"What did you just say?" Victor’s eyes widened and his mouth hung open as he looked at Amber in disbelief. She wore a regretful expression on her face as she nodded her head in confirmation.

Few Minutes Earlier

"Primordial Ice Manipulation - Freeze!" Amber waved her hands, and a large number of monsters turned into ice sculptures. She was helping the soldiers fight the monsters, and everyone looked at her with awe.

"Heavens, I did not expect Miss Amber to be this strong."

"How come she has an ice bloodline, and it even seems to be black? Don’t they have a different Warlock Bloodline which allows them to control metal?"

"Yeah, maybe she just unlocked another bloodline. It’s good that she is Lord Victor’s partner, otherwise I would be worried."

The soldiers started whispering among themselves as they witnessed the terrifying power of her ice abilities. Even some of the mechs, which were at a considerable distance, had frost forming on them.

Bang!

Hundreds of icicle spears impaled the monsters directly through their foreheads, shattering them into crystals.

"!!!" Suddenly, Amber’s eyes dilated and she abruptly halted her movements before whispering, "Impossible... Father is dead?"

She had just sensed that someone from the Oreburgh bloodline had died, and she learned it was her father thanks to the text that appeared on her retina.

[Ding Dong]

[Congratulations, you have gained the title of Countess]

Amber bit her lips; she did not know what to feel. She was extremely pleased that her father had died, yet she also felt somewhat hollow when she realized she could not kill him with her own hands and avenge her mother.

"Sigh, I hope at least he died a miserable death," Amber mumbled, then opened her stats and saw that she had gained the title of Countess.

"Not bad. I will transfer the ownership of Oreburgh County to Master after the fight is over, hehe..." Amber muttered with a blush as she waved her hand and froze another monster nearby that had tried to sneak attack her. She was already imagining getting rewarded naughtily by Victor and eventually marrying him.

As she was daydreaming, her expression stiffened when she saw a new row of text appear, and this time her eyes widened to the size of saucers.

Amber’s mouth hung open at the sudden change. Before she could even celebrate her ascension to Countess, she had immediately lost it. But what left her dumbfounded was that her father had turned into an undead and even reclaimed his position.

"This fucking cockroach, couldn’t he just drop dead properly?" Amber gritted her teeth as she read the text, then a cold smile appeared on her face. "Good, good. I still have a chance to end that bastard with my own hands... and now that you’ve turned into a monster, don’t expect any humane treatment from me."

"Miss Amber, you are back, we—" Sophie, who had rushed over after hearing that Amber had returned, sighed in relief and was about to say something when her body stiffened upon seeing the smile on Amber’s face. She had seen that look before, and every time Amber smiled like that, someone always suffered terribly.

Back at Oreburgh Estate

Few Minutes Earlier

"Hurry, quickly defend the territory!" Pluto Oreburgh barked orders to his soldiers, who were running everywhere frantically and struggling to contain the magical beasts.

"Damn, why all of a sudden... even all my sons have been killed... and Amber is the only child I have left." Pluto gritted his teeth. Honestly, even though he knew how capable his daughter was, he had never intended to hand over the county to her, as it was always the eldest son who became the Count.

He had planned to marry her off to Victor and have her tame him, then use the Mechs created by his son-in-law to conquer the world and establish the Oreburgh Kingdom. In short, he had planned to use Victor as a tool for his and his sons’ rise, but now...

"Damn it..." he gritted his teeth in fury, and his eyes turned bloodshot as he saw his sons had transformed into some kind of undead and were attacking the Oreburgh Territory.

"Don’t blame me for this... I am putting you all out of your misery. Metallic Chains." Pluto mumbled as he raised his hand, and the metals around him started to bend and shoot toward his undead sons like chains, wrapping around them tightly. As the chains coiled around their bodies, they thrashed violently, trying to escape the restraint.

"Pluto..." suddenly he heard a hoarse voice which sent chills down his spine, and his eyes widened in shock as he said, "You... Impossible."

Pluto, seeing the scene before him, nearly collapsed to the ground in horror when he recognized the woman standing in front of him. She was Fanna Oreburgh, the mother of Amber and Pluto’s first wife.

"You also turned into an undead?" Pluto shouted in disbelief.

"Pluto, why don’t you turn into an undead as well like me? Then I will also find our precious Amber and turn her into an undead too, and then we can live happily as a family," the undead woman said with a twisted smile that sent a wave of terror through his body.

"T-Tier 4..." Pluto’s lips trembled as he watched the undead approach him with a smile on her face.

"Ugh!" Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his stomach when he saw Fanna appear directly in front of him and kiss him on the lips while her hand pierced straight into his chest, clutching his heart in her grasp, which she crushed the very next moment.
