Flash Marriage: My Penniless Billionaire Husband
Chapter 26: Can He Forego This Reward?
Janice was stunned for a moment and quickly told him the reason that she had already made up. "It’s an incentive arranged by our TV station. Family members can also be included. I think it would be a good idea. Besides, if we don’t go, it’ll be wasted."
Christopher thought that this was definitely in line with Janice’s frugal style.
However, he hated going to the hospital.
But Janice didn’t need to know that.
"Well, you go first. I’ll go alone next time."
"No, I have to take you there." Janice insisted.
Christopher couldn’t help but frown.
However, when he saw Janice’s expectant eyes, he could not bear to refuse and had no choice but to agree.
The physical examination was scheduled to be on Wednesday, which was the day that Yvonne was on shift.
She had already gotten things ready in the hospital earlier that morning. All she needed was for Janice to bring Christopher over.
Janice led Christopher into the hospital. "This is the physical examination form. I’ve already filled up the information on it. You just need to go to the corresponding counter."
Hearing Janice’s words, Christopher nodded and said, "Got it. You can go."
Janice had wanted to accompany Christopher for the check-up, but Yvonne had said that Christopher might be under pressure if she was around and the check-up results might not be accurate. So she handed the form to Christopher and left.
Christopher saw her leave and quickly called Rob. "You can come in." At the door, Rob, who was wearing a mask, was very depressed.
Last night, Mr. Bateman suddenly said that he wanted to reward him. It wasn’t until he came here that he realized that the so-called reward was to give him a physical examination.
Rob was extremely upset.
Could he forego this reward?
"Mr. Bateman."
Christopher handed over the physical examination form in his hand. "Remember, don’t take off your mask."
"Yes," Rob replied.
After watching Rob leave, Christopher took a private elevator to the top floor of the hospital.
He had a private lounge there.
A small perk of the Bateman family’s shares in the hospital.
Meanwhile, Janice sat anxiously waiting for the result in Yvonne’s office.
She was quite conflicted. She really didn’t think that there was anything wrong with a platonic marriage.
Marriage was originally her refuge from that sordid arrangement that Gladys made.
In the beginning, she still felt a little sorry for Christopher, but since she knew he was not completely normal, she felt less guilty.
After all, there were secrets between the two of them. So this made them evenly matched.
At least, no one would feel that they owed the other person.
Therefore, she did not care about his erectile dysfunction.
However, what if his illness went untreated because of a lack of finances?
And she had the ability now. If she didn’t help, won’t she feel guilty about it in the future?
She knew that she had to help him.
No matter what the result was, she would stand by him.
Just as Janice was thinking about this, Yvonne walked in with Christopher’s examination results. She had asked her colleagues about it.
"How is it?" Janice asked.
Yvonne glanced at her and said, "Congratulations. He’s in good health, there’s nothing wrong with him."
Upon hearing Yvonne’s words, Janice heaved a sigh of relief.
"Hang on, then why does he have erectile dysfunction?"
"Well, it’s hard to say. Maybe it’s because of psychological reasons." Yvonne analyzed.
...
"Psychological reasons?"
Janice frowned. "Isn’t that going to require psychological treatment?"
"More or less, but there are also many people who can overcome their own difficulties. They mainly need to find the psychological barrier and then resolve it."
On the way back, Janice had been thinking about what Yvonne had said. "The root cause needs to be treated."
What kind of psychological reasons did he have that caused him to have sexual problems?
Thinking of this, Janice couldn’t help glancing at Christopher in the driver’s seat. If she asked him, would he tell her?
Christopher felt her gaze and turned to look at her. "What’s wrong? You’ve been looking at me. What’s on my face?"
Janice quickly shook her head and looked away. She said after a pause, "Christopher, is there anything bothering you? Something you’ve always wanted to talk to someone about, but you haven’t found the right opportunity."
Christopher was confused. "Why do you ask?"
Janice was afraid that it would arouse his suspicion, so she said hurriedly, "Well, I just want you to know that if you have any, you can tell me. We are husband and wife."
Christopher finally understood the meaning behind Janice’s words. It turned out that she was afraid that he would have something on his mind.
He said, "Don’t worry. I don’t have such difficulties. If you do, I’m willing to listen to you."
Janice was stumped.
"Forget it. After all, I can’t solve the problem overnight. I’d better take it slow."
Thinking of this, she stopped stressing out.
In the afternoon, when Janice got off work, she passed by a bookstore and went to buy a few books about psychology.
She felt that she needed to help break down the barrier in Christopher’s heart. After all, psychological scars could not be seen or touched, and they could cause problems.
If a person wanted to be healthy, he had to address the root cause of his unhappiness.
She received a call from Christopher as soon as she walked out of the bookstore. "Where are you? I’ll pick you up."
Janice looked around and found that she was already very close to home. She said, "No need. I’m almost home."
After hanging up the phone, she hailed a taxi and got in.
On the other hand, Christopher was sitting in his car’s back seat. Originally, he wanted to pick Janice and let Rob get off the car. However, when he heard Janice was almost home, he asked Rob to stay on and drive him.
Rob silently drove the car. He glanced at Christopher, who was resting with his eyes closed, and couldn’t help but say, "Mr. Bateman, there’s something I don’t know how to say exactly."
"Speak," Christopher said without opening his eyes.
Rob said, "The last time you asked me to go to the hospital on your behalf, are you sure it was just an ordinary physical examination?"
Hearing this, Christopher frowned. "What are you trying to say?"
Rob said with some seriousness, "I have a physical examination every year, and they do not test for any sexual function at all. And there were at least three or four tests on the sexual function that day."
Hearing this, Christopher suddenly opened his eyes.
He seemed to realize something.
No wonder Janice was acting strange. It turned out to be because of this.
Did she suspect that he had erectile dysfunction?
Thinking of this, Christopher burst into laughter.
What kind of illusion did he give her to make her think that he had erection problems?
This was outrageous.
Tonight, he would show her whether he had erectile dysfunction problems or not.
