Chapter 1146 - 1144: Visit
"Impossible for it to fall!"
Mr. Klein sat amidst the crowd in the room, surrounded by many neighbors from the community, colleagues from his company, and some friends.
The sharp drop in silver prices was akin to a bolt of lightning in a clear winter sky for those who had invested almost everything they owned—it was simply unacceptable!
Some people were trembling when they arrived!
These people had wagered everything and even leveraged their bets.
If this trend reversed, everything they had worked for over 30-40 years could vanish in an instant.
At that moment, it felt as though they were standing on the guillotine, ready to be brought to their knees at any time, begging for mercy that would have no effect as they watched their heads roll!
Mr. Klein’s resolute answer made them take a sharp breath as if they were drowning individuals grabbing onto a lifeline, their eyes filled with hope as they looked at Mr. Klein, wishing he could convince them that all of this would pass.
Mr. Klein looked at them, his gaze sweeping over each face, before he said in a deep voice, "If you think about it, you should know that it’s impossible for there to be such a terrifyingly large, high-purity open-pit silver mine in the world."
"Do you understand what I’m saying?"
"From the start, it was a lie, or someone exaggerated its data. I don’t believe there is such a mine!"
As people calmed down, they thought seriously about it. It seemed that Mr. Klein was absolutely right; such an obvious fabrication couldn’t withstand thorough scrutiny.
People seemed to have been won over a bit, showing expressions of slight relief, as if finally experiencing a break from long-term constipation, seeing a glimmer of the Dawn of Victory!
"Moreover, ladies and gentlemen, you must understand, the real forces speculating in silver are not among us, but rather those big capitalists, consortiums, and mine owners—they are the true driving forces."
"As long as they don’t make a move, the price of silver won’t fall."
"Even if the reported silver mine in Mariluo is real, who will mine it and how it will be mined, are still questions."
"The silver ores in those mines can’t magically become ingots and fly to each exchange, can they?"
"The world isn’t that magical. Transforming these ores from resources to silver ingots takes a long time, with processes like mining, refining, and shipping globally requiring plenty of time."
"The current price adjustment of silver is merely a stress response from the market; conversely, I think this is actually a positive sign for us!"
The crowd gazed at Mr. Klein, nearly convinced!
He finally said with a smile, "The appearance of more silver indicates that silver is more suitable for circulation than gold. The quantity of gold is too limited for frequent trading."
"Silver is different; it can become a new globally circulating currency. It is truly the future."
People finally sighed with relief. One gentleman asked, "So, silver will go up again?"
Mr. Klein nodded, "Yes, it will definitely go up!"
He exuded complete confidence, appearing very optimistic, but whether his optimism was genuine or not, maybe only he knew.
The discovery of a new silver mine was a heavy blow to the Silver Alliance. Before the alliance even fully commenced operations, the price of silver plummeted, signaling an ominous forewarning.
Charlie and his sister were stunned, having anticipated many changes and issues, except for the discovery of a massive open-pit silver mine at this moment.
From the onsite aerial footage, the exposed rocks at the foot of the mountain appeared nearly silver-white, reflecting silvery-white lights everywhere!
It looked like a mountain made of silver!
Everyone’s saliva secreted rapidly. Even without the current frantic silver prices, at one or two dollars an ounce, this silver mountain could still bring its owners today’s wealth!
"We need to figure out whose hands hold the ownership of this silver mountain!"
In the room, Charlie (brother) patted the TV, looking at the others, "Would it be in the hands of the Mariluo Government?"
Someone shook their head, "Impossible, the Mariluo Government is just a puppet regime now; their Grand President doesn’t even dare leave his office."
"It should belong to a Warlord...", the speaker paused for a moment, "Or it could belong to the Federation."
Charlie (brother) was stunned, looking at his sister; he hadn’t considered such a situation.
Charlie (sister) provided an explanation, "The Federation is invading Mariluo, and not long ago, they conducted bombings nearby."
"If it belongs to the Federation, it makes sense; this footage serves as evidence."
"Only the Federations could capture such footage from planes; others cannot achieve this."
