"Yes." Dorian nodded slightly, this bit of news was something he had managed to uncover through careful questioning. Of course, he owed it to his wife for pushing him to find out more.

"Does Mabel know? Kyle Kinston isn’t planning to secretly put Mabel on the operating table, is he?" Alice Conley asked.

Dorian rolled his eyes, "Mabel is the person Kyle loves the most. It wouldn’t go that far."

"The most love?" Alice snorted disdainfully, "I used to think that way, but now I don’t. What kind of man would make the woman he loves most abort their child, and even use her relatives to threaten her?"

"Kyle has his reasons," Dorian said.

"What reasons? Tell me!" Alice snapped irritably.

How could he explain that? Dorian rubbed his nose and admitted defeat.

Alice didn’t continue to argue with her husband on this point, but instead pressed her lips together, pondering. She had come up with many solutions lately, but upon closer examination, none seemed realistic.

Moreover, this was J City, and most of Dorian’s connections were over in Falling City. Here in J City, they couldn’t really exert any influence.

At this moment, Alice truly wished her husband were from J City. If he were from a prominent family here, they would have some leverage to get things done, right?

Even if Kyle Kinston were a strong outsider, he might not be able to overpower a local big shot!

Suddenly, Alice had a shiver of realization and thought of someone. If it were that person... perhaps there really was a way, perhaps they could give Mabel’s unborn child a fighting chance!

As it stood now, the only person she could turn to was this individual.

Acting immediately on her thoughts, Alice went straight to the Harris Estate the next day to find Daniel Harris.

At this point, the only person she could think of who might be able to help was Daniel. Of course, it depended if Daniel was willing to lend a hand, since Mabel is now married to Kyle Kinston, and had previously clearly rejected Daniel.

Daniel Harris looked surprised at the person standing before him. Naturally, he knew this Alice Conley was Mabel’s friend, "Is there something you need from me?" Daniel asked coolly.

"You... should know about Mabel’s recent car accident, right?" Alice inhaled deeply, planning to first test Daniel’s response.

"I know." A touch of seriousness colored Daniel’s expression. He had actually been to the hospital and observed Mabel from afar, ensuring she hadn’t noticed him. Additionally, once he heard of the car accident, he immediately sought out information, and once he confirmed she had only suffered minor injuries, he finally relaxed.

"Do you know about her pregnancy? The doctor found out after the car accident in the hospital," Alice continued, observing Daniel’s expression.

Daniel’s demeanor, however, showed no change. He simply said lightly, "Really? Then congratulations are due to Mabel and Mr. Kinston; in 7-8 months, they’ll be parents."

Alice perceptively caught onto something—7-8 months, Daniel knew the timing of Mabel’s pregnancy? That meant... Daniel must have already known about Mabel’s pregnancy!

Mabel’s pregnancy was information Alice had overheard accidentally, and Kyle was determined to abort the child, so few people knew about Mabel’s pregnancy. If Daniel wanted to know, he must have found out through some means.
