Chapter 2469: Demon Slaying Parade(2)
"What should we do, Senior Yan? Quite frankly, I don’t think the seal will last long enough for us to even do anything about it, let alone fix it."
"Fix it?" Yan Hara sneered. "If we could fix it, we would have done so long ago! If the seal breaks, we can only try to ward off the demons that will come pouring out until he comes to reseal it!"
"He? Who is this person that can reseal the Demonic Realm?" The Demon Sealer looked at Yan Hara with his eyebrows raised in a puzzled manner.
"..." Yan Hara remained silent for a moment before responding in a nonchalant tone, "Don’t worry about it."
Then, she continued, "Have all of the Demon Sealers in the Seventh Heaven head to the entrance to the Demonic Realm in case the seal really breaks. Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do right now."
"What if the seal really breaks and demons come pouring out?" The Demon Sealer asked in a nervous tone.
"Although Demon Sealers have gotten weaker compared to before, the rest of the world has become stronger, so even if the Demon Clan invades, we won’t be as powerless as before."
"But just in case, have someone notify the Celestial Emperor of the situation. He is the only one who can traverse the Nine Heavens without the Stairway to Heaven right now."
"I understand."
Once the Demon Sealer left, Yan Hara looked at the communication jade slip in her grasp with a slightly worried face.
"Where are you right now, Yuan?" she mumbled in a low voice.
Yan Hara tried to contact Yuan, but her message would immediately bounce back to her, meaning that the other end could not receive it, and this would only happen if they were in a place too far away, or in a place that blocked communications.
"The only thing I can do now is focus on the Demon Slaying Parade and take down Qian Chu! If I don’t do so, the Demon Sealers will never be able to work together!"
Meanwhile, at the Bloody Monastery, Yuan was still working on the seal.
"How much longer is this going to take?" asked the Supreme Adviser.
"I should be done in a few more years," Yuan calmly replied.
Although only two weeks had passed in the Nine Heavens, it had been over a decade since Yuan started working on removing the seal.
Suddenly, the Supreme Adviser turned to face the entrance, where a silhouette could be seen entering the chamber.
"S-Supreme Ruler!" The Supreme Adviser cried out loud when he realized it was Supreme Ruler Grant.
"Oh? Looks like you made it back safely," Yuan remarked without looking back.
"You... Why are you here? I thought you were at Death Paradise?" Supreme Ruler Grant asked with a puzzled frown on his face.
He returned to the City of Blood very recently, but immediately came to the Bloody Monastery after learning about Yuan’s presence.
"I was, but now I am here."
"What happened after I left?"
"Why do you care? It’s none of your business, anyway."
"...Then why are you here? And what the hell are you doing?"
Supreme Ruler Grant looked at the massive portal on the ceiling.
"Don’t you dare say that it’s none of my business because this is very much my business!"
"Explain it to him, Lev."
Lev nodded and quickly said, "What you are looking at is the gateway between our world and his world. However, it is sealed from the other side, and he is trying to undo the seal so that he could return to his world."
"The gateway to his world...?" Supreme Ruler Grant muttered in a low voice with a pondering expression on his face.
Yuan suddenly said, "If you are thinking about invading my world..."
"No, I am not!" Supreme Ruler Grant quickly cut him off.
"I was just wondering how long this gateway has been here since this is my first time hearing of such a thing."
"Since Dena was in power, I suppose."
"..."
"Speaking of Dena..." Yuan continued after a brief moment of silence. "I want you to remove the law that prevents us from uttering her name, as well as mine. Nobody should be killed over uttering a name."
Supreme Ruler Grant then said, "But I wasn’t the one who created this rule."
"Why does it matter? I just want you to remove it."
"Not until the one who made it is dead."
"Is that so? Then who made the rule? Owen?"
Supreme Ruler Grant nodded.
"How troublesome," Yuan sighed. "That bastard probably won’t die for a long time..."
"Why is that?"
"He’s being kept alive so that he could be tortured."
"Don’t tell me the ones torturing him are..." Supreme Ruler Grant swallowed nervously.
"Oh, right. Speaking of the Transcedents, don’t be surprised if you see them around. They’re no longer imprisoned within Death Paradise."
"WHAT?!" Supreme Ruler Grant exclaimed in shock.
Even though he was the Supreme Ruler, he was terrified of the Transcendents’ unfathomable prowess.
"Relax, it’s not like they are unreasonable serial killers. As long as you don’t offend them, nothing will happen."
"That’s right. As long as you don’t offend us, we won’t kill you."
A familiar voice suddenly resounded behind Supreme Ruler Grant, greatly startling him.
"?!?!"
Supreme Ruler Grant swiftly turned around to see three pale beauties standing behind him, appearing out of nowhere like ghosts.
"H-How?! How did you get in here?! I know I locked the doors behind me!" Supreme Ruler Grant exclaimed.
"Oh, that? It broke when we tried to get inside. It was by accident. I swear," Selena said in a calm voice.
Yuan turned around and asked them, "What are you guys doing here? I doubt you explored the entire world already."
"We decided to put that on hold for now," Selena said. "Have you thought about what we could do to gain your trust?"
"We?" Yuan raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, since we want to visit your world together."
"..."
Yuan fell silent with a solemn expression.
