect officially if it could truly help him break through that realm as he hadn’t been a part of any power in the past and had remained a wandering cultivator without any roots searching for the Dao on his own.
"Jiang Chen! There you are, we are going to the Seventh Star Peak to see how the disciples from the main sect live and the different stalls selling all kinds of artifacts, pills, potions and even rare spiritual herbs. Are you coming?" Just as he was about to turn back and make his way to the assigned cultivation room that he would be able to stay inside for the next few weeks within the Shattered Star Peaks, a fellow disciple who had entered alongside him, emerged from the nearby cultivation abode his own cultivation room was located inside of before calling out to him.
"Sure, I’m quite curious about that tower as well." Nodding his head in response as he directly stated a certain place he felt eager to visit in person.
"The tower? Oh, indeed, you aren’t the only one. Haha, quite a few want to see what that tower is about. After all, it’s hard to not be curious seeing it from afar." Not finding anything odd about what Jiang Chen said, the other disciple nodded his head in agreement. Also feeling curious about the towering tower that by far was the most eye-catching thing on top the Seventh Star Peak.
Hearing this, Jiang Chen could not help smiling a bit knowing he would soon be able to see such an amazing artifact up close, something that didn’t escape the eyes of the disciple who had come to get him.
Haha, it looks like this ice cube junior brother of mine can’t fully hide his excitement once we got to the Shattered Star Peaks, I have to tell those overeager junior sisters when I get back to the sect.
Unknown to Jiang Chen himself, who had long since become famous within the branch sect he had joined amongst the junior sisters and brothers alike, the fellow disciple watching him from the side was about to make his future cultivation far more chaotic.
After all, in the past, few had dared to approach him because of how cold he was to everyone who attempted to chat with him or make friends, something he inherited from his past. After all, there was no way he would be able to act like a normal junior cultivator or normal boy his age with the long time he had lived.
But in the near future, this personality of his that had helped him build up a perfect ice cold personality would start to break in the eyes of the countless junior sister who deeply admired him, as a certain fellow disciple was soon going to spread some rumors about this cold junior brother secretly being someone filled with emotions.
Was this a bit of an exaggeration? Yes... But the fellow disciple of his didn’t have any bad intentions in mind when doing this and merely wanted to help this junior brother of his get along better with the junior sister.
After all, who would say no to being more popular among the junior sisters? At least for this senior brother, it wasn’t something he would ever comprehend, as he himself strived to keep up a good image in the eyes of both junior sisters and brothers.
Unfortunately for Jiang Chen, there was nothing he could do about this future, as he was completely unaware of what his dear senior brother was planning while following him to gather with a few others before heading up the Seventh Star Peak. Filled with excitement thinking about visiting the ascension realm tower, excitement that the senior brother already planning to help him out saw and made him more determined to lend a hand to this junior brother who had already been marked down as someone who had a difficult time communicating in his mind.
At the end of the day, this was the only reason this senior brother could think about when it came to why this junior brother of his remained so stoic and cold normally...
