Dragon Monarch System
Chapter 1097:- Beginning of Vengeance [I]
Hoshigaoka City,
Malakor Harrington watched from a far distance as Hoshigaoka City got burned to the ground. Despite killing so many people, he showed no sign of remorse or regret.
The walls that once protected the city had already collapsed in many places and were now engulfed in flames. This destruction was the result of a special type of exploding rune created by Aditya.
He had compressed Crimson Flames into rune formations and sealed them inside specially prepared metal plates. Once a single rune was activated, it would trigger the nearest rune, which would then activate the next one, creating a devastating chain reaction of explosions.
Each explosion carried enough destructive power to instantly kill most 5th-order cultivators caught within the blast radius. Even Beginner 6th-order cultivators would not emerge unscathed if they were too close to the detonation.
The explosions tore through stone, metal, and defensive structures with terrifying force, turning entire sections of the city walls into burning rubble within seconds.
The preparations for this attack had begun the previous night. Under Aditya’s orders, several of his subordinates secretly moved around the city and planted diamond-shaped metal plates throughout the walls.
Each plate was roughly the size of a person’s palm and was engraved with the special exploding runes. Thanks to the speed and abilities of 7th-order cultivators, completing such a task under the cover of darkness was surprisingly easy.
Some of the rune plates were hidden inside existing cracks in the walls. Others were placed by carving small holes into the stone before carefully sealing them inside. The placements were not random. Every rune plate was positioned approximately fifty to seventy meters away from the next one.
This distance had been carefully calculated beforehand because it allowed the explosions to trigger one another in sequence. Once the first rune detonated, the entire network activated almost instantly, creating a chain of destruction that spread throughout the city’s defensive walls and left them completely devastated.
The same thing happened in two other cities that suffered the same fate. Under the cover of darkness, several 7th-order cultivators quietly infiltrated those cities and planted the rune formations needed for Aditya’s plan. For cultivators of their level, sneaking into heavily guarded cities was not particularly difficult. In fact, the operation became even easier because Aditya’s subordinates had spent days carefully gathering information about the cities’ defences.
They knew almost everything about the guards who were responsible for protecting the city walls. They knew their patrol schedules, the sections of the walls they were assigned to guard, the routes they followed, and even the times when they changed shifts.
They also gathered information about the patrol teams that moved through the streets during the night. Because of this, the infiltrators were able to avoid detection and move freely through the cities while carrying out their mission.
This intelligence gathering was one of the main things Aditya had been working on ever since arriving in Bluestar City. While other people only saw him leaving occasionally during the daytime, very few knew how much preparation was taking place behind the scenes.
From time to time, he would personally go out to scout locations or gather information. His visits to the Wind Dragon Clan and the Night Rider Sect were both part of that process. However, he rarely spent more than two hours outside before returning.
The majority of his time was spent inside his room working on rune formations. Day after day, he focused on creating the tools and formations needed for his plan. Every rune had to be prepared in advance. Every formation had to be tested and carefully designed. There was no room for mistakes.
If he wanted his plan to succeed, then every piece of preparation had to be completed before the deadline. Because of that, while everyone else was sleeping or relaxing, Aditya was often working tirelessly to make sure every detail of the operation was ready when the time finally came.
Before the operation began, Aditya had already prepared a detailed list of people he wanted eliminated. Every name on that list was carefully selected. Alongside each target’s name was information regarding their location during the planned time of the operation.
In cases where an exact location could not be confirmed, an estimated location was provided instead. Aditya wanted to make sure that every important member of the Night Rider Sect or the loyal dogs of the Sect was accounted for and that nobody escaped simply because of a lack of information.
Over the past several days, his subordinates had worked tirelessly gathering intelligence on each target. Their efforts were so thorough that many of the sect’s important members had unknowingly exposed almost every aspect of their daily lives.
By the time the operation began, Aditya possessed enough information that his 7th-order subordinates often needed less than two seconds to locate and kill their assigned targets. The attacks happened with incredible speed and precision because they were backed by accurate and reliable intelligence.
