Fated Mate to the Triplet Alpha
Chapter 212 - 213: The Wedding of Worlds
Emma’s wedding dress caught fire the moment she put it on.
"Not again!" she groaned, patting out the flames that had sprung from her nervous energy. This was the third dress this morning, and her wedding was supposed to start in two hours.
"Mom, maybe you should just wear your regular clothes," Luna suggested from the doorway. Her daughter looked pale and weak, the cosmic energy still slowly pulling her away from their dimension.
"Absolutely not," Emma said firmly. "This is our proper wedding, and I’m going to look like a proper bride. Even if I have to make my own dress out of cosmic energy."
She closed her eyes and concentrated. Instead of her usual silver light, Emma let her power flow gently. The burned fabric began repairing itself, growing into something beautiful and simple.
"There," she said, admiring her handiwork. "Nothing fancy, but it’s perfect."
"Emma!" Kael called from downstairs. "The guests are starting to arrive!"
Emma peeked out the window and gasped. Their backyard had somehow expanded into what looked like a huge outdoor cathedral. Beings from every dimension she’d ever visited were taking their seats.
The Devourer sat politely in the front row, its dark energy formed into the shape of a fancy hat. Void had created a small black hole that it was using as a purse. Even Chaos seemed to be behaving, though its constantly shifting form made it hard to tell.
"This is really happening," Emma whispered to herself.
"Are you nervous?" Luna asked, walking over to take her mother’s arm.
Emma looked at her daughter - her brave girl who was slowly fading away but still wanted to walk her down the aisle. "Terrified," she admitted. "What if I mess up the vows? What if my powers go crazy again? What if—"
"Mom," Luna interrupted gently. "You survived cosmic wars, defeated ancient evils, and started a school for magical kids. I think you can handle getting married."
Emma laughed despite her nerves. "When did you get so wise?"
"I learned from the best teacher in any dimension."
Before Emma could respond, Marcus burst through the door looking panicked.
"We have a problem!" he announced. "The Cosmic Judge is here to officiate, but something’s wrong with him. He keeps forgetting what century we’re in."
Emma followed Marcus downstairs and out to the backyard. Sure enough, the Cosmic Judge - a being older than most stars - was standing at the altar looking very confused.
"Is this the wedding of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere?" the Judge asked loudly. "Where are the knights? And why is everyone so strangely dressed?"
The wedding guests looked worried. Without a proper officiant, interdimensional marriages weren’t legal in any reality.
"Judge," Emma called out, walking up to him. "It’s Emma and Kael’s wedding. Remember? You agreed to marry us last week."
The Judge stared at her blankly. "Emma who? And what happened to my ceremonial robes? These look like they’re from the future!"
Emma felt panic rising in her chest. All their friends were here, Luna was getting weaker by the hour, and now their officiant had cosmic dementia.
"This is a disaster," she muttered.
"Actually," said a familiar voice behind her, "I can help with that."
Emma turned to see Riley, her newest student, standing there with her hands glowing softly.
"Riley? What are you doing here?"
"You invited all the cosmic beings, right? Well, I’m cosmic too now," Riley said with a shy smile. "And my power isn’t just about breaking things. I can also fix memories."
"You can do that?"
"I think so. Want me to try?"
Emma looked at the confused Judge, then at all their guests who had traveled across dimensions to be here, then at Luna who was leaning heavily against a chair.
"Do it," Emma decided.
Riley walked up to the Cosmic Judge and gently touched his arm. Her silver light flowed into him, and suddenly his eyes cleared.
"Ah yes!" the Judge said, straightening up. "Emma Blackwood and Kael’s wedding! How could I forget? This is the first marriage to officially unite someone from Earth with someone from the Shadow Realm. Very historic!"
Emma felt relief wash over her. "Thank you, Riley." 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"That’s what students do," Riley said proudly. "We help our teachers."
The wedding music started, played by a band of reformed chaos demons who had learned to make beautiful harmony instead of noise. Emma took Luna’s arm and they began walking down the aisle.
Emma had never felt so happy and so scared at the same time. Every step brought her closer to marrying the love of her life, but also reminded her that Luna was fading away.
"I’m proud of you, Mom," Luna whispered as they walked. "You’re not just getting married. You’re showing everyone that different worlds can come together in love."
When they reached the altar, Kael took Emma’s hands. His touch was warm and solid, grounding her in the moment.
"We are gathered here," the Cosmic Judge began, "to witness something that has never happened before - the joining of two souls from different realities in a love that bridges all worlds."
As the Judge spoke, something magical began happening. Light started flowing between all the wedding guests - beings who had once been enemies, strangers from distant dimensions, reformed monsters, and cosmic authorities all connected by the same gentle energy.
"This wedding," the Judge continued, "represents the balance that Emma and Kael have brought to the universe. Love instead of fear, unity instead of division, hope instead of despair."
Emma felt tears in her eyes. This wasn’t just about her and Kael anymore. It was about proving that different kinds of beings could exist together peacefully.
"Emma Blackwood," the Judge said, "do you take Kael to be your husband, across all dimensions, through all realities, for as long as love exists in any universe?"
"I do," Emma said, her voice strong and clear.
"And Kael," the Judge continued, "do you take Emma to be your wife, accepting all the chaos and adventure that comes with loving someone who can accidentally turn buildings into chocolate?"
Everyone laughed, including Emma.
"I do," Kael said, grinning.
"Then by the power granted to me by the cosmic forces of creation itself, I pronounce you married across all worlds and dimensions!"
As Kael kissed Emma, light exploded from them both - not destructive this time, but pure joy made visible. The light touched every guest, every dimension represented, creating connections that had never existed before.
But in the middle of the celebration, Emma noticed something terrifying.
Luna was becoming transparent.
"Mom," Luna called out weakly, her voice starting to fade. "Something’s happening. I can’t fight it anymore."
Emma ran to her daughter, but her hands passed right through Luna’s shoulders.
"No!" Emma cried. "Not now! Not at my wedding!"
The Cosmic Judge stepped forward, his ancient face grave. "The cosmic energy has claimed her. She has less than five minutes before she disappears forever."
All the wedding guests fell silent.
Emma looked around desperately. "There has to be something we can do! All of you have incredible powers!"
"Actually," said a voice that made everyone freeze, "there is one way to save her."
A figure stepped out from behind the altar - someone Emma had never seen before, wearing robes that seemed to be made of living starlight.
"I am the Keeper of Cosmic Destinies," the figure announced. "And I have been waiting for this moment."
"Who are you?" Emma demanded. "And how can you save my daughter?"
The Keeper smiled sadly. "To save Luna’s life, someone else must take her place as the cosmic guardian. Someone with equal power and the willingness to sacrifice their own existence in this dimension."
Emma didn’t hesitate. "I’ll do it."
"No," Kael said firmly. "We’ll find another way."
"There is no other way," the Keeper said quietly. "And the choice must be made in the next sixty seconds, or Luna will be lost forever."
Emma looked at her new husband, her fading daughter, her students who needed her, and all the beings who had come to celebrate love conquering differences.
In sixty seconds, she would have to choose between saving Luna’s life and giving up her own existence in the world she’d fought so hard to protect.
The cosmic clock was ticking, and Emma Blackwood had never faced a more impossible decision.
