Chapter 1183: The Myth of Oracle (1)

At this moment, the third floor of the Coalition Pagoda was as it always had been: silent, vast, and suffocatingly profound.

Mist drifted across the endless chamber, thick enough to conceal distance and distort depth. A long ethereal table stretched forward, its surface carved with layered law-runes that shimmered faintly like distant constellations beneath water.

At the far end, the towering throne of starlit obsidian stood empty for the Coalition Master was absent.

However, one presence occupied the chamber as she sat gracefully upon the first seat to the right of the throne.

Her robes flowed like woven night, deep indigo fabric threaded with faint constellations that pulsed in slow rhythm. A tall witch’s hat cast a subtle shadow over her form, and her face was hidden behind a flawless, featureless mask, devoid of eyes, mouth, or expression.

At the center of that mask glowed a single golden-white pentagram glyph, rotating slowly. The air around her was calm yet subtly distorted, as if unseen probabilities bent in her vicinity. This was the Myth of Oracle, the co-founder of the Mythical Coalition.

But Myth of Oracle wasn’t alone right now, as across from her, seated at a respectful distance, was the Myth of White Swordsman.

He appeared composed as ever. Pale robes embroidered with faint sword glyphs. His posture was straight, with his hands resting calmly on the table. His expression was respectful.

Outwardly, nothing betrayed tension, but inwardly, his thoughts were like a raging storm, especially after meeting with the Myth of Reverend.

At this moment, the Myth of Oracle tilted her masked face slightly toward him, and the pentagram on the mask shimmered faintly as if reflecting her unknown thoughts.

"Fellow myth," Myth of Oracle began, her voice melodious and steady, "you requested an audience with the Coalition Master. Unfortunately, he is unavailable at this time."

Her tone was measured yet warm, and inviting, "But as the second in command, I will hear your request. If it concerns the Coalition, I shall handle it personally."

The White Swordsman inclined his head slightly in understanding as he spoke, "Thank you, Lady Oracle. The matter is delicate. That is why I sought the Coalition Master directly."

The White Swordsman might sound calm and respectful, but inside, however, his mind was cold, and he almost laughed out loud in self-deprecation.

Now that he was sitting in this hall, those images replayed behind his calm expression even more vividly.

The Coalition Master’s crushing voice before his own consciousness slipping away under the Myth of Oracle’s pentagram bright glow, and then his thoughts being peeled apart like pages in a book when he answered without resistance about the Secret Fraternity, Upper Plains, Legendary Master Key, and the Cursed One!

He still felt apprehensive when he remembered the snap amidst the blankness, and that sensation now with how precise it had been.

She had sealed everything, only what was inconvenient, what implicated her curiosity, and what she wished to conceal, and he had walked out thinking nothing was wrong.

If not for the Myth of Reverend’s interference, he would still be a puppet, and that’s what made the White Swordsman even angrier, and the killing intent in his heart grew denser.

Maybe if the Myth of Oracle and the Coalition Master had confronted him about it outright instead of playing with his mind, and with how apprehensive the White Swordsman was because of what happened, he probably would have revealed everything on his own under mutual trust and respect.

However, they clearly didn’t trust him enough, and almost drove him to the brink of madness with the seal they left in his memories. Now, the Myth of Oracle was acting as if nothing had happened.

But none of that showed on the White Swordsman’s face, and he didn’t dare to let out even the faintest of his real feelings because the Myth of Oracle might notice it, and the Myth of Reverend also helped him to make sure nothing untoward happened today.

Instead, he allowed a faint, carefully measured frown to form, as if he were worried about something, as he said, "Lady Oracle, recent events have unsettled me."

The Myth of Oracle remained motionless, but the pentagram flickered subtly as she asked gently, "In what way?"

"The disappearance of the Myth of Justice. The emergence of unknown forces. The mysterious entity capable of seizing a Quasi-Myth as if plucking an insect." His tone was calm yet analytical, "And...I think it’s about time I come clean and tell you and the Coalition Master about another hidden organization with Myths in their ranks!"

When the Myth of White Swordsman abruptly revealed this point, the pentagram brightened faintly as if showcasing its owner’s astonishment, and in this case, she didn’t need to hide it; she should be surprised, albeit for another reason.

"Oh? Please continue, fellow myth." She calmly said while showing just enough curiosity.

The White Swordsman nodded as he solemnly stated, "The hidden organization has no particular name, and we address it as the Secret Fraternity, and I’m ashamed to admit, but I’m also part of this Secret Fraternity..."

The White Swordsman started to reveal everything under Myth of Oracle’s scrutiny, but what he revealed was the same things the Myth of Oracle had forced out from him using her mysterious means.

However, the Myth of Oracle couldn’t reveal this to the White Swordsman now, so she had to pretend and act accordingly, but it doesn’t mean she wasn’t suspicious, as White Swordsman suddenly revealing all this couldn’t be because he was feeling guilty.

"T-this is really too much to take, fellow myth..." Myth of Oracle sighed with a hint of disappointment, "Myth of Justice should’ve been more open about it, and instead of secretly planning all this, we could’ve gladly helped her in her ventures."

The Myth of White Swordsman was almost lampooned, but he acted appropriately and replied ruefully, "I’ve also told Myth of Justice the same, but I guess we all have our difficulties since I never told you guys either."

The pentagram on the Myth of Oracle’s mask seemed to shimmer profoundly at this moment as she asked, "That’s what I’m also curious about now, actually. Why now, of all the times, did you decide to reveal all of this to us and risk losing your trust?"

’Here it is!’

The Myth of White Swordsman’s heart lurched ever so slightly as he knew the true trial of wits only now began, and whether he would succeed or not all depended on his performance!
