Fated To The Dark Alpha
Chapter 258 - 257. Battle 5: Azrail 2
Happy New Year to each and every one of you!!!!
"I don’t wish that you would be distracted, Azrail," Dmitri’s voice was heard from behind them and they turned to look at where he stood. He had a serious expression on his face as he stared at Lucinda. "Any mistakes could claim your life and you are still very useful, I do not wish to part with you just yet."
"Nothing will happen," Azrail said and moved to stand in front of Lucinda. The way Dmitri was looking at her didn’t sit well with him. There was this killing intent in them which Azrail could recognize very well, he would kill Lucinda if he thought she would not be of help or be an obstacle in his eyes.
Dmitri saw what he did and glared at him too. Azrail was smart, that was one of the reasons liked him, that, and the fact that he was one of the oldest and strongest vampires he had encountered in this era. He would love to tell him to cast the witch aside but he couldn’t because he also had a witch by his side.
"I hope so, if anything happens to you because of her, I will kill her," Dmitri declared. Lucinda glared at him for what he said but Azrail remained poker, not showing any emotion as if that didn’t move him at all. "They are ready, you can have them now," Dmitei said, his features becoming soft now that he was not talking about Azrail dying or killing Lucinda he was sure that if he hurt the little switch, Azrail would attack him, it would be an exciting fight but he didn’t want that happening now. The way he stood proved to him how possessive the Azrail was and it was a trait they all had in them.
"Thank you, My Lord," Azrail said but his stance and position did not change. Dimitri nodded his head and turned around.
"Do not disappoint me, Azrail, I have great expectations of you. Coming back alive is one of them," he stopped to say. Giving one last glance at the witch, Dmitri left using his vampire speed.
"I don’t like him," Lucinda said. She didn’t hate him before and also didn’t like him either. She could not have a specific opinion of him. He said Azrail shouldn’t die which meant he valued Azrail, but he was also the one who said Azrail was still useful, in other words, Azrail was just a vessel that he would cast aside when he was no longer useful. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"Do not take his words to heart," Azrail said and took her right hand, interlocking their fingers. "He would come to help should anything go wrong with me," he said. He felt she should know this and be at ease even if it was just a little. He could not tell her that Dmitri wouldn’t hurt her, he would keep that part of his words, Azrail knew that.
"I don’t hate him either," Lucinda said and he gave a faint smile. He leaned to peck her lips but she turned it into a kiss that he did not oppose. "We should go now," she said after breaking the kiss.

Azrail arrived at the border of the Blood Moon Pack and with the army of Newborns and Ancients, he stopped to listen and could hear Leroy was already there with the vampires. He didn’t want to go there when there was no need to do that.
"Why did you stop?" Lucinda asked, looking up at him. He looked at her and let her down to her feet but kept his hand around her. Those things behind them wouldn’t hesitate to attack her if he let her go.
"Leroy is there," he replied and gave an ’Oh’ sound.
"My Lord," someone called and Dmitri looked at his side and found a vampire who was trying hard to hide that he was afraid of the Ancients looking at him. He was one of the vampires who were under Azrail from Snow Town.
"Report," Azrail ordered.
"The humans are scattered over many packs unlike what we had expected, the Shadow Moon Pack has been burned to rubble...." he hesitated a bit before he continued, "Some humans are marching towards the manor,"
Azrail already knew which manor he was talking about. The place they all resided now was a manor, though surrounded by thick and dense trees, a major was built there to house the vampires and rogue shifters.
"Leave that to Dmitri, he is still there. Where is the human leader, Jared?" Azrail asked still not forgetting what they had done to his town. Though he was grateful to have met Lucinda after leaving his town, it was still a place he spent years building and he did not like that it was destroyed and those he cared for for so long were killed or captured and used as experimental objects and then killed.
"It was reported that Jared was seen heading to the Shadow Moon Pack with a large army. I believe he is after the Alpha Supreme," the vampire replied and Azrail nodded his head.
He would like to have these newborns fight with Jared himself. He wanted him to see his soldiers fighting against him though he knew that Jared wouldn’t waste a second to think before deciding to kill them. That was how much he hated all nonhumans.
"We will go to the Shadow Moon Pack," Azrail declared. "Gather the others and have them head there."
"Yes, Master," the vampire replied, bowed his head and left.
Lucinda stared at him with many questions in her mind that she would like to ask him but couldn’t put the right words due to how surprised she was to see that there were vampires who did not report to Dmitri but to him.
"They were trained by me and are only loyal to me, you don’t have to worry when you are around them," he explained, already understanding what was going through her mind. "Come, we must go." he picked her up again and leaped up to the trees, he looked around them and found the route to take before coming down and looking at the vampires, "Follow me," he ordered.
