Engagement Annulled? Now The Husbands Kneel and Beg for Her Favor
Chapter 37: We Can’t Learn Such a Method
The message was from an unknown number. The content was blunt: [Alone?]
Jiang Qingli looked at the string of numbers and frowned. "Are you sure this is my ex-fiancé?"
After breaking off the engagement, Jiang Qingli had blocked all of them.
’How did they find me again?’
’Could it be about Chi Yun?’
Jiang Qingli picked up her terminal, wanting to see if she could get some information out of him.
Jiang Qingli: [Who is this?]
The reply came quickly: [You know who I am. No need to pretend with me.]
Jiang Qingli: ?
’It doesn’t look like I’ll get anything out of him with this attitude.’
Jiang Qingli blocked the number directly.
A few seconds later, another message came from a different unknown number: [It’s Yu Chenglan.]
Jiang Qingli frowned in disgust upon seeing the name.
Her attention was on the screen when a cool sensation suddenly enveloped her earlobe.
Jiang Qingli flinched her shoulders and gently pushed at Ye Linyuan’s face. "That tickles."
"Endure it."
Ye Linyuan’s voice was cold, yet he pressed closer, his lips moving down to land on the side of her neck.
Then, just as Jiang Qingli lowered her guard, he turned her face and bit her lips once more.
The girl’s soft lips made Ye Linyuan narrow his eyes.
Her slender fingers rested against the skin of his chest, touching the mark there.
Almost instantly, Ye Linyuan felt a sharp, tingling numbness, as if an electric current had shot through him.
Clearly, he was the one with the upper hand between them.
And yet, he had the illusion of being controlled, of being possessed. Her every move tugged at his heart and soul. His breath hitched in a frantic tremor as she wrapped her arms around his neck, meeting his kiss.
Ye Linyuan felt he should be resisting, that love and desire were things that didn’t belong to him.
But his thoughts were completely out of his control, forced to sink into the searing heat, even wanting her to conquer him more...
At some point, the atmosphere had changed.
When Jiang Qingli came back to her senses, she found herself and Ye Linyuan squeezed into a corner of the sofa. Her terminal was long gone, and her pajamas were hanging precariously loose.
Displeased by her distraction, Ye Linyuan tried to continue, but Jiang Qingli covered his mouth.
His golden, vertical pupils narrowed in displeasure, a heavy, gloomy mood gathering in his eyes.
’Is she still thinking about that fish?’
’So disobedient.’
’Perhaps I shouldn’t have let Jiang Qingli leave that morning.’
’I should lock her in the master bedroom in the Underground City, shackling her slender white wrists and ankles with chains.’
’That way, her eyes wouldn’t see any other males, and she wouldn’t think about anyone else...’
The dark snake stared at the girl in his arms with those vertical pupils, contemplating the feasibility of this plan.
Kissed until she was dizzy, Jiang Qingli didn’t notice that the male holding her was thinking about how to have her all to himself.
She lowered her eyes, a little embarrassed as she suggested, "Can we go to the bed? This space is too cramped..."
The gloom in Ye Linyuan’s eyes instantly dispersed.
’So she wasn’t thinking about her ex-fiancé.’
Ye Linyuan’s answer was to bend down, scoop her up into a princess carry, and toss her onto the soft mattress.
Jiang Qingli landed amidst the bedding. Lying on her back, she looked up at the young man approaching her, her cheeks growing slightly hot.
Then she suddenly remembered something she had been curious about for a long time. "Oh, can I ask you a question?"
Ye Linyuan brushed her hair aside with one hand, his fingers pushing up her clothes as he replied in a cool, slightly hoarse voice, "Ask."
The girl moved a little closer, stared at his lips, and asked very seriously, "When you’re in your Half-beastman form, does your tongue fork?"
Ye Linyuan: "..."
His vertical pupils stared at her unblinkingly for a few seconds. Then, Ye Linyuan suddenly curled his thin lips and leaned in to kiss her.
His low, husky voice fell beside her ear with his breath—
"Open your mouth and feel for yourself."
