Eternal Life by Dual Cultivation
Chapter 296 - 194: Meeting Without Recognition
"Sister Lan, I heard this place was just ocean a little over twenty years ago. It was only after a chain of underwater supervolcanoes erupted that this new land was formed."
Another sweet, melodious voice explained.
Aboard a magnificent and luxurious ocean-going Sea Boat with more than twenty decks, a pair of stunningly beautiful women stood by the railing, their clear, lovely eyes surveying the port before them.
The slightly more mature woman wore a fiery-red celestial gown. She had long, shapely legs and fair, delicate skin that seemed flawless.
The beautiful woman in red had stunning features, yet she also carried a graceful and reserved scholarly air. The tassels of a golden hairpin in her elaborate updo trembled slightly, casting a magnificent, shimmering light.
The other young woman was clad in tight-fitting, jet-black leather armor. She had an oval face, phoenix eyes, and carried a Soft Whip. Her glossy black hair was tied into a single ponytail, and she appeared to be no older than seventeen or eighteen.
If Ling Changqing were present, he would have easily recognized the two sisters.
Yu Yalan and Yu Youqin. After several years of traveling, the two prodigies of the Yu Family had finally arrived in the Feiyu Sea Region.
Yu Yalan scanned her surroundings, her dark brows furrowing slightly.
"The Steward in charge of intelligence for the coastal regions reported that just a few years ago, this place was in complete disarray, plagued by incessant conflict.
Then, a clan named Ling unexpectedly rose, sweeping aside the many Small Clans and unifying this entire sea region?"
Yu Youqin smiled. "That's right. But at the end of the day, they're just a Golden Core power. For us, that's nothing worth mentioning!"
As a prodigy from the foremost Noble Family in Yuzhou, she naturally looked down on such a meager achievement.
Yu Yalan said thoughtfully, "Nothing else seems unusual, but the fact that this place is called Changqing Continent... Doesn't that feel a little strange?"
Yu Youqin said, "What's so strange about that? We've seen plenty of places with similar names throughout our travels, haven't we?"
Yuzhou was a vast region. There were countless places named "Changqing"—Changqing City, Changqing Pass, Changqing Sect... the list was endless.
On one island chain, the sisters had even discovered a Changqing Immortal Dynasty founded by some fellow named Chen Changqing. In reality, it was just a small mortal kingdom a few thousand miles across.
Because of this, the name "Changqing" no longer held any significance for Yu Youqin.
'She even suspected the name Ling Changqing was fake, just like Wang Chang'an and Mu Fanqing. They were probably all just aliases the Child of Destiny used to hide his identity.'
'Never mind other leads. In recent years, the Yu Family's intelligence network alone had found thousands—maybe even close to ten thousand—suspicious individuals named Ling Changqing. Not a single one turned out to be him.'
"That's true," Yu Yalan said. "Still, we should go and meet with the leader of this place. We can ask about the situation and then head elsewhere." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Alright."
The two sisters then spent several hours wandering around Changqing Continent. They also took a tour of the Marketplace, where they discovered that both Xianyin Pavilion and the Xingyun sun Commerce Association had branches.
Xianyin Pavilion was one of the three major Hidden Sects in Yuzhou, while the Xingyun sun Commerce Association was one of its three largest merchant guilds.
So, the two of them went inside to browse for a moment. As expected, they met Meng Feiyu and Xue Qingtan. They chatted casually for a while but noticed nothing out of the ordinary.
A little more than half an hour later, the sisters appeared in the Council Hall at the Ling Family's main compound.
Upon learning the news, Ling Qiyue did not dare to be disrespectful. She personally received them in her capacity as Patriarch and arranged for several Female Cultivator Elders to attend to them, with not a single male Elder present.
With the distinguished guests right in front of her, she couldn't secretly send word to Ling Changqing. She could only play things by ear.
In the Pill Hall, Ling Changqing had just finished refining a cauldron of second rank Lifespan Extension Pills. He deactivated the Array Restriction with practiced ease, intending to find Ling Qiyue.
He searched for her in the Women's Embroidery Tower but found no one, so he made his way to the Council Hall.
The entrance was heavily guarded. There were three times the usual number of family guards—all clad in black Magical Robes, Longswords strapped to their backs, their expressions grim.
Ling Changqing was somewhat surprised. He asked the captain of the guard, who informed him that the Patriarch was entertaining honored guests.
A few moments later, when Ling Changqing stepped into the Council Hall, he saw Yu Yalan and Yu Youqin—sisters he hadn't seen in years.
Yu Yalan's true Cultivation was at the Golden Core Peak, while Yu Youqin was at the Early stage Golden Core, meaning she must have advanced recently.
Upon seeing Ling Changqing appear, the gazes of Qin Yun, Tang Qiu Yao, and the other women in the hall grew strange, but none of them spoke.
As his Dao Companions, they knew the real situation.
Ling Changqing's expression remained impassive as he continued unhurriedly into the hall.
The sisters spared a casual glance for the handsome, black-robed youth with a cold glint in his eyes who had just walked in, then turned away and paid him no further attention.
With Gong Ling's assistance, Ling Changqing's appearance was completely transformed. Even his Celestial Secret Qi Number was perfectly concealed; not even a Nascent Soul True Monarch would be able to spot the deception face-to-face.
"Patriarch, I have something important to report."
Ling Changqing bowed slightly, his voice calm.
Ling Qiyue's expression was unperturbed. She said dismissively,
"Go and wait to the side. I am currently hosting distinguished guests from the Yu Family."
Ling Changqing assented, bowed again, and retreated to one side.
