Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 2308 - 2309: Aftermath
Tamur floated above Maomu City at this moment. Although it had restored its original enormous form, thanks to the cloud cover, its presence went unnoticed by anyone other than Maomu City’s officials.
Beside it, the shadows of the Mythical Era advanced like a fast-forwarded movie, from the birth of the Mythical Era to its demise, and then to the birth and destruction of Parallel Worlds.
Floating quietly in the air, Tamur remained motionless, when suddenly a long serpentine dragon similar to it slithered over.
Gitalien looked at the ongoing shadows of the Mythical Era beside Tamur and spoke
"That battle, it still affected you?"
"No."
A calm response, yet Tamur’s eyes were fixed nowhere in particular, Gitalien glanced downwards, and even through thick clouds, he could see where Feng Yuan was now.
"They’ll be worried about you."
"As long as they don’t know, they won’t worry."
"You, can anyone else help you with this trouble?"
Once again retorted by Tamur, Gitalien wore a helpless look, Tamur finally came to his senses and looked at Gitalien saying
"It’s not trouble at all, so where’s the help needed?"
After freshening up, Feng Yuan dressed in new clothes, stretched lazily, and casually picked up Xiao Ji, holding them in his arms, saying
"Finally back, huh? I wonder what effects the proximity of that Parallel World had before."
"But all those weird anomalies should be gone too, right?"
Qi Chen glanced at Feng Yuan and said
"This matter, you should ask them, how could we possibly know? These things haven’t been made public."
Though the crisis brought by the Parallel World caused quite a stir, the Alliance and various national officials haven’t provided a detailed explanation of what happened.
People weren’t surprised by this; one could say that without Feng Yuan and Tamur, even the Divine Beasts would find it hard to resolve this crisis easily.
Although Feng Yuan hadn’t mentioned what might happen when a Parallel World collides with the real world, just its proximity plunged the real world into a massive crisis, which likely wouldn’t have ended well.
"Well, alright, I’ll ask them later. If all those anomalies have disappeared, then this matter should be thoroughly resolved."
Knowing Qi Chen’s words were fact, Feng Yuan sighed and said.
Qi Xiaoshuang tapped Qi Chen’s hand and gestured at him with her eyes, Qi Chen then scratched his head and said
"By the way, Feng Yuan, you don’t have any plans later, do you?"
"Of course not, why? Is there something?"
Feng Yuan looked puzzled toward Qi Chen and Qi Xiaoshuang sitting on the sofa.
"The Data Square seems to be hosting a special winter event over there, do you plan to take a look?"
"Hm, they’re hosting an event there? That’s alright, just the three of us?"
Glancing at Xiao Ji and the others, Feng Yuan thought for a moment and said, Qi Chen scratched his head and said
"Aren’t you inviting Hong Zhi and the others?"
"Er, a large group out shopping? I don’t mind, though."
Feng Yuan paused, not understanding what Qi Chen was up to, Qi Xiaoshuang glanced at her older brother and said in frustration
"Goodness, it’s not a large group going shopping. They’re hosting activities over there, like various small-scale Beast Taming challenge games, which isn’t quite the same as competitions. You can go there to relax."
"I see, so this is your suggestion, right?"
Upon hearing this, Feng Yuan looked at Qi Xiaoshuang with a peculiar smile, he figured Qi Chen seemed odd, unlike someone who would suggest this.
Of course, it was different for Different Time Qi Chen, considering they had gone through different experiences, and Different Time Qi Chen was also much older than Qi Chen.
"Hmm, relying solely on my brother won’t do, but I won’t be joining you this time, after all, there’s a generation gap."
Qi Xiaoshuang, seeing she’d been discovered, no longer pretended, and responded decisively, glaring at Qi Xiaoshuang, Qi Chen was about to say something when Feng Yuan interjected
"That’s true, but I think your age isn’t much different from ours."
"Hey! I’m a genius girl! Not one of those genius college...college...college students!"
With a mischievous smile, Feng Yuan said jokingly
"Girls don’t care about their age."
"You’re talking nonsense!"
