Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton
Chapter 1991 - 1552: Bought the Star Map
Watching Ange project the Star Flame from a distant place in a way that even he did not understand, Luomu Luo’er couldn’t hold back any longer. His consciousness quietly returned to his body, and upon careful inspection, he found that the Star Flame Arrow was shot out from the Land of the Infinity.
At this moment, his body and the black mist moved aside, revealing a hole leading straight to the triangular breach. In it, one Star Flame Arrow after another was being shot out, disappearing after a certain distance.
"Double Star String? That’s not right. Even if the Double Star String could shoot the Star Flame this far, it wouldn’t remain intact as it would be completely dissipated along the way, unless..." Thinking of Ange’s Time-Space Ancient Dragon legacy, Luomu Luo’er roughly guessed what was used to keep the Star Flame intact after it was shot.
But guessing this was of no use. What shocked him even more was how Ange was able to shoot it so accurately!
"Did he use just a little bit of the Power of Devour to trigger the gravitational midpoints of two Devouring Abysses, using those midpoints as targets to achieve such accuracy?" Luomu Luo’er muttered to himself.
Alright, now that the reasons for why it was shot so far and why it was so accurate were solved, the last issue remained: "Why did it fly so fast?"
It’s only slightly slower than their thought projection. How did the Star Flame Arrow reach there so quickly over such a vast distance?
This problem left Luomu Luo’er puzzled, but there were no longer any Star Flame Arrows coming from the triangular breach.
Luomu Luo’er projected himself once again, only to see within the Devouring Abyss created by Ange, clusters of Star Flames being continuously released for the Little Angel to absorb.
After absorbing ten clusters of Star Flame, the Little Angel’s two wings suddenly split apart, changing from two to four, and then detached. Once they left the Little Angel’s body, a taller humanoid figure coalesced at the wing roots—the Star Flame Angel.
Following the same method, a second one was manifested.
Ange used twenty clusters of Star Flame to manifest the Little Angel, and the Little Angel used twenty clusters of Star Flame to manifest two Star Flame Angels.
With about a dozen clusters of Star Flame left, Ange tossed them directly to the silver coin.
"Is this deterrent enough now?" Anthony turned to the silver coin and asked.
With a wry smile, the silver coin replied, "It’s enough, more than enough. Having one Star Flame Angel follow me is sufficient."
No matter their form, these are warriors conjured by Star Flame. Even a single Star Flame Angel’s strength is several times that of the former Mai Bao, which is more than enough to subdue many people in such a place dominated by the Star Descendant.
The old Gebao Maibao had killed many Star Descendants, including the strongest Void-level Star Descendant, all with a single strike.
"They’ll all follow along; just keep them subdued," Anthony said. "We’ll also switch bodies."
With enough Star Flame, Ange could transform into the Chaos Mist. With the Chaos Mist, Ange could manifest any material, like the White Crystal.
Manifesting a few White Crystals on the spot, everyone transformed back into Star Descendants.
"These soul stones are pretty nice; they can carry consciousness. I’ll take some back to study," Durken said.
As an Alchemist, any new material is a treasure in Durken’s eyes. He is eager to study anything, and these soul stones, capable of carrying consciousness, are very rare materials since there aren’t many things in the Void that can carry consciousness and souls.
"Do you plan to take them back from here? That would take tens of thousands of years," Luomu Luo’er said.
"Huh? Is it that far?" Durken was taken aback. They were projections attached to Luomu Luo’er’s consciousness, and seeing Ange easily shoot the Star Flame over, despite Luomu Luo’er’s repeated emphasis on the distance, Durken hadn’t had an intuitive sense of it.
Now hearing the number ’tens of thousands of years,’ he finally realized how far it truly was.
"Then don’t take them. Have Ange manifest some for you when you return," Negris said.
Durken looked at Ange expectantly, asking, "My Lord, is it possible?"
Ange nodded.
As they spoke, they had already returned to the upper left area above the gravitational midpoint, with the silver coin leading a Star Flame Angel, casually heading towards the approaching Star Descendants.
The Star Descendants glanced at the silver coin and then at the Star Flame Angel behind him, unsure of what they were thinking, but the transaction went smoothly.
Soon, the silver coin discovered some business opportunities. The intelligence analysis and summarization capabilities of these Star Descendants were very poor, and their arithmetic wasn’t great. Readily calculable new coordinates from a few coordinates and accelerations were being sold as new information.
"Lord Nage, can you help me calculate these coordinates?" The silver coin reported a few coordinates.
Nage quickly calculated them, and before long, the silver coin flew back: "I got the star map."
"You got a star map? Is such a thing so easily obtained?" Negris asked in surprise.
Ordinary people don’t understand the value of a star map, but Negris, having seen the world transfer stations, knows what is most precious in the world transfer stations, that coordinate map that records all the coordinates of connected or potentially connectable Teleportation Arrays. It is the accumulation of tens of thousands of years by the Undead Empire.
The star map is an enlarged version of the coordinate map, recording the positions of every God Star. With it, one can navigate freely in this void without fear of getting lost.
The value of the star map lies in its existence, inevitably requiring the sacrifice of countless pioneers’ lives to fill in the blanks. Void exploration is fraught with danger, let alone in a universe where every God Star might have consciousness.
The silver coin smiled wryly, saying, "Because it’s now useless. All the coordinates on it have become invalid. Even if they weren’t destroyed by the Time-Space Ancient Dragon and Exotic Ghost, they’ve all moved from their original positions, so the star map is already obsolete."
While speaking, the silver coin took out a Crystal Stone, and probing it with thought, he could immediately see a world filled with specks, only all of them had been artificially dimmed except for a few very bright spots among the dimness.
"Is this the outside world? Are these dim light points the previous positions of the God Stars? Why does it look so much like...fireworks?" Negris said.
Anthony also remarked, "It does look like fireworks. I understand why it’s called a branch road now. Look at these spreading branches; don’t they look like a blossoming firework? Where is the Land of the Infinity?"
Luomu Luo’er marked a spot near the center: "Here it is."
"One, two, three...seventeen beams, so there are seventeen branch roads? Where is your Luomu Branch Road? And where is the Lania Branch Road?" Anthony asked.
Luomu Luo’er marked the Luomu Branch Road and the Lania Branch Road, with four branch roads between the two.
"Therefore, no matter which branch road it is, its end is always closest to the Land of the Infinity. If you want to travel from the Nea Branch Road to your Luomu Branch Road, the fastest way is to first reach the Land of the Infinity and then head to the Luomu Branch Road. Otherwise, you’d have to cross four branch roads," Anthony said.