---
「The next morning, in the dining room.」
Yi Nuo placed breakfast before Baili Jing and Qin Muye in turn, his eyes lowered respectfully. "Please, enjoy your meal."
"Where’s your master?" Qin Muye raised an eyebrow.
"The young lady hasn’t woken up yet," Yi Nuo said.
"Still not awake this late." Qin Muye scoffed, then stood up magnanimously. "I’ll go wake her."
With that, he started walking out.
His brisk footsteps showed no sign of annoyance; on the contrary, he seemed eager.
After a few steps, Qin Muye suddenly felt that something was off.
Usually, whenever he mentioned Jiang Qingli, Baili Jing would be eager to put on airs, or he’d act while smiling hypocritically. Why was he so quiet now?
Qin Muye looked back. Baili Jing was sitting at the dining table, elegantly sipping his juice, his eyelashes lowered, hiding his expression.
Instead, it was Yi Nuo who stepped forward, looking troubled. "I’ll wake the young lady, Prince. Please, have your meal first."
Qin Muye felt it was even more strange. "What is she even doing?"
A strong sense of crisis rose within him.
Just then, footsteps sounded from behind him.
Qin Muye looked toward the other end of the hallway and saw Jiang Qingli, dressed in a long skirt, and Ye Linyuan walking over, one after the other.
There was half a meter of space between them, but upon a closer look, they were holding hands!
Qin Muye took a deep breath, feeling as if the air had turned to kerosene and set his heart ablaze.
He returned to his seat, slamming the chair noisily, every movement venting his dissatisfaction.
As expected, Jiang Qingli’s attention was caught. "What’s wrong? Why are you so angry this early in the morning?"
Qin Muye was about to answer.
But the moment the girl came closer, he sensed the strong scent of a male on her—colorless, odorless, and formless, something a female would never notice.
But every male present now understood the reason she had woken up late.
In the entire dining room, everyone’s expression changed to varying degrees, except for Jiang Qingli and Ye Linyuan.
Qin Muye picked up a piece of toast and, as if venting his anger, bit down hard and chewed forcefully, as if he were eating the raw flesh and bone of a certain snake.
If looks could kill, he would have already stared two holes into Ye Linyuan’s face.
After breakfast, Jiang Qingli was in a hurry to get to the Royal Academy. She said a quick goodbye and left in a rush with Yi Nuo.
Qin Muye pushed his chair back and stormed out, forcefully bumping Ye Linyuan’s shoulder as he passed.
Ye Linyuan paid him no mind at all.
He turned his head and met Baili Jing’s gaze.
"Mr. Ye is truly worthy of someone from the Underground City," Baili Jing said with a smile. "The methods you use to serve a female master are beyond what an ordinary person can compare to."
Ye Linyuan raised an eyebrow, not surprised that Baili Jing had managed to investigate his identity.
Even if Baili Jing knew, it was impossible for him to expose it.
He was Jiang Qingli’s Beast Husband, marked and possessed by her.
If his identity were exposed and he were sentenced, Jiang Qingli would inevitably be implicated.
Baili Jing clearly had no intention of doing so, or he wouldn’t have said anything.
Ye Linyuan’s low voice held obvious mockery. "Jealous?"
He unhurriedly rolled up his shirtsleeve, revealing a well-defined forearm and several distinct scratch marks on his pale skin.
A thick wave of disgust flashed in Baili Jing’s eyes. "I’m not as petty as you think, Mr. Ye. This is just a reminder: I’m not the only one investigating you. Hide your tail well, and don’t let it affect her."
Ye Linyuan replied coldly, "I don’t need you to teach me."
Baili Jing smiled and turned to leave.
His terminal flashed, displaying a message from "Imperial Royal Academy - Teacher Ye"—
[Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to participate in the event. Here is the list of students for this class. Please take a look [Table]]
Baili Jing opened it. His gaze fell on the two words "Jiang Qingli," and his lips curled into a slight smile. A few seconds later, the smile faded, replaced by a worried sigh.
’We’re going to meet again. Will she avoid me this time?’