After some teasing with Qi Xiaoshuang, Feng Yuan felt a bit better, seeing Feng Yuan’s relaxed demeanor, both Qi Chen and Qi Xiaoshuang also felt relieved.
Although they didn’t know Feng Yuan’s exact situation, they could guess that Feng Yuan must have some connection with those people.
Now sending those people off in person, they imagined Feng Yuan must be feeling somewhat uneasy.
That’s why Qi Xiaoshuang suggested that Qi Chen and the others go to the Data Square to relax, as for whether it would affect training?
Having just gone through so much, even Qi Chen wanted a few days of rest, since during the battle they weren’t merely watching the show from the sidelines.
The aftermath of intense combat meant that Ah Mu still lacked motivation for training.
Having agreed to join the fun at the Data Square the next day, Feng Yuan went to the garden, rested his head on the Fluffy Fire Wolfhound, basking in the sun while chatting with Liao Yu over the phone.
The other side was well aware that the crisis had been resolved, since there was notice from above instructing them to wrap up the final tasks.
As for how serious this crisis was?
Though there was no announcement, they couldn’t grasp everything, but back then, a massive group of Divine Beasts moved together with unmistakable commotion that couldn’t be hidden from everyone.
A matter requiring so many Divine Beasts surely wouldn’t be minor, though Liao Yu and the others weren’t curious enough to dig around.
After all, with Feng Yuan there, he surely knew the inside story, not to mention some information could be detrimental to those who knew it.
From Feng Yuan, they got a rough understanding of this crisis, and Liao Yu and the others realized why so many Divine Beasts were deployed.
Such a crisis being triggered is truly worthy of being called a miracle of the ultra-ancient civilization.
Feng Yuan didn’t explain things too thoroughly, fearing someone might harbor ideas about the Parallel World, potentially causing even bigger trouble.
Fortunately, the Mythical Era has been deified in the modern era, so even the most extraordinary things are considered normal by most, without digging into the secrets behind them.
"You, weren’t injured, were you?"
Dou Yanlan returned home to find this man anxiously waiting inside. He glanced towards the kitchen, lowered his voice and said
"Don’t let her know."
Observing the man’s slightly disheveled uniform, Dou Yanlan nodded, tidied up her clothes, and briefly told her mother she would go outside with him.
Dou Yanlan’s mother was happy to see the two reconciled, naturally didn’t object and even encouraged her.
With a smile, she watched the two leave home, and as they left, her smile faded and she murmured
"All of you fear I’ll worry, but... I’m not stupid... you can’t fool me the same way anymore..."
She had long guessed Dou Yanlan must be involved in something dangerous, considering he’d made no progress over so many years, still using the same old tactics to "handle" her.
However, at that time, Dou Yanlan had already set out, and saying anything was too late, so she pretended not to know to prevent needless anxiety in the father-daughter duo.
If possible, she truly wished Dou Yanlan wouldn’t always be involved in such dangerous matters.
Yet she understood that the path of a Beastmaster is inherently like this; without power, when disaster strikes, perhaps the only choice is waiting quietly for rescue...
The man led Dou Yanlan to a secluded corner not far from home and, full of concern, asked if Dou Yanlan encountered any trouble.
Dou Yanlan didn’t reject the man’s concern, and after learning about the Parallel World, the man nervously surveyed the surroundings and suddenly released his beasts to use special Ultimate Moves.
"Remember, don’t mention this matter again, don’t casually reveal this secret; if those who command Temporal Spirit Beasts catch wind..."
"Perhaps, it’s not that dangerous. Having something like this happen, they can’t refuse to explain to the Alliance; besides, I don’t fully understand the inside story either."
With a smile, Dou Yanlan wasn’t particularly worried, since Feng Yuan hadn’t warned them to stay silent, clearly he didn’t believe the secret would be well concealed.
After all, with so many Divine Beasts involved, those friendly to humans are likely to reveal it.
Hearing Dou Yanlan say this, the man realized he was overreacting due to concern; if the Alliance knew nothing about this event, that would be truly strange.
Recalling a phrase Dou Yanlan had mentioned earlier, the man asked perplexedly
"Why, did you say he changed your future?"
