Daddy! Come Home for Dinner!
Chapter 175: Xiao Mo Takes After You Too
This is the first time he’s entering her room!
Ye Fei feels like her last territory has been invaded by him.
Zhao Gushen’s presence is too strong; it seems like her room has been filled with Zhao Gushen’s aura.
The once familiar scent that belonged to her is gone.
Ye Fei was so startled by Zhao Gushen that she lost her footing.
Combined with the weight of the quilt and pillow, her head felt heavy and her feet light.
The whole body lost balance and she toppled over.
Zhao Gushen tossed aside the cookbook and dashed over in two steps, finally catching Ye Fei in time.
But in doing so, Ye Fei fell completely into Zhao Gushen’s arms, enclosed by his embrace.
Zhao Gushen lowered his head and saw Ye Fei’s face completely flushed red.
He couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
The husky laughter made Ye Fei feel terribly embarrassed, as if being burned, she hurriedly escaped from his embrace.
Zhao Gushen felt regretful; he didn’t get a proper chance to hug her.
Ye Fei, without a word, stuffed the pillow and quilt into Zhao Gushen’s arms.
She lowered her head and muttered, "Go to sleep quickly, good night."
Unexpectedly, Zhao Gushen leisurely placed the pillow and quilt on Ye Fei’s bed.
Ye Fei looked at him with a face full of uncertainty.
Was Zhao Gushen planning to sleep right there?
"Are you sleepy now?" Zhao Gushen asked again.
Ye Fei suddenly froze.
She wasn’t sleepy, but it’s so late, continuing to chat like this isn’t really proper.
It’d be better to say she’s sleepy, urging him to go to bed.
Just when she was about to respond, Zhao Gushen pointed at her computer desk: "If you’re not sleepy, could you solve my puzzle first? I’m a bit compulsive, if I go to bed with questions, I won’t sleep tonight."
"Xiao Mo probably got his curiosity from you," Ye Fei blurted out involuntarily.
The little guy is the same, don’t let him see anything; once he sees something, he will ask until he gets an answer.
If he can’t resolve a question, it makes him quite upset, keeping it in his mind, never able to forget.
Zhao Gushen was slightly stunned for a moment, then chuckled lightly.
Even though the bedroom door was open, Ye Fei still felt confined with him in this small space.
His low laughter lingered above her head, making Ye Fei’s scalp tingle and her ears redden.
At that moment, her cookbook appeared in sight.
Zhao Gushen handed it to her: "What do these brackets mean?"
"When I’m researching cooking, I experiment with many different methods. For instance, here." Ye Fei’s slender, fair finger pointed at a spot in the notebook, "Here, I tried sautéing before braising, and braising before sautéing."
"And here, even though it’s seasoned like this, I also ponder, could it be done like what’s in the brackets? With a question mark, it means I haven’t tried it yet, just an idea, noted down to experiment later."
"The notes beside them explain why I did it this way, the initial reason for this dish, the purpose, the thoughts at that time, all written down."
"I record them all, flipping through whenever I have time, some become distant over time and I forget why I did them. But looking back, it feels like reading someone else’s mood journal, offering a fresh feeling and even sparking inspiration," Ye Fei explained.
Zhao Gushen flipped through casually, even just a brief look made it clear how much effort Ye Fei put in.
