The two simultaneously said.

Yvonne’s surprised gaze swept across their faces and finally landed on Janice.

"Do you know each other?"

Janice frowned at James.

It was more than just knowing each other.

He was Christopher’s friend after all. She didn’t want to ruin their relationship.

Thinking of this, she said, "Let’s go."

Then she pulled along Yvonne, who was still in a daze.

On the way, Yvonne was driving while Janice was sitting in the passenger seat.

"Janice, you know that person?"

Yvonne asked.

Janice thought of James, who had been very arrogant in the villa before, and said, "We just met once this morning."

"What?"

Yvonne asked in surprise. After all, how could James, who was from a wealthy family, have anything to do with Janice?

The matter was too complicated for Janice to explain clearly. So she said, "I met him by chance. Why are you quarreling?"

At the mention of it, Yvonne was filled with anger.

"Don’t mention it. He not only came late but also behaved so arrogantly. Did he think he’s awesome just because he is rich? Who cares? Besides, I am a doctor who specializes in treating the male chauvinist pig like him!"

Janice did not say anything.

If he was anyone else, she might have tried to persuade Yvonne.

But she had seen James’s arrogance firsthand.

She said, "Forget about him."

As soon as James entered the nightclub’s private room, he complained to Christopher.

"Chris, why did you marry such a woman?"

Christopher frowned at him.

"James, watch your words."

He didn’t like James’s tone.

James sneered, "You are still protecting her. What’s the problem with your eyes?"

Christopher’s face immediately darkened.

"James, I owe you a favor today, but please don’t say something bad about my wife."

Seeing Christopher’s expression, Daniel quickly touched James’s arm.

"James, what’s wrong with you?"

Daniel kept signaling to him.

Only then did James realize that Christopher’s attitude changed. He didn’t expect that Christopher would get so worked up.

Then James said, "All right, all right. Everyone’s taste is different. As long as you love her."

When Janice returned home, the room was pitch -black. She turned on the light and didn’t saw Christopher. Then she glanced at the time.

She found him had been coming back more and more late recently.

However, she didn’t care too much because a man should have his own time. Then she went to the bathroom to take a shower.

As soon as she walked out of the bathroom, she heard the sound of the door opening outside.

Janice walked out and saw Christopher.

"You’re back."

"Yes."

Christopher put down his car key, threw away his coat, and walked past Janice. At this time, James smelled a strong smell of smoke and alcohol on him.

Janice frowned...

<Did he go drinking again?

Who did he go with?

James or Rob?>

Thinking of James, she said, "Christopher, I have something to tell you."

...

Christopher was surprised by her serious tone, then he walked over and held her shoulder.

"What’s wrong?"

"Christopher, In my opinion, James is really not a good person. I would like if you avoided him in the future."

Hearing her words, Christopher let go of her shoulder and frowned.

"Janice, you don’t know him."

He turned to the bedroom, and Janice followed.

"Yes, I don’t know him, but I know that a man who argues with a woman in public is not exactly someone of great character."

Christopher turned around and his eyes fell on her face.

Janice continued, "I know you have the right to make friends, but you have to consider the person’s moral quality. I don’t think such an arrogant, spoiled guy is a good choice."

She tried to be as direct about it as possible.

Christopher frowned and thought, "What’s going on today? James complained about my wife first."

"And now Janice told me not to contact James."

"Therefore, what happened between the two?"

"Did you misunderstand James?"

Christopher said.

However, Janice said, "You don’t have to defend him. I just know his type."

After saying that, Janice turned around and walked out.

Christopher frowned at her departing figure.

After Janice walked out of the bedroom, she felt more worried.

After all, Christopher didn’t have a job. He had too much free time. What if he was misled by James?

No, she couldn’t let anyone mislead her husband.

Thinking of this, she returned.

Just as Christopher was about to take a shower in the bathroom, Janice barged in and said, "Why don’t you work with me from tomorrow? You drive for me and I’ll pay

you."

Christopher was surprised by her words. He stared at Janice and frowned slightly.

Well, she really wanted to do whatever she wanted.

Seeing that he didn’t respond, Janice continued.

"I know. It’s a little unfair to let you be my driver, but it’s a temporary arrangement. Don’t worry. If you get a job in the future, you can leave at any time."

Christopher couldn’t help smiling in his heart.

He thought it was a good idea. At least, before he figured out the relationship between Benjamin Taylor and Janice, he could take care of her.

Then he nodded.

"Okay."

"That’s settled then."

Only then did Janice leave the room happily.

Christopher stared at her figure in resignation.

The next day, early in the morning, Christopher drove Janice to the TV station.

When they arrived, Janice opened the car door while saying, "Wait for me in the car. I’ll be right there after I clock in."

"Okay."

Christopher nodded and watched her walk into the station.

The phone suddenly rang and Christopher picked it up.

"Mr. Bateman, you have an important meeting to attend this morning."

Rob reminded him.

Christopher glanced at the time.

"Cancel my schedule for today."

"What?"

Rob thought he had misheard him.

"What’s wrong with him? He’s even skipping such an important meeting?"

...

After Janice clocked in, she met Benjamin waiting for a car at the gate.

Seeing Janice, Benjamin stepped forward and asked, "Janice, are you going out?"

Janice nodded. "There’s news to be released."

Benjamin glanced at the time and said, "Take my car."

Janice shook her head. "No need. I have a car."

As she spoke, she instinctively glanced at Christopher. Then she walked towards the car.

Benjamin had planned to stop her, but before he could go forward, he saw Christopher getting out of the car.

Benjamin just stood there, watching Christopher stepping forward and hugging Janice. Then he kissed Janice’s forehead. When the car drove away, Benjamin returned to his senses.

Could he be Janice’s boyfriend?

In the car.

Christopher drove the car seriously. Janice couldn’t help blushing at the kiss Christopher gave her.

"Christopher, don’t do that anymore."

After all, it was the entrance of the TV station. It would be embarrassing if her colleagues saw them. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖

Christopher turned to look at her with a satisfied smile.

He would not tell Janice that he had done that on purpose. He didn’t want her to get entangled with Benjamin.

Hearing her words, he simply nodded and said, "Okay, I won’t do it again." Soon after, the car stopped beside the largest life square in Tomaville.

"Christopher, I’m going out for an interview. Wait for me in the car. Don’t run around."

Before getting out of the car, Janice advised repeatedly.

Christopher nodded.

"Okay."

However, as soon as Janice left, he followed her.

He had always wanted to see what she looked like at work.

However, after taking a few steps, his phone rang. It was from Rob.

Thinking that it might be a work-related issue, Christopher looked at Janice’s figure and picked it up.

"Mr. Bateman, Mr. Allson just asked when you would return home."

Christopher frowned and said, "Got it. I’ll call him."

After hanging up the phone, Christopher couldn’t find Janice at all.

Where did she go?

He looked around but did not find any trace of her. He then just went to find her in a random direction.

In a corner of the square, Janice was doing an interview amongst the crowd.

What she needed to do today was to investigate the happiness of the elderly in the locality.

Tomaville’s life square was the place where most of the old people loved coming, especially between 7 to 9 o’clock every morning.

She wanted to interview at least ten elderly people during this period.

After an hour, Janice finally completed the interview task and was about to return to the car.

However, she suddenly saw a silver-haired old man was walking with a mahogany cane in his hand in the inconspicuous corner.

Janice felt that the figure was so thin that would fall at any time, so she couldn’t help walking over.
