Clock are amazing. The ones from the distant past were, at least. Their electronic version were more efficient, and far more advanced, but ask anyone and they would tell you that the ancient boxes full of gears were far more compelling.

One underrated aspect of the now ancient contraptions was the iconic sound they made. To this day, the rhythmic clicks was synonymous with the passage of time, and in a silent room, they helped ward off the oppressive silence of a very awkward situation. As the century prepared to make another turn, the gear operated clocks had long since disappeared, leaving people to endure the pressure of sitting in silence, each waiting for the others to say something.

"So… How have been, Finn?"

Oliver tried to be the one to breath the silence, but all he got in return was a glare from a very angry young boy. Just look at him—he even got his arms crossed. That shows how truly pissed he was.

"C'mon, man. We didn't mean to ruin things for you."

Apparently, the boy had been grounded for sneaking out at night, but that didn't stop him from doing it again. However, now that he got caught again, the consequences were going to be much worse than before.

After glaring at them for a while, the boy spun in his chair, turning his back to them. He put on a pair of goggles next, grabbed some of the tools on his workbench, and began to work on something.

"Um… Finn?"

[Yup, that's going to take a while.]

The voice came from an unlikely place, confusing Bella and Oliver. When they turned to look at its source, the yellow back the boy had been carrying, it suddenly snapped, springing robotic limbs as it pushed itself up.

"What the fu-"

With the earlier incident fresh in her mind, Bella reached for her gun right away. Thankfully, she seemed to notice the cute pixelated face on the capsule shaped robot, making her pause just long enough for her to realize that it wasn't an enemy. As the yellow bot waved at her with a smiley face, she couldn't help but wave back, although a little unsure.

[Hey there, gorgeous! What brings you here today?]

"I…"

Seeing that she was lost for words, Oliver jumped in.

"Hey Jake, how have you been?"

The bot's attitude seemed to switch as he turned a glare at him

[Can't you see I'm busy?]

"C'mon, man, don't be like that."

[Then at least do the intoductions, man.]

"Alright, got it." Sighing, Oliver turned to his raven haired companion. "Bella, this is Jake. Jake, this is Bella."

[Bella, huh? A beautiful name for a beautiful girl]

Still stunned by what she was seeing, Bella tried to speak a few times, but all she could do was point.

[Guess my shiny plates left you speechless.] Jake's face moved up and down as if he was nodding. [Don't worry, baby girl. This always happens.]

Oliver noticed the confused look his raven haired friend turned to him with and just shook his head, telling her not to think about it too much. That's what he usually does when things got too confusing.

[So, what can I help you with?]

For a moment there, Oliver seemed to forget why they came all the way there.

"Well, you haven't been to the club or the noodle shop in some time, so…"

[Yeah, we've been kinda busy lately.] Jake said. [Did Tomato Head send you?]

"No, he didn't…" Pausing, Oliver pursed his lips, his eyes narrowing. "That… didn't come out right…"

[Don't worry about it. He's probably watching us from somewhere, that's why.]

That sounded even more wrong.

[So, since you didn't come here just to check on us, you must have had another reason. You gonna tell us or what?]

"Well, to be frank, we've been looking for something to improve Boss's mood."

[Did something happen to him?] Jake raised an eyebrow. [Something that hasn't already happened?]

"We don't really know." Oliver glanced at the brown haired boy. "We were hoping you would have an idea."

[Hm…]

Jake turned to look behind him, remaining silent for a while. He was waiting for his human friend to offer some insight, but the boy clearly wasn't interested, seeing as he hadn't looked up from whatever he was doing. That caused the yellow bot to sigh.

[Sorry, man. As you have said, it's been a while since we don't really know what's happening.]

"I… I see…"

[Yeah. That guy doesn't really know how to have fun, so I don't think you can do anything to improve his mood.]

In the end, nothing came out of their short trip. They checked on both Nobara and Finn, so it wasn't like they were going to go back empty handed, but after their run in with those cyborgs, it felt like they were bringing back nothing but bad news with them, even though their boss already knows.

"Somehow… I feel like we wasted the entire day…" Bella said as they stepped out of the Triple Jackpot. "What are we gonna do now?"

"Well, no choice but to wait and see…" Oliver said. "If he isn't any better by tomorrow, we can try looking again."

He had a feeling that he could gauge their red haired boss's mood a lot better during one of their training sessions. The more serious his ass gets beaten, the better the boss's mood would be.

"Finn! Were the hell-"

"I'm not going anywhere! Don't worry!"

Just as they were about to walk away, the two heard shouting from the arcade and turned around to find the brown haired boy running toward them. He seemed a little surprised to see they hadn't gotten that far, even though he rushed to catch up with them.

"Hey, Finn. Did you need anything?"

"Yeah, not really." Heaving a sigh, he seemed to think for a moment, his eyes studying a nearby corner. "Listen, I don't know what's on with that idiot, and frankly, I don't care." His annoyance reached its peak as he began ruffling his hair. "I also don't know what could cheer him up. He practically has no hobbies beside riding his bike."

It was a well known fact among Inferno members that their boss enjoyed his solo rides. Many tried to accompany him, just like how they tried to form bodyguard teams to follow him around, but he hated having people follow him around without him specifically asking for it.

"There is one thing that might improve his mood," Finn said. "Though it's far from guarenteed."

"Anything will do at this point." Oliver said. "We don't have anything to work with."

Still looking unsure, the boy reached under his jacket and took something out. There was something deeply wrong with seeing a young boy holding a gun with such familiarity, but it was nothing unusual for people like them. Still, that one seemed a little too big for most people, let alone a kid.

"We used to hang out at the range from time to time." Finn said. "I don't know about now, since he got those fancy bionic arms, but he used to say he enjoyed the recoil from pistols like this one."

"Is that… a Jaggernaut?" Bella asked.

"Yeah, I kinda had to beat his ass to get it." Finn chuckled, putting the blue gun away. "Apparently, he use to have one just like it a while back, but he lost it at one point. Maybe if you managed to find something similar, it would get him to stop being a grumpy little bitch."

"Hey…"

That last part was entirely uncalled for, and even though he was the boss's little brother, it still got under Bella's skin.

"Finn! Don't make me come over there!"

"Well, I would have loved to help you," The boy began his retreat, having sensed the danger he was in. "But as you can see, mom is calling."

"Don't worry about it." Oliver said. "This is way more than what we expected to find."

Once again on their own, the two began to make their way out of Joystreet.

"Since the boss still uses that old Rhino, I guess he has yet to found a new Juggernaut."

"Well, that's to be expected." Bella said. "Those things are collector items. Only a few were ever made. We would have better luck finding Catalyst than one of those."

"Seriously?"

Taking a few more steps, Oliver came to a stop and turned to look behind him. Bella was bolted in her place, a deep frown scrunching her face as she glared at the floor.

"We probably won't find a Juggernaut, but what about something of the same realm?"

"That sounds… a little expensive…" Oliver said, earning himself a glare from his Raven haired companion.

"Weren't you the one who wanted to cheer him up?" With hurried steps, Bella walked past him. "I know a place where we might find something."