Whenever an exact location could not be determined, his people focused on gathering information about the target’s daily habits instead. Through observation, surveillance, and sometimes simple bribery, they learned where these people preferred to spend their time. They discovered which restaurants they visited, which training grounds they used, which friends they frequently met, and which routes they normally travelled throughout the day.
Using all of this information, the most likely locations of each target during the operation were carefully marked on maps. This greatly increased the chances of finding them, even if their exact whereabouts remained unknown.
Aditya did not personally oversee this part of the operation. Instead, he entrusted the entire process to Athena, Freya, and Rin. With their intelligence, experience, and ability to analyse information, they were more than capable of organising such a large-scale intelligence network and ensuring that every target remained under constant observation until the operation began.
The Goddess of Wisdom played an extremely important role in the success of Aditya’s plan. While Aditya was responsible for creating the overall strategy, Athena helped refine every detail and eliminate weaknesses that might have been overlooked.
Her insight and ability to analyse information allowed the plan to become far more efficient and precise. In many ways, she transformed a good plan into an exceptional one. Thanks to her contributions, every part of the operation was carefully coordinated, making it possible to bring an entire city to its knees within just a few minutes.
The Goddess of War contributed in a different way. Drawing upon her vast experience, she helped identify potential problems and provided valuable suggestions regarding the execution of the operation.
She also supplied additional resources whenever they were needed. On the final day before the attack, she even dispatched more trusted men to gather extra intelligence.
Although the preparations had already been extensive, she wanted to ensure that no important detail was overlooked and that Aditya had the most accurate information possible before the operation began.
As for Rin, her contribution was equally important. Together with Freya, who acted as her bodyguard, she travelled between multiple cities gathering information. Whenever they captured individuals who possessed useful knowledge, Rin used her Spiritual World to interrogate them.
Even the most stubborn and loyal people eventually broke under her methods and revealed valuable information. Through these interrogations, they learned countless details regarding troop movements, defensive positions, important personnel, schedules, and many other things that later played a crucial role in the success of Aditya’s plan.
"This time, my grandson really surprised both of us."
When Malakor was told to attack Hoshigaoka, he was dumbfounded when he was given a small notebook.
Malakor Harrington took out the small notebook and opened it.
"To think it took me almost an hour to remember everything in this book." There was no helping it. The book contained too much information.
There were even side notes about some individuals that he should not underestimate, as they either had some powerful defensive artefact or had some kind of dangerous skill.
’Aditya went through all this to make sure that the operation ended in just three minutes. And also to make sure that with this much information about the enemy, everyone he sent returns without a single scratch.’ 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
’What a terrifying planning ability.’ Malakor Harrington was beyond impressed. He felt pity for his enemies.
The book contained detailed instructions from beginning to end. Even though Aditya was not physically present, it felt as if he was personally standing beside him and guiding him through every step of the operation. Every action had already been planned in advance. The instructions clearly explained what needed to be done, when it needed to be done, and how it needed to be done.
Step by step, Aditya directed the entire operation through those written instructions. The book told him which route to take when entering the city, which streets to avoid, and even which exit he should use after completing his objective. Every movement had already been calculated beforehand.
The instructions did not stop there. The book also specified which teleportation array he should use after leaving the city and where he needed to go next. It even contained information about the timing of certain actions and the order in which different objectives needed to be completed. The deeper he read, the more shocked he became.
The amount of preparation that had gone into this plan was simply terrifying.
It was clear that Aditya had spent countless hours thinking through every possible scenario and preparing for every possible outcome. Even from far away, he was controlling the entire operation with incredible precision. The level of detail was so thorough that it almost felt as if Aditya could see everything happening in real time.
At the end, Harrington realised just how terrifying Aditya’s mind truly was. Every detail had been carefully arranged and connected to the next. It was as if an invisible hand was moving pieces across a giant chessboard, and everyone else was simply following the path that Aditya had already prepared for them.