Charlie (brother) held his forehead, a bit pained, "The Federations... they are troublesome."
He paced around a few steps, "Ever since the Federation won the sea battle against Gafura, they seem to want to interfere in everything, proving to be quite troublesome."
If it were other small powers, or even warlords holding the exploitation rights of this silver mine, they would have ways to force these powers to submit.
But the Federation Government... their reach isn’t long enough.
"Things might not be as bad as you think. It’s possible that Lynch is the actual person taking over this silver mine’s mining rights."
"His company and his people are the ones responsible for the invasion!"
"We can talk to Lynch, I’ve heard he really likes money," Charlie (sister) said softly, "As long as he has a weakness, we can deal with him!"
Charlie (brother) was silent for a moment, then nodded, "Then it must be soon. We can’t wait too long. If worse news comes out, it would be fatal for us."
The people in the room thought the "fatal" he was referring to was the price of silver, but it was not. What he meant by "fatal" was really "fatal"!
If they fail to conclude the betting agreement, they will not only lose the money they’ve earned over the years, but they may also end up losing their lives.
Capitalists have never been the kind to be filled with warmth; they are devouring demons. Once you lose, they won’t give you any chance to rise again.
They will not only tear you apart and throw you into their mouths, chewing even the bone fragments to bits, but they’ll also pack the residue and throw it under an apple tree until every last bit of nutrition is extracted from you!
The siblings can’t afford to lose!
From their private island, it only takes two days to reach the Federation. On Monday morning, Charlie (sister) appeared at the pier in Bupen.
Accompanied by a dozen people, she naturally exuded an indescribable presence wherever she went.
People dared not meet her eyes, let alone block her path.
In the Federation, you can insult the President as a fool, and the President might laugh and say, "So are you," but if you dare obstruct the path of a capitalist, even if unintentionally, it might lead to terrifying consequences!
Walking down the streets of Bupen, feeling the powerful pulse of this country, inexplicably, Charlie (sister) was not as confident about today’s meeting as she was on the boat.
She was scheduled to meet with Lynch in the afternoon, and she needed some rest after disembarking.
In the afternoon, the temperature was pleasant. Charlie (sister), dressed elegantly, visited Lynch’s villa.
The subject they had to discuss was somewhat "shocking" and not convenient to talk about in public.
Only in such a private setting is appropriate.
"Welcome...," Lynch stood at the door, seemingly waiting for her, extending his hand.
What Lynch didn’t expect, or perhaps did, was that Charlie (sister) didn’t shake his hand but instead approached him for a warm cheek-to-cheek greeting.
Cheek-to-cheek greetings are rarely used for first meetings, and since he was a man and she a lady, it seemed inappropriate.
But... sometimes, some people suggest that certain things are meant to be broken. People’s minds are complex, and not everyone can be treated as an ordinary person.
Charlie (sister) released Lynch, and they both entered the villa together.
She was quite tall, about five foot nine (around 1.8 meters), a height scarcely seen among women in the Federation, where most are between five foot two and five foot six.
Her tall frame made her appear even slimmer. Her chest wasn’t very large, but not too small either, just right.
Her demeanor was excellent. With such a stellar figure, if she chose to be a model, she’d undoubtedly be the best!
They each took a seat.
"Mr. Lynch, I heard that the silver mines within Mariluo were discovered by your team first?" she cautiously inquired. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Lynch nodded, "Yes, we just overcame a minor hurdle. If you’ve followed the news, you should know what I’m referring to."
Charlie (sister) felt a bit uneasy, though she hid it well.
Lynch didn’t seem like a typical businessman or capitalist.
She had encountered many merchants from different countries and cultural backgrounds. Although these merchants might appear gentlemanly or crude, their temperament remained similar.
The type of aura that, upon contact, reveals their greed!
But in Lynch, Charlie (sister) couldn’t sense that greed. On the contrary, she felt an unprecedented sharpness radiating from him.
Even seated there, doing nothing but looking at her was enough to give Charlie (sister) the illusion of being cut.
If she uttered a wrong word or action, the damage would be even greater!
This wasn’t a pure businessman or a pure capitalist; he was more terrifying than the others!
