The powerful shockwave of sound left the forty Archers dazed and dizzy, while the other men and their horses felt a sharp pain piercing their eardrums.

"This is bad! Guo Wei is in the True Martial Realm!"

Hamu’s expression changed drastically. Recalling Zamuhai’s miserable state, even the warhorse beneath him seemed to sense his fear and instinctively tried to back away.

"Kill him! Whoever does it will be Prince Andre’s guest of honor and can become a tribal leader! Go, kill him!"

Xie Xiaohuan instinctively backed away as well, but his voice was even louder as he goaded them on.

"Master!"

From the direction of the Hundred Thousand Mountains, Chu Lingguang came charging out on Little Red Horse. He had even heard Guo Wei shout Xie Xiaohuan’s name.

’Why is that eagle still following me? Don’t tell me there’s someone else behind me?’

As Chu Lingguang charged out of the Hundred Thousand Mountains, he had already noticed the eagle circling high above. He’d tried to shoot it down several times, but unfortunately, the bird was far too alert. The moment he so much as touched his bow, it would immediately soar higher, well out of his range.

Fortunately, he had finally escaped Bamo and the Scorpion Python, bursting out of the Hundred Thousand Mountains to see the Thousand-Mile Plain spread out before him once more.

"Master!"

At the same time, Chu Lingguang quickly spotted the force of some two hundred men, as well as Guo Wei charging straight toward them from the distance.

His Spiritual Sense had evolved. Although his eyes couldn’t compare to the eagle’s high above, Chu Lingguang could still clearly make out the figure over a kilometer away.

The situation unfolding before him was completely unexpected.

Guo Wei was charging in alone, apparently to help him.

When he first saw the two-hundred-strong force, he had considered retreating into the Hundred Thousand Mountains and taking a detour back to Great Yuan. But upon seeing Guo Wei charge headlong into their ranks, Chu Lingguang swooped down along the flank of the enemy formation.

Bamo had achieved Qi Sea Great Success; even the Scorpion Python couldn’t gain an advantage against him. ’If it weren’t for my Archery reaching Great Success and my Four-Star Linked Pearls technique,’ Chu Lingguang thought, ’I would have been helpless against him.’

Chu Lingguang feared that if he charged directly into the fray, an expert from the crowd would kill him with a single palm strike.

That was why he planned to cut across the edge of the formation, catch Guo Wei’s eye, and have his master quickly break out of the encirclement so they could escape together.

As he drew closer, Chu Lingguang shouted, "Master!"

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!

At the same time, he loosed the last five or six arrows in his quiver, knocking just as many riders from their saddles.

"There’s someone behind us!"

"It’s Chu Lingguang! Kill him, now!"

Xie Xiaohuan glanced back, his face lighting up with glee. Chu Lingguang hadn’t made it back to Great Yuan after all! He quickly ordered a squad to charge after him.

Chu Lingguang was prepared. He didn’t engage the group head-on, instead hugging the border of the Hundred Thousand Mountains as he galloped toward Great Yuan.

SPURT!

Guo Wei’s Spear Technique was matchless, but even he could not hold out against such overwhelming numbers. What’s more, the warriors of the Aika Tribe all cultivated the Divine Beast Breathing Method and drank Beast Blood daily, granting them astonishing Qi Power.

Fighting his way through them would take time and come at a great cost.

Fortunately, Chu Lingguang had appeared in his line of sight, safe and sound. He was hugging the edge of the Hundred Thousand Mountains, making a run for the national border.

This meant he no longer had to charge straight through the two-hundred-strong force; he could break out from the side to link up with Chu Lingguang.

BANG!

But just then, a loud BANG echoed from within the Hundred Thousand Mountains.

A young man shot out from the woods. He tapped his feet on a massive boulder at the forest’s edge and took off running in Chu Lingguang’s direction. With a loud CRACK, the boulder he’d launched from shattered into pieces.

The young man’s aura was overwhelming.

A bestial roar echoed from within his Qi Sea. Though on foot, his speed was no less than that of a Turkic Warhorse, and it was clear he had been running for a great distance.

He left a trail of yellow dust in his wake.

"Look, Chu Lingguang is alright!"

Du Juan spotted the figure emerging from the Hundred Thousand Mountains, hugging its edge as he rushed toward the border. As he drew closer, she realized it was Chu Lingguang and couldn’t help but cheer.

"Baru, aren’t you going to make them stop?!"

Zhuoyi demanded furiously.

"Guo Wei was the one who chose to charge back in. He’s already killed so many of our warriors. If he wants to live, he can fight his own way out."

Baru said, his face dark.

He had his soldiers guard the national gate, refusing to let Wei Tu’s forces take a single step across. For the moment, Wei Tu, Zhuoyi, and the others were helpless.

Guo Wei was just an old master from a Martial Arts Hall; his trespassing into Turkic lands wouldn’t necessarily incite a war. Zhuoyi, however, held an official post, Pan Tonghui was a member of the Black Armored Army, and Wei Tu’s rank was even higher. None of them could risk their lives for Guo Wei’s sake.

All they could do was watch Guo Wei and Chu Lingguang, hoping the two could fight their way out of the encirclement.

"Look! There’s someone behind Chu Lingguang!"

Du Wushuang exclaimed in alarm.

"It’s him!"

"I’ve finally found him again!"

Yan Zhen cried out, an ecstatic expression suddenly on his face as he quickly stripped off his soldier’s armor.

BOOM!

He then launched himself in Chu Lingguang’s direction, leaping over the heads of Baru’s soldiers. Wei Tu saw a clear footprint indented into the stone paving where Yan Zhen had just been standing.

"Wei Tu, are you trying to provoke a conflict between our nations?"

Baru roared.

"That man is unaffiliated. He’s not one of my soldiers."

Wei Tu tossed the armor Yan Zhen had left behind to Baru, who caught it. Behind him, a Deputy watched Yan Zhen’s departing figure, seemed to recall something, and whispered in Baru’s ear. Baru’s face filled with utter disbelief.
