"I don’t know," Mabel Quinn said, "I only know that Kyle really despises this child, he won’t let the child stay."

"Is there really no other way?" Alice Conley asked reluctantly.

Mabel Quinn forced a bitter smile, "Alice, I know you want to help me keep the child, but it’s too difficult. Even if we manage to delay for a few more days, in the end, we still can’t keep it."

As Alice Conley walked out of the hospital room, Dorian Howards approached her, "You’ve been crying?" He gently stroked her slightly red eyes with his fingers.

"Let’s go back," Alice took a deep breath and said, though she had already made up her mind. Mabel had once helped her immensely; without Mabel, her family would have long fallen apart.

And now, she had to do everything she could to help Mabel keep this child.

The night was deep, a figure only now slowly approached the room, and the bodyguard on duty at the door, upon seeing who it was, naturally didn’t dare to stop him and let him into the hospital room.

The room was dim, but this level of dimness was nothing to Kyle Kinston. Even in darkness, his night vision was good enough to see her clearly.

He walked to the bedside and looked down at the person lying there. For some reason, he was a bit afraid of seeing her indifference, alienation, and calmness, so he chose to come to her room after she was asleep.

His fingers reached gently towards her face but stopped a little short of touching her. Then his hand moved lightly, as if caressing her face, her eyebrows, and eyes, but his fingertips never actually touched her, as if he was afraid of waking her up.

As long as this issue with the child is resolved, then things between him and her would gradually get better.

He kept reassuring himself with such thoughts.

Kyle was shocked, "You’re awake?"

"I heard from the nurse that you’ve been coming very late these days and leaving very early?" she asked.

"I thought you didn’t want to see me," he answered.

This time, it was her turn to remain silent. She sat up, but still held onto his hand, not letting go, "Kyle, I want to be discharged, can I go back to the Kinston mansion?"

"Discharged?" he was a bit surprised.

"Yes, the injuries I got from the car accident are just superficial wounds, they are not serious anymore. And regarding my uncle, his condition has stabilized. Although we don’t know when he’ll wake up, at least his life is no longer in danger and he should be transferred to the general ward by tomorrow or the day after."
