Chapter 157: Chapter 157: First Mercenaries.

A week after his birthday, two people showed up. Both wearing long cloaks and masks.

But the horns on their forehead sold out their identities. They were ogres, Adrian wondered what they wanted.

" We saw the post and we’re here to register as mercenaries, is the offer still available?" One of them asked.

It sounded like a woman and based on the shorter and leaner build than the other, it obviously was.

The reason Adrian doubted she was a woman at first was because he looked at her chest and saw nothing.

Of course one could make the argument that she was wearing baggy clothes and that long cloak.

However female ogres were famous for having giant boobs, they were absolutely huge to the point others wondered how they could even move with such agility.

It seemed she noticed his gaze and clicked her tongue.

-----------------------------

’ Unprofessional.’ Gratavellorytorra thought to herself. She knew she was different from others of her race.

She was born with small breasts, actually they were not small. Had she been any other race, her breasts would still be massive.

But amongst ogres, they were very small and in their society, large breasts were synonymous with fertility.

Which made her less desirable amongst the males of her kind and for a female ogre that was the worst thing that could happen.

Her people were driven by strength, even their naming were centred around strength. Those with short names were very powerful.

However ogres weren’t equal at all, the females were physically weaker and not on the same level as other races like humans.

Female ogres were significantly weaker than their male counterparts so to them, finding a mate was all they could strive for.

Of course they weren’t useless, female ogres can use a type of magic called enchantment magic.

It was similar to the enchantment of witches but also different. One, it was temporary and didn’t use runes.

Two, it was only a physical type enchantment magic that only increases physical stats.

Three, it only worked on living beings or that how it was supposed to be. Seeing her chances of finding a mate were small.

Gratavellorytorra made the effort to strengthen herself, if she couldn’t be protected by a male, then she would earn strength.

Alas, no matter how much she trained she couldn’t bridge the innate gap between the two sexes.

So she focused on her specialty, enchantment magic and found out she was really good at it.

Then she created a sub branch, enchantment magic cannot be used on ones self, even she couldn’t change that.

What she did change however was the living being condition. She created enchantment they can enhance weapons and armour.

So here she stood, having earned respect from her people, her name had even been shortened by three letters now.

Almost as short as her partner, the only man to ever love her yet a total stranger she could crush with a finger was staring at her breasts judging her.

She thought she was long past that type of discrimination. Seeing it happening here she grew mad.

She was just about to act when her man touched her shoulder. She felt herself calming down.

" I do apologise about that, he can be an idiot and insensitive sometimes but he means no harm."

They turned and saw a feminine figure behind them. Before they could react she had already went passed them.

She took the man by his hand and led him upstairs. Somebody else came and registered them.

There were a few rules they had to obey and then they signed a contract. After everything was done.

They were each given a card with their names on it. The card was not magical or made of any special material.

It was just a normal black card like an ID card found in the human world. Of course the two of them had never been there, they’ve only heard rumours.

" Excuse me, are there any missions currently?" She asked and the girl behind the counter shook her head.

" Not yet but we’re expecting some soon, come back in a few days, there should be a mission by then?"

They nodded and left, when they were outside she decided to ask. " Why did you stop me from crushing that bug?"

Her man sighed, " Dangerous." He said a single word but she understood. He had extremely high senses for danger.

If he said that guy was dangerous then she believed him. She dragged him away for a drink in the outside world.

She couldn’t understand why there was no bar in the black market, it seems like the perfect place for such a thing.

But unfortunately everybody who came here came with a specific business in mind and wouldn’t divert.

------------------------------------

" So, you decided to come back? Why now?" Adrian asked sounding annoyed.

Instead of answering, Meggie hugged him tightly then kissed him on the cheek. " Oh sweetie, I had no choice but to leave.

As for why I came back, because you’re obviously going to get yourself killed without me.

Before I leave I needed to make sure you are safe. Come." She led him to the underground bunker.

He didn’t even know how she knew this place was here but he didn’t say anything. Annie saw them and followed and so did Suzie.

When they got there, she went passed the metallic room used to bind the werewolves but there was nothing beyond there.

Annie and Suzie looked at her with confusion, Suzie had an idea who this was but Annie didn’t.

Meggie still had her cloak on so they couldn’t see her face. She pointed her hand at the ground.

" AKHA." Two rings on her finger shattered and disappeared into nothingness then they felt the ground shake.

This lasted nearly half an hour before it ended. She walked forward and they followed her.

Much to their surprise, the underground bunker stretched even further now, it stretched kilometres down.

They walked down a set of stairs until they reached the bottom. It was dark but they were werewolves.

They could see clearly, Meggie cast a spell and torches appeared throughout this entire place.

The entire underground had rows of wooden shelves stretching up to what appeared be endless.

Adrian recognised this structure, it looked similar to the library of witches in Lagos. Meggie took out a single book.

She opened it to the centre, the book was blank. Then she made a triangle with her fingers while the book floated in front of her.

" Vula" a rift in space opened up and rows upon rows of books flew out and arranged themselves in the shelves.
